“Very well, then…” `This is going to be fun…. huh? What's this?'
Before I could start my tale I felt a familiar presence, and Inuyasha ran, snarling toward where it was coming from. Corth and I exchanged confused glances, and followed the hanyou. Behind us came the others.
Corth was more confused than Lilia. `Who could this be? It feels like Sesshomaru's aura, but it's much older. And I can't feel the professor's aura, or Kinen's. . . Wait, yes I do. But it's matured, as if he's grown up since they disappeared. But it hasn't even been two weeks since Lilia and I first prepared to find them.'
`Corth seems to be deep in thought about something. I wonder what it is.'
It wasn't long until we found the source of that familiar aura. `It is him! But why is he dressed like that and why is there a crescent moon on his forehead?' I was still walking toward him when I was jerked back.
“Woman do you have a death wish?!” It was Inuyasha. I looked at him with a puzzled expression. `What has he done to you? Why do you fear him?'
“What do you mean? He's only tried to destroy me once, but that was because he didn't know who I was, and Corth can protect me from him if he does decide to hurt me.”
“Ningen, what makes you think you can approach this Sesshomaru with such audacity?”
`He doesn't recognize me!' Sesshomaru's expression stayed cold and unflinching as he raised his hand, poison dripping from his claws, and in the blink of an eye he was in front of me. But Corth was as well, ready to do battle.
“Sesshomaru, you know you will not win this battle. Stand down and tell us what happened to your brother and father.”
“Human do not assume you know so much about my abilities. As for my brother he stands beside the young miko you are with. This is all you shall know. Now DIE!!” Sesshomaru was getting ready to attack Corth, but I couldn't let this happen. I'd seen the results of the last battle, I didn't want to again.
“STOP!” I was in between them now. `This is way too close to be to either of them when they're like this.' I could feel my heart begin to race from the close proximity of both men. `Alright calm down. You have to stay focused.' Taking a deep breath I tried to reason with them. “Sesshomaru, don't you recognize us? And what do you mean that's your brother. He's not but 7 years old, that can't be him.”
`She is getting more and more confused by the minute…hmmmm.. I wonder is we'd be able to tell with….'
“Lilia, Where is the bio-reader?”
“Capsule 269. You have it.”
“Okay.” He took out the capsule and clicked it. When the smoke cleared, a small mechanical device was left. Picking it up he held it in front of Sesshomaru and arched his brow at the reading he was getting from it. Then, he turned toward Inuyasha and held the device in his direction. “Strange…”
“Enough of this nonsense! Human, you have stalled my task long enough.” Sesshomaru raised his poison laden claws once again to strike me down.
`Oh shit! He really doesn't know us!' Before he had a chance to kill me though, Corth was on him.
“Sesshomaru, I don't care what Lilia's purpose is, I know mine and you will not keep me from protecting her!”
Sesshomaru snarled at him as he shoved Corth off of himself. Getting up quickly from where he had been pinned, Sesshomaru attacked, but Corth blocked and countered every attack easily.
“Inuyasha shouldn't we help him?!” Kagome looked very worried for some reason.
“Why Kagome? He's doing fine on his own.” Sango answered before Inuyasha had the chance. “It looks more like Sesshomaru is the one that needs help.”
Hearing this, Sesshomaru's eyes went red with his anger and his attacks got harder for Corth to block. His anger seemed to fuel his attacks, as well as his embarrassment at not being able to take Corth down. Corth in turn, became more infuriated and he pinned Sesshomaru to the ground once more, to try and beat him senseless.
“Corth! Don't kill him please!” I could feel hot tears streaming down my face as I pleaded with my friend.
“Lilia. He doesn't deserve you. He deserves to die… why do you want him to live? He'll just do this again. He has before!” Corth was almost crying from his rage.
“You know that if he dies by your hands I will too. I was made to be his companion, to help him find happiness. You know this Corth. I will die without him. So if you want me dead too, kill him. Corth slowly let go of Sesshomaru's throat and started to walk away but he turned back to him.
“If you hurt her, so help me, I will make sure your life is a living hell.” Corth's captured fury and tears was evident in his voice as he threatened him. Sesshomaru got up, snarled and left.

In the sky above, concealed by a cloud and magic, is a visitor.
`Naraku will love to have this being under his control. I better let him know about this mysterious creature.' With that the onlooker left on a large, white feather to find her master.

“Corth, Sango is right! You can't be human. No human could have given Sesshomaru such an ass-beatin'!” Inuyasha was rolling from his laughter, when Kagome gave him a pleading look asking him to be quiet.
Miroku didn't like seeing Lilia melancholic as she was. “Lady Lilia, may I ask what Sesshomaru is to you?”
“Did you not hear what I told Corth when he was about to kill Sesshomaru?”
“Yes, I heard, but I wish to know if your emotions for him are merely you performing your purpose, or something more.”
“I- I don't know. I need to be alone right now.” I started to walk into the forest, when Kagome came running up beside me to walk with me. When we were a short distance from the group she spoke.
“There's a hot spring nearby if you want to take a bath. It's a good way to relax when you've got a lot on your mind.” Her voice was hushed as if she wished to comfort me but didn't know how. “If you want to talk about it, I'm here. And I won't say that I understand because I don't. I used to think that my life was complicated, with all of the time traveling and such, but I guess I was wrong. Our group seems to have very unique people. If you and Corth want to join us I'm sure the others wouldn't mind.”
`Yup, She's trying to comfort me' Sighing I answered her. “Kagome I don't think Sango would like that much.”
“Oh, she'll come around. She's just uneasy around strangers that are stronger than her. Which reminds me, I was just wondering, Are you as strong as Corth?”
“Well that's hard to say. Corth's strength changes with Sesshomaru's. He's made to adapt to Sesshomaru's strength so he can't kill me. I am very strong and I'm a good fighter, but I can't hurt Sesshomaru. So I will always be weaker than him…hmmm… I guess that means that I will always be weaker than Corth.”
“Oh, well here's the hot spring! Do you still want to be alone?”
“Yes, I need to sort through some things. Thank you Kagome.”
“Don't worry about it! Enjoy the hot springs” Kagome grinned and went back to the group.
`How is she so trusting?' puzzled I pulled out the capsule with my bathing supplies clicked it and disrobed, slowly getting into the spring.
“Ahh…this is nice.”
*shortly after Lilia and Kagome left*
“Corth, I'm sorry for earlier. It's just hard to tell if you can trust anyone with strength like yours.”
“Sango, don't worry about it. I'm used to people not trusting me, but it's not everyday that I meet a human that has the strength to threaten me, much less a woman.” Corth was laughing along with everyone else.
“I'm glad you're on our side! You could probably beat Inuyasha! Eeep!!” Shippo had come out of hiding and was perched upon Miroku's shoulder until Inuyasha got him. Inuyasha's growl was barely discernable above everyone else's laughter. Although Shippou's scream was obvious.
Kagome came back to find everyone laughing and having fun. `Maybe Lilia will be happy as well.'
