Chapter 5

Into the past : Part 1

“The `Cave of Nightmares'?” asked a puzzled Kagome.

“What's the Cave of Nightmares?” Shippo asked, his curiousness showing since he was bouncing up and down.

“The Cave of Nightmares is a horrible place.” She said while crossing her arms and shaking her head. “This one cave holds all the nightmares in the world, if you can believe it. If you get any closer to the heart of the cave than you would be haunted by your worst nightmares. Do you remember this place, Inuyasha?”

“ Hmm…” he said as old memories played back in his head.

“Inuyasha! Stop!”

“Huh? Oh hey Saffren, Cephren!” Said the young hanyou known as Inuyasha.

~Slap~

“Hey!” he said while rubbing his face, “What'd you do that for, Cephren!”

“You Baka! You know we aren't supposed to come here!” said a mad looking Cephren, “It's Dangerous!”

“Yeah, so!” he said still taken aback that she had actually hit him. “You shouldn't go hitting people like that ya know!”

“Well that was for your own good! Let's go, ok?” she said and offered him a hand.

“Feh, Whatever.”

“What are you thinking about, Inuyasha?” Saffren asked, hoping that he would remember what happened years ago.

“Feh,”

“Yep, I was right. He does remember.” Saffren said and sighed, as she knew what was coming next.

“What? What do I remember?” he asked, hoping that she would not tell everyone about the day he had actually been slapped by a girl.

She looked at him and studied the hope in his eyes and then said, “I'll tell you guys later, but let's get going, this is going to be one hell of a trip.”

“ Saffren, how are we going to get any farther when you said that if we did we would be haunted by our worst nightmares?” asked Miroku.

“That,” she said and pulled out her sword. “Will be my job.”

“Ah my head…”

`Oh great. Now I'm in yet another unknown place. Super.' She thought as she started to get up, looking around as she did.

It seemed to be a forest. But there was something vaguely familiar to her.

`Hmm. Its way too quiet.' She thought as she heard a rustling behind her and turned around to see what it was.

She stared in shock at what was in front her. There standing in front of her was a young girl around the age of 6 with two beautiful yellow/orange eyes, her bangs two golden locks that barely reached her shoulders, while the rest of her hair was orange and reached her shoulders as well. On top of her head were two cute wolf/fox ears and in the middle of her forehead was an ivory horn. She was wearing a red kimono that had gold around the edges of the sleeves and the bottom of her kimono, and also wore a golden sash. She had fangs, and ivory talons on her hands and feet. Coming out of the back of her kimono was a tail of fire glowing intensely as the sun shined on it.

` It's me.'

“What do you mean your job?” Shippo asked.

“I'm the only one that can break this barrier but after, and no Inuyasha you con not use the backlash wave.” Saffren said calmly.

“And what do you mean be that? You know I could just use my backlash wave and break the barrier!” Inuyasha asked, now growing impatient because he had no idea what the hell she meant when she said he couldn't use the backlash wave.

“Your backlash wave isn't strong enough Inuyasha. Only I can break this barrier.” she said and started to walk away, but was only to be stopped by Inuyasha grabbing onto her wrist.

“You'd better be careful.” He said as he let go of her wrist.

“Don't worry Inuyasha, I'll be fine.” She said and smiled. “ Now stand back.”

She then untied her hair and let it fall down her back, as she held up her crystal ball and begin to chant:

“Selece!”

“Here my plea,”

“Undo this spell,”

“That is on me!”

She then started to glow as a vortex of water surrounded her.

“Let us be one again,”

“So I can protect my family and friends!”

“Selece!”

When she was completely surrounded by the vortex, suddenly a blue dragon appeared and merged itself into the vortex of water.

As soon as the dragon had disappeared, the vortex dispersed to reveal something that was quite shocking, indeed.

“Saffren!?”

“Cayren!” called a voice.

Both girls then turned to find a young Salcen and Cinron.

`C-Ce-Ceffron?!' Cephren thought. ` No,….it-it can't be…this really is my memories,… damn you Yukina….damn you to hell.'

“Hey Salcen! Hey Cinron!” Cayren called back to her two sisters.

Salcen had beautiful sapphire hair that was put in two high pigtails, while her eyes were a beautiful gold. In the middle of her forehead was a blue crystal that had two golden colored (I have no clue what they are called so…I'll just say antennas>.< I'm so stupid! I'm the on that made her and I don't know what that thing is called!) antennas curving around the crystal. She was wearing a blue kimono that had gold around the edges of the sleeves and the bottom of the kimono. She also had fangs, and had talons on her hands and feet. Around each of her ankles, was a golden ribbon and coming out of her back were two baby dragon wings.

Now Cinron was the opposite of her other two sisters, but, you could tell they're related. Cinron had golden hair that shined in the sun, and was put in a high ponytail, while her eyes were a shimmering green. In the middle of her forehead was a beautiful green crystal, and was wearing a green kimono, with gold around the edges and around the bottom of the kimono, and on her feet were two golden pointe shoes that her mother had given her.

“Mom said it's time to come home. It's time for dinner!” Cinron said and all of them squealed because they loved her cooking.

“Race ya home.” Cayren said as the competition danced in her eyes.

“Your on!” Salcen said, and they all started to get in a line.

“On you mark,… Get set,” Cayren said and then looked around to make sure everyone was ready.

“GO!”

Saffren looked totally different. Her hair was now a beautiful sapphire, and was in two low pigtails. She had now, instead of just a blue crystal, she now had a bigger blue crystal that had two golden colored (I have no clue what they are called so…I'll just say antennas>.< I'm so stupid! I'm the on that made her and I don't know what that thing is called!) antennas curving around the crystal. Her eyes were now a stunning gold, and she had two dragon wings coming out of her back. She was wearing armor (kinda like Kougas, but only reaches a little above her belly button.) that had golden buckles, and on the top half was the same color like her hair, and the bottom half was gray. She wore black pants that had two silver dragon claws, and on her ankles there was one golden ribbon each, wrapped around them. Her feet had big silver talons on them, just like a dragons, and she had silver talons and fangs.

They all watched as she, completely ignored them, and started walking towards the barrier and then stop at the edge as she stared what was the realm of nightmares.

“Saffren, what happened to y-” Sango started to say, only to be cut off.

“Not now guys, I got to act fast.” She said and jumped up holding her sword above her head.

“DRAGON'S STRIKE!” she yelled, and sliced through the barrier as if it were paper.

She landed gracefully on the ground, and then stood up and sheathed her sword as she turned around.

“Come on!” she said and gestured them to follow her into the heart of the cave.

`Cayren, please be ok.'
