Lost In Your Eyes

Summary: You can tell a persons true feelings by simply studying their eyes.
But what happens when you've been trying so hard to find what your looking for, that you actually miss it?

Kagome grasped the edges of the well to lift herself up, and as usual a pair of golden eyes met her on the way.
"Oh Hi InuYasha" she said cheerily waving him off.
"What took you so long?!" he stated more then asked
She gazed at him for a second then snapped
"Jeez it's only been two days...I have a life too ya know!!!"
'Great now I sound like I don't wanna be near him' she thought loking away.
InuYasha finally snapepd back to reality aswell.
"Yea but you wasted two days when we coulda been.." he looked away when the thought of how close their faces actually were.
A blush arose on his cheeks.
"Uhhh InuYasha...are you ok?"
"Huh yea I just .." He looked at her again .He was so close to her lips he was tempted on kissing her.
"Just what?"
"O right you wasted two days when we coulda been ..hunting for shards"
"Oh right" she said lowly
He picked her off the ground and they walked to the hut.
It was long and quiet until the reached the hut when a little squeal interrupted it.
"KAGOME!!!!!" squealed the happy kitsune.
"Shippoe-chan how are you?"
"InuYasha's been soo mean to me since you left."
"Typical" she mumbles.
"Please Shippoe it's only been two days" snapped the angry hanyou
Shippoe only grunted and clung to Kagome .
"Shippoe" he growled
'Stupid runt...get off my ...uh Kagome..'
InuYasha yanked Shippoe off Kagome's shoulders and tossed him over his.
"INUYASHA!!!"
"What?!"
"OSUWARI!!!!" she screamed sending him plummeting to the ground
"ggrrrggmmmgffff"
"Whaddya say?"
He got off the ground and spat the dirt out
"Nothing"
"Thought so" she said smart mouthy
Kagome sat there in a daze until another familiar voice yelled
"KAGOME!!"
"SANGO!!!" they ran and hugged
Miroku sat in a strange gaze
"Hentai get that thought outta your mind!" InuYasha yelled hitting him
"Haha funny" he said sarcastically
The girls released and walked over.
"Kagome did you bring me any treats??"
She giggled and pulled a bag of chips out of her large bag.
Later in the day around dark Kagome and Sango headed to the hotsprings
They glided to the epicenter of its heat and sat on rocks
"Kagome why do you go home so much now?"
Sango asked wonderingly
"I don't know..I guess I'm trying to run away from my problems here only to find more when I get home"
"What are the problems here?"
"InuYasha" they chorused
"Right how could I forget"
"Well it's not that but lately his we...aura has been changing and in his eyes"
"His eyes?"
"Hai you can tell allot about how a person feels by their eyes"
"Well then how does he feel?"
"Like he misses me ..or even loves me...but thats"
"Right"
"What?"
"Thats right..he hates when you leave ..al he can do is sigh ."
"Well thats because I'm the shard hunter"
"Nope...he loves you."
"Thats immpossible...Kikyo ...I mean he loves her"
"He hates her"
They spoke no longer, and walked back to the hut right after changing
Sango, Miroku, Kilala and Shippoe had allready whent to bed
Shippoe cuddled next to Kilala for sake that Kagome wasnt yet in bed.
InuYasha and Kagome sat by the fire in the other room
InuYasha looked deep into the flaming embers and looked solace
Kagome looked into his deep golden eyes and asked
"Inu whats wrong??"
He looked up . His eyes were painful and strong.
"InuYasha?"
"What!"
"Whats wrong??"
"Nothing"
"InuYasha"
'Why is it she can send shivers up and down my spine just by saying my name'
"I don't wanna talk about it"
"Please" she pleaded
his eyes looked suddenly hopeful as he realized how they their faces were once more.
'She at a length were I can kiss her. But she'll sit me'
She stared into eyes again
"What!?" he queried
"Ya know you can tell alot about how someone feels by just looking in their eyes"
"Well then.... how do I fell now?!"
"Confused...Hurt....and ...."
"And what??"
"I can't believe I missed it?"
'Does she know?'
"Missed what! "
"Love...you hold allot of love for someone..."
His eyes widened
"Kikyo isn't it?"
His eyes slowly fell shut
"No!"
"Then who??"
"I ..uh....You" he said lowering his gaze to the floor
"What??"
"I love you"
"I love you too"
"I know you don't but...what?"
"I love you too"
He searched her eyes and leaned into a deep kiss
They parted and held each other as they went to sleep.
