Like You Imagined

Kagome always had the perfect picture of the man of her dreams. The one she would marry, have children with, share the rest of her life with: Mr. Right. She would think up of the perfect man who she would love and love her back. She never told any one about what she wanted in a man because she felt that if she did say, then he would never come true and never save her. She wanted Mr. Right to one day come knocking to her door and whisk her away, saving her from an impending dome, to keep her safe and make her feel safe no matter what.

He would be so sweet to her, treat her like a princess, making sure she was always happy. He would do whatever he could to make her smile and laugh, including pampering her and treating her like his precious glass. He would be romantic and buy her a rose every day as proof of his love for her. On their many anniversaries (because they would be together forever), he would take her away somewhere beautiful and exquisite, like a five star, fancy restaurant or to a wonderful getaway in Hawaii.

Then, he would surprise her with a breath-taking expensive gift, like jewelry, a car, or a brand-new home. Of course he would be able to afford all this, her shopping sprees, and their expensive living because he would be a world famous, successful man. He might be an actor or a model, but the thought of paparazzi hoped he wasn't. Or….a doctor! He would be an intelligent doctor who would save the lives of thousands, but not matter how busy he was, he would always have time for Kagome.

And because he was Kagome's Mr. Right, he would be tall, handsome, and athletic. He would be so beautiful and breathtaking that every woman and several men wanted him for themselves. But it mattered not! For his heart belonged to Kagome and his mind was only filled with thoughts of her. She would be the center of his attention.

Because of his deep love for Kagome, he would simply be adored by her family and friends. He truly loved her and he treated them with the utmost respect. He wanted to fit into Kagome's lifestyle and he did so wonderfully. Everyone would approve of them and at their wedding, there wouldn't be a single dry eye in the wonderfully decorated Higurashi Shrine with the elegant decors, fine food, graceful music. It would be an overall extravagant event with a proud Jii-chan as the one to wed them. Everyone would be so joyous at the amazing new couple and cheer and cry as they watch the newlyweds make their way to the airport to go to their luxurious honeymoon in Paris.

Soon, they would get a wonderful mansion as they prepare to start their family. Together, they would have the most wonderful, beautiful children. Two beautiful kids who obeyed them and acted like such angels. A boy and a girl, or rather a gentleman and a lady. Two children who Kagome and Mr. Right would love with all their hearts and whom would love their parents back. But even though they have children, there would always be time for romance for Kagome and her husband. He would still love her with all her heart, more each and every day. They would live a peaceful, tranquil, picture-perfect life: Kagome, Mr. Right, and their children.

Kagome smiled as her mate successfully lulled their eight week old baby to sleep. Inuyasha didn't even come close to the Mr. Right she would dream of growing up. He was loud, rude, brash, arrogant, blunt, stubborn, and had such a temper that made Kagome wonder why she still had hair. But he loved her unconditionally. He could be spontaneous and really thoughtful, practically romantic when it came to her. He always managed to find a way to move Kagome to tears with his gifts. He trusted her and would share his memories, his feelings, his thoughts with her.

But when he got upset and refused to share something with her, he would turn off their mate links (a link that let them know of each other's emotions and thoughts). Sometimes he would get angry, letting that temper of his run his mouth, promptly making her cry. It didn't matter how many people offered to kick his ass. He was the one who was toughest on himself and would always beat himself up the hardest for making her upset.

He always apologized to her, feeling like shit for making her upset, and she would forgive him. He loved her. She loved him. It was so simple and so confusing to others, but she couldn't stay mad at him forever. He made her smile and laugh, made her feel so happy that she feared that something catastrophic would happen.

They didn't live in the huge mansion she once dreamed of, though Sesshomaru has often, repeatedly offered them one. They lived in a house he, Miroku, and a few villagers had built. It was more deep and meaningful than an expensive mansion because he though of her and built if for her and their growing family. This meant that Kagome was the center of Inuyasha's world, along with their three children - er, pups. Three beautiful, loud mischievous little hanyous (two boys and one middle girl) that they loved and who have kept both of them up all night long. Inuyasha would always scold her for staying up so late and not getting the rest she needed, so he would take over in seeing what it would take to lull their children back to sleep.

But just because he would get angry and yell at her for doing things he thought that she shouldn't do, that didn't mean that he treated her like glass. Inuyasha knew that Kagome was strong, sometimes being the target of her strength. When it came to practicing her miko powers, he would push her as much as he could, saying over and over that in case he couldn't be there to protect him, which would hopefully never happen, he wanted to make sure that she could take care of herself.

Looking at her mate, Kagome realized that he was her Mr. Right. He was a handsome man - er, half-demon. He was so graceful, with the body of a Greek god, so athletic, so breath-taking, so simply magnificent. Sure he wasn't accepted by some of her friends from school because in their eyes he was a jerk to them, but her family from the past and the future welcomed him. They knew of his true heart, his character, and how he loved her.

He wasn't the Mr. Right she had imagined. Rather, Hojo fit the description almost completely. But, Mr. Right didn't suit her anymore, the one she dreamed of. She had grown a lot since the five years since been in Sengoku Jidai and so had all her views on practically every aspect of her life, including who her ideal guy was. The one she imagined was too dull, not as impulsive, adventurous or as passionate as Inuyasha. Her mate was fierce, loyal to the bone, and just so bold. Mr. Right was too plain, predictable, and just so bland. Inuyasha was the one for her, the one that made her lose her head, the one who could get all possible reactions out of her all in one hour.

Inuyasha was her mate and she was glad. He was a much better choice than she could ever dream up of. He loved her to the ends and back, accepting her as who she was and cherishing her as much as he could. Giving him three adorable pups, his love for her really knew no bounds. For as long as he could, he would love her and their three pups. For as long and as hard as he could, he would tell her repeatedly, showing his gratitude for her loving him and saving him from the chaos inside him.

“Kagome?” Inuyasha asked her. She snapped out of her thought and looked at him. He had put their baby boy to sleep, checked on their oldest boy and younger daughter, and finally joined his mate. “You okay, wench? You sure look thoughtful and that's kinda dangerous.”

She smiled at him, which startled and confused him.

“I love you so much.” Kagome whispered to him. His ears twitched at the sound of her voice. A small smile lit up his face. He never tired of hearing her say that.

“Keh. I love you too. Now, go to sleep. We promised Sesshomaru and Kagura we would visit them and their pups. And Rin has been looking forward to seeing Shippo.” Inuyasha said as he stripped down to some boxers Kagome bought him from her time. He got into bed and dragged her body closer to his, hugging her at the waist.

“Inuyasha?” she asked him after a few silent minutes. A `hm?' was the respond she got, so she continued. “You are not anything like I imagined. Thank you so much.”

“What are you babbling about?” Inuyasha asked as he opened his eyes and looked at his mate.

“Nothing. Never mind, love. Good night.” Kagome said, snuggling closer to her mate's warm body.

“Uh, night.” Inuyasha said, chalking that brief conversation up to another one of Kagome's mood swings.

Kagome shifted her body sideways and Inuyasha wrapped his arm around her waist. His other hand stayed in the middle of her back, on top of her heart. His rested his head on top of hers and she placed her cheek on his chest. Her arm managed to find a comfortable spot underneath his shoulder and her other hand was placed on top of his chest, where his heart was. Her leg was raised up, pretty high on top of his. Her other leg was somehow between both of his.

Going through the same routine every night, they finally slept. Their bodies entangled, their lives entangled. Both blissfully slept, resting up to live their lives with one another.

A/N So, we likey? Tell me!
