[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
A/n- Yes, another story. Deal with it. I will finish the others sometime...later in the year, but I am not in the mood to even write at all anymore. I'm moving away from everything that I have only known for about 4 or 5 years, and my mom if forcing me to leave the comfort of my house to go buy some stupid shit that we don't really need if we're cleaning out the kitchen, and I almost set the house on fire by leaving my Ramen on the stove while I went to check my e-mail. Little did I know, all the good authors update on Saturday, so I burned Ramen, and I have to clean my stove and I have to go to fucking Giant Eagle, I might've broke the phone, and my little brother is coming up sometime today. He lives in Arizona and I haven't seen him in ages and I just happen to hate his father. But here's the story- yes, I'll accept criticism and flames; they are just words after all.
DISCLAIMER- No, I don't own Inuyasha or the Inu-tachi, but I own this fic and all of its ideas, except for a few things which belong to the one and only, Night Ember, who is currently not active on this site, but is on A Single Spark. Oh, and I don't own Raiden, considering he's a Japanese god and I didn't think him up.
Lightening Can't Strike Me Twice... Right?
The defeat of Naraku was filled with good and bad for the Inu-tachi. Kohaku died at the hands of Sango, Kikyou said good-bye to Inuyasha, Sango finally granted Miroku's wish and was pregnant, and Inuyasha and Kagome finally admitted their love for each other. But what will happen when an old enemy is revived...and he needs Kagome's blood? And when their truce transforms into something else, what will Inuyasha do to keep his love? And what is Sango hiding from Miroku? Pairings are a secret.
Chapter 1- Coming back from the Dead, Falling from the Sky, and a Family Reunion from Hell
Kagome brushed her long midnight hair back and looked in the mirror she put on the wall of her and Inuyasha's hut. Humming to herself, she stepped out of the hut and watched an anxious looking Sango waddle out of the forest. Kagome frowned and hurried over.
“Hey, Sango, you shouldn't wander around pregnant!” Kagome called, rushing over. Kagome paused at the blush on Sango's face and the thin sheet of sweat on her face. “What were you doin' back there anyways?”
“I-uh, hey look! It's Inuyasha!” Sango waved and Kagome turned to see her hanyou boyfriend.
`What's up with her anyways? She keeps going off alone in the forest without anyone and comes back out all nervous and- wait, could she be meeting someone in there?' While Kagome chewed anxiously on her bottom lip and thought about her friend, Inuyasha came up behind her.
When Kagome found herself in someone's arms, she yelped and purified whoever was holding her. Swearing followed her jolt purification, and Kagome turned to find Inuyasha holding his charred arms.
“Oh, Inuyasha, I'm so sorry!” Kagome said, reaching out for the hanyou's injuries. She wrapped her hands around his left arm and closed her eyes. A soft blue light surrounded Inuyasha's arm and he breathed a sigh of relief when he felt a sensation that felt like the gentle ocean waves washed over him and left his arm perfectly healed. She reached for the other arm and~
CRASH!!
“What the hell?” Inuyasha yelled, turning to look at where the sound came from. A felled tree was at rest just beyond them, and Kagome felt the familiar tingle.
“Guys, I sense a shard of the sacred jewel!” Kagome said. Everyone but Shippo looked at her.
Shippo had fallen in love with Ayame sometime during the 5 years they had searched for the shards. During that time, he had forced his body to change; resulting in Ayame to forget about Kouga when she saw the 21 looking Shippo. They ran off together, after hearing one of Inuyasha's lectures about what-not-to-do-when-fighting-youkai. Kagome, convinced something had happened to them, ran off to find them, only to find a pregnant Ayame and Shippo watching over her.
“But we found all the shards. Unless there are two Shikon no Tamas, it must be hunger, or something.” Miroku said, walking over to Sango. He smiled down at her, and then frowned.
“Sango-koi, what is on your forehead?” The houshi asked. Kagome looked at Sango's sun-kissed face and squinted her eyes. There looked to be a blue thing on Sango's forehead.
While everyone peered at Sango's forehead, Kagome looked towards the forest. Nodding her head, she told the others where she was going, and went off to follow the tug of the sacred jewel.

Crimson eyes blinked wearily and their owner sighed and stretched like a cat. The youkai stood, trying to remember why he was there. He shook his head, trying to clear the heavy fog there.
`What's the last thing I remember?' He asked himself. He searched his mind, and thought of a girl with onyx colored hair down to her mid-back and bright blue eyes. He shut his eyes and concentrated on the girl's image.
“Inuyasha!”
Hiten's eyes shot open as he thought of the bastard hanyou. His long silver hair, those golden eyes filled with obnoxious determination.
“He killed...Manten...and...me?” He said out loud.
The image of himself biting into Manten's forehead came in view, and Hiten frowned and spit onto the wooded ground. He sat down on a moss covered log and crossed his legs. His foot tapped anxiously on the dirt, stick, and bug clad ground as he thought back to the girl.
“Are some little gems more important to you than I am?”
The sounds of snapping twigs brought him out of his reverie. He looked around, but growled softly when he found nothing.
“Kagome!”
“A woman is nothing to fight over, but a brother-“
A muffled gasp caused him to look up again. A young girl clad in a black camisole and jeans stood in front of him. Her long obsidian cascaded down her shoulders in a black waterfall that Hiten wanted to run his fingers through. He shook his head and froze when the girl whispered, “Hiten...”
“How do you know my name...?” Hiten asked back quietly, as not to disturb the harsh silence that filled the forest.
“You...are supposed to be dead!” The girl said, stepping forward.
The fact that she stepped forwards instead of running away made Hiten just a bit nervous. Hiten inhaled her scent. She smelled like the middle of a rainstorm. The smell itself sent a warning tingle down his spine, and he sensed miko energy underneath.
`She's a miko; and she looks familiar. Wait- Kagome...'
“K-Kagome?”
&&&&&&
Kagome bit back a cry as a sharp branch dug at her bare shoulder. A small trickle of blood ran down her arm, and Kagome quickly covered it so no youkai would smell it and come looking for a free meal.
Of course, nothing is free in this world; Kagome included.
She turned a corner on the dirt trail she was walking on and gasped.
Hiten was sitting right in front of her.
`Is he dead?' Was the first thing she thought of, but quickly shot the idea down considering the rise and fall of his chest and his aura.
She noticed his crimson eyes staring at something and she turned to see what he was so fixated on, but then she realized that she was out in the open, and in his sight range.
`What's going on?' Kagome thought.
&&&&&&&
Kagome stepped forward and kneeled down in front of Hiten. Her blue eyes were scanning the three shards embedded in his forehead, he noticed. Her hand reached up to them and she removed one. Hiten had no idea why he was letting her so near him, but somehow he knew that she was no threat to him.
Kagome studied the jewel, and gasped when she realized it was real. Somehow, three shards had to have escaped the entire jewel and they didn't even notice. Hiten had somehow come back from the dead and stole three shards, but left the rest, no that didn't work.
Kagome placed the shard back in its proper place and stood abruptly. She grabbed the thunder youkai's hand and dragged him back to Kaede's village.
Hiten growled softly, causing Kagome to stop and glare at him.
“Listen, I don't know what's going on, but we are going back to my home and you are going to give back the shards!” Kagome said, letting Hiten's hand go.
“I don't know how I got here, or why I have those. All I remember is that stupid hanyou killing me and my brother.” Hiten paused and looked down at her. “And you.”
“We'll sort everything out at m... uh-oh,” Kagome frowned and bit her bottom lip as she looked around.
“What is it?” Hiten asked, wondering why he hadn't killed her outright.
Kagome smiled sadly and sighed. “I have no idea where we are.” Hiten narrowed his eyes at her and Kagome shrugged nonchalantly.
Hiten groaned and picked her up bridal style. Kagome “eep”ed and closed her eyes as Hiten let his flying wheels take them up above the trees. He stopped and looked towards the white smoke just a few miles away.
“Is that your village?” he asked, pointing towards it. To his surprise Kagome clung to him like a newborn kitten. He realized that she was slipping and he put his hand back under her legs. Kagome opened her eyes and blushed slightly.
All along she had been wondering why he hadn't insulted her or killed her. He could've let her fall and then gone off to do whatever. But he saved her, and even tolerated her clinging to him.
“H-hai, it's that one over there.” She said, shakily, raising her hand from his shoulder to point it out.
Nodding, Hiten leaned forward and flew off towards the rising white smoke and to the angry hanyou who awaited there.

“Inuyasha, do you smell that?” Miroku asked from his place on the ground.
Inuyasha opened one eye and sniffed the air. “Yeah, it smells like a thunderstorm.” Inuyasha closed his eye and relaxed.
`Kagome left like...an hour ago. Wait- where the hell is she?' Inuyasha leapt off the porch roof and was almost into the forest when Kagome fell from the sky and landed on him.
###@@@@
“Yup, that's it!” Kagome exclaimed as they neared the village. She felt a tingle in her nose and before she knew it...
AACHOO!
Her hair flew up around her head and she looked up to see Hiten trying to grab her. He succeeded in grabbing her shoulder, but all he ended up with was her shirt. Blinking, Hiten looked down, expecting to see her insides on the dirt covered ground, but only saw her sitting on the mutt that killed him.
Kagome glared up at him, and he smirked and held up her shirt. Kagome gave another “eep” and tried to cover her black silky bra.
Inuyasha sat up and held Kagome in his arms “Go inside, Kagome, there's gonna be a storm.” Inuyasha said. His voice was muffled because of his nuzzling and Kagome sent a look up to Hiten that said “Stay in the forest and don't move.” Hiten nodded and dropped her shirt.
“Uh, there are no clouds in the sky, Inu-koi.” Kagome said, gesturing to the cloudless sky, hoping to the Kamis Hiten was well out of the way.
“Oh, well then why does it smell like a thunder storm?” Inuyasha stood and gaped at Kagome. She gave a little wave and put on her shirt.
“Kagome...” Kagome stood, only to fall back down from a slap from Inuyasha.
Inuyasha glared own at her and then grabbed the front of her shirt, jerking her to her unsteady feet. “Who were you going to meet, ya little slut? Was it my aniiki? `Cuz I caught his disgusting scent around here after you left!”
“Inuyasha! Stop it!” Kagome cried, trying to break free of the hanyou's grasp.
Inuyasha blinked and then let her go, sending the miko flying to her ass.
“Hiraikotsu!” Inuyasha turned to see a giant boomerang fly at his head and then he saw stars.
Just then, Hiten chose to step out of the forest.
Miroku, who was rushing over, stopped dead in his tracks and stared at Kagome, who had a very large face print on her face.
“Oh, Sango, he slapped me- what did I do?” Kagome moaned as tears fell from her eyes and she traced her fingers along her injury.
“Fucking half-breed,” Hiten muttered, keeping his distance from the rest of the tachi.
“What do you want, youkai?” Sango snapped, clutching her Hiraikotsu while she moved in front to defend her friend. Miroku stepped in front of Sango, once again wishing that he still had his Kazzanna for at least a minute.
As soon as Hiten looked away from Kagome, he was his old self again. He smirked and glared at the houshi. Miroku refused to back down and withdrew a seal from his robes. Hiten either didn't notice or didn't care. He held his hand straight up to the sky, and summoned a single streak of lightening down to the palm of his hand. The lightening took form and began to solidify. A clap of thunder sent thousands of birds and flying youkai off; all flying away from what smelled and sounded to be a terrifying thunder storm.
Miroku gaped at what was clutched tightly in the thunder youkai's hand. He had heard about the Thunder brothers, but he had never seen one up close and personal; until now. And it seemed as if Hiten had learned a few new tricks in the Afterlife on how to recreate his old Thunder Pike.
Hiten grinned, his Thunder Pike sending sparks flying around his tanned face. He swung it parallel to the ground and sent a lightening bolt towards Miroku. The young monk evaded it by jumping to the left and landing on the old Bone Eater's Well.
Hiten smirked and sent another wave of mass destruction towards the lecherous houshi who did the only thing he could do: jump inside the well.
As the wooden well was hit with Hiten's power, it crumbled and fell down and was reduced to a pile of rotting wood and dust. Tears fell from Sango's eyes as she held Kagome. Hiten turned towards the two girls, one pregnant, one in love with a hanyou, and stepped towards them.
Finally, he remembered why he was there and why he didn't want to kill Kagome.

Ayame held her daughter, Aeris, up over the small stream and watched as they the crossbreed swiped her tiny claws at the fish. Aeris reached out further and slipped from her mother's grasp.
Ayame gasped, but her worries were cast aside as her mate snatched their daughter away from the cold water.
They were only a few hundred miles away from Kagome and Inuyasha's home, and Shippo wanted to make it there soon. He saw his mother in Kagome; from the top of her obsidian hair covered head to her feet that let her run like the wind, in human terms.
“Come on Ayame, only five more minutes until we reach Inuyasha's Forest.” Shippo said as he wrung his tail dry. He scratched behind his fox ears and looked at his mate who was grumbling under her breath.
“You know, Shippo,” Ayame said as she stood up, placing a hand on her abdomen. “It's hard to run when your stomach is the size of a beach ball!” Ayame huffed as she walked past shippo. Shippo grinned and picked her up bridal style. Ayame laughed as Aeris jumped in her lap and Shippo ran off and he smelled the familiar smell of the beginning of a thunder storm, and a thunder storm.
But what really confused the kitsune was why there were no clouds in the sky.
`Wait- could it be-? No- the thunder brothers were killed by Inuyasha! So why is Hiten's scent coming from Kagome and Inuyasha's home? Guess I'll just have to find out for myself.' Shippo thought as he looked down at the red headed ookami in his arms.
He leapt into the air and watched as a bolt of lightening came down from the sky and hit something on the ground. Shippo gasped as he heard Sango scream.
“Shippo! Put me down and go to your friends!” Ayame exclaimed, as she grabbed Aeris and leapt from Shippo's arms. Shippo hesitated in his stride, but forced himself to leave his mate behind.
His bright green eyes narrowed as he smelled the strong scent of thunder storm and tears. He inhaled deeply and caught Kagome's middle of a rainstorm scent, Inuyasha's pine forest scent, Sango's sage and cinnamon scent, Kirara's water lily and flame scent, and Miroku's spiced apple scent.
`Hang on, Oka-san, I'm coming!' Shippo thought as he leapt over the last of the trees and landed in front of Inuyasha, who was pulling out his Tetsusaiga.

Hiten set his Raigekijin on the ground at Kagome's feet and bowed his head. His crimson eyes were locked with her cerulean orbs and she broke down into sobs.
“Why did you kill Miroku?” Kagome sobbed, not bothering to notice the lecherous monk get up and wobble towards them.
“Mistress Kagome; I would never do anything to hurt you.” Hiten said, raising his head slightly.
Kagome blinked and rubbed her eyes. “What did you say?” she asked. “'Mistress'? I'm not your Mistress!” Hiten sighed and opened his mouth to explain when he felt a sword on the back of his neck.
“Listen, buddy,” Inuyasha said loudly. “I don't know how you got outta hell, but you can be sure I'm gonna put you back in it!”
“Inuyasha, osuwari!” Kagome snapped. Inuyasha gave a feeble cry as he plummeted to the ground face first. Hiten cleared his throat and all eyes were on him, even when Miroku sat next to Sango.
“It would be easier to just show you.” Hiten said placing his hand on Kagome's forehead. “If you want to see, touch Kagome's arms.” Inuyasha, Sango, and Miroku grabbed Kagome's arm and closed their eyes.
“Open your eyes when I tell you.” Hiten said as he dug back into his mind to find the memory. He smiled and closed his eyes and...
“Open your eyes...now!”
Hiten's memory
Kagome opened her eyes and rubbed her eyes. It was the middle of the night, it was snowing, and the ground was frozen. She was bundled up and seemingly gained 50 pounds and was freezing, but then there was Inuyasha, wearing his same attire, and warm as apple pie in the oven.
Kagome coughed and looked at the full moon. She woke up because something had passed over her. She looked around, and almost choked on a scream.
Hiten was lying on the frozen ground staring up at Raiden, the god of thunder and lightning. Before the lightning youkai were his Raigekijin and five sacred jewel shards.
“Hiten; since you yearn fort he living world so you will be banished there for twelve moon cycles. And since you hate the hanyou who killed you so much you shall be bound to Kikyou's reincarnation; Inuyasha's companion. As soon as the jewel of four souls is completed you will be sent down to her so you can remain with her.”
“Wait- Raiden-sama, why do you not send me to hell because of what I did?” Hiten asked.
Raiden looked at Hiten, an amused look on his face. “Do you want to go to hell?”
“What's the catch?” Hiten demanded angrily.
“No catch. You just have to protect her.”
Hiten sighed and nodded his head. “Ok, I'll play along. Send me back to the living world.”
“Did I forget to mention that you need to take some of her blood to remain there?” Raiden asked, a smirk crossing his face.
“You mean me and her are going to be-?”
“Mates; exactly.” Raiden finished for the dumbstruck lightning youkai.
“Wait; I wanna go to-!”
“Too late.” Raiden waved his hand and he disappeared, leaving Hiten alone. Hiten sighed and looked at her. Kagome shrieked and ran off, leaving almost all of her warm clothes behind.
Frozen branches hit her in the face, her bare feet slipped on the ice, and lips, ears, and fingers began to go numb. She panted as she ran, trying to ignore the pain in her feet as they pounded the solid ground.
The sound of a youkai howling rang through the night and Kagome slipped down a hill. Her skirt ripped and her shirt was left in tatters as the ice ripped and tore at her clothes and soft, supple flesh. Kagome screamed as she saw the edge of the cliff. She closed her eyes, waiting to feel the ground under her dissipate and begin to plummet to the frozen river down below.
But when she stopped moving and found herself enveloped in warmth, Kagome opened her eyes and saw crimson eyes looking down at her. Tears fell from her eyes as she began to shake with fear. Hiten frowned and used his thumb to wipe away her tears. Hiten wrapped his arms around her and crouched down to get her as warm as possible.
“Hang on, girl.” Hiten said as he picked Kagome up. Kagome whimpered and against her will clung to him like a newborn kitten. Hiten jumped up the hill and began to run towards the nearest hot spring.
“W-where are you taking me?” Kagome asked, her teeth chattering from the cold.
Hiten looked down at her, and she whimpered. Growling, he stopped running and dropped her to the ground. Kagome looked up at him, her ripped clothes barely covering her body.
“Listen, I won't hurt you. So stop whimpering and crying, now knock it off before I leave you here to die.” Hiten snapped. Kagome bit her lip and closed her eyes. She was cold, wet, and tired and was at the mercy of the supposedly dead Hiten.
When a whimpering sound began to escape her throat, Hiten wanted to kick himself for making her cry again. He knelt down and tilted her head up with his forefinger. Kagome looked into his eyes and there was something in them that calmed her. She sniffed and swallowed some of her fear.
“Stay still so I can pick you up.” Hiten instructed.
Kagome nodded and let Hiten pick her up.
”Wait a minute! Hold it!”
Kagome felt Hiten's hand leave her forehead and opened her eyes top see the lightning youkai scrambling to get his Raigekijin so he could defend himself against the angry hanyou.
“Inuyasha!” Kagome whipped around to see Shippo jump onto Hiten's back. Hiten growled gutturally, and Kagome expected to see his eyes turning red, but then remembered he already had red eyes.
`I'll have to ask him about that later.' Kagome thought as she ran over to the fighting trio.
“Inuyasha!” Inuyasha turned to see an arrow coming right for him. He closed his eyes, expecting to feel the sharp, cold tip of the arrow pierce his chest, but only found himself upside down, hanging by his hakamas.
“Fox Fire!” Hiten grabbed Shippo by his fox ears and threw him up into the air and swung his Raigekijin like a bat to hit the kitsune.
“Daddy! Take this- Illusory Top!” Aeris cried as she and Ayame arrived. Aeris threw the top at Hiten, who caught it in his hand and crushed it.
“Shippo!” Ayame yelled as she aimed a kick at Hiten. Hiten grabbed her foot and dropped her on the ground as Inuyasha tried to hit him with the Wind Scar. Inuyasha found himself flying with some passing geese as Hiten jumped up to escape the crowd of people trying to kill him.
“Knock it off!” Kagome screamed at the top of her voice. Hiten landed before her and mumbled his apologies. Kagome smiled and waved them off, when Inuyasha decided to grab Hiten's braid and try to throw him into the forest.
“Sit boy!” Inuyasha's face met the dirt ground and Hiten stuck his tongue out at him.
Very mature...
