Lonely Discovery
She fell on her knees.
Her head lowered to the ground as tears began to pour down her face.
She felt her insides crush.
Her soul die.
That was it. That was the final straw.
Her vision became blurry as images ran rapid through her mind, voices ringing out in her head.
`You did it again,' the voice accused.
Again.
`You destroyed yourself.'
`You're worthless.'
The voices were bombarding her now.
She fell on her face. The tears leaking from her eyes, causing her make-up to run thickly down her cheeks.
“What am I supposed to do?” She cried into the evening air. Her sobs muffled as she forced her hand over her mouth.
Her breathing became ragged as she felt her nose beginning to run.
But she didn't care.
She rocked softly back and forth.
Back and forth.
The sobs escaped her more freely.
Her voice cracking louder as she allowed the pain to escape her.
The loss to overcome her.
She felt him drawing away.
The man that she always loved.
The man that was the one for her, beginning his trek away from her.
She tightly closed her eyes as the persistent tears drained from her eyes. She ran her hands through her midnight tresses as she willed the pain to go away.
She wanted the hurt to leave.
She wished the anguish to disperse.
Feeling the calm start to encompass her small frame, she opened her blue orbs, feeling the wetness encase her eyes.
She looked to the tiled floor. Cool to the touch.
Just as he had been to her.
The look he gave her. She didn't want to see what her mind was screaming at her. She didn't want to hear what she knew she was bound to if she stayed, so she ran.
She ran.
And she ran.
She ran through the lush green grass.
Passed the tall trees, through the shrubbery, straight from whence she came.
She jumped through her portal and made it to the other side.
She slowly climbed up the side of an old wooden well.
Her eyes started to mist over as she barged through the wooden doors.
Her legs pounded on the hard cement, lightly touching the ground only to be lifted into the air again.
She ran.
Her lungs were crying for oxygen.
Her side began to ache.
She ran.
A house was on the horizon.
A shrine house.
She ran.
The heel of her foot touched onto soft carpet.
She ran.
She heard indistinctive voices call for her.
She ran.
Up the stairs, down the hall, through the white wooden door she from whence came.
She rushed inside, as she closed it tightly behind her as quietly as she could.
Her breathing became heavy, her heart throbbing in her chest. She leaned her back against the door, slowly inching her way down the side.
One final thought came through her mind before all the pain swept through her. One final declaration and all the flood gates came loose, `He loves her.'
