Lost Innocence

she has experienced things no teen has ever. But some how she held onto her child like innocence all up until one point where she is forced to chose her world or her love.....

Kagome walked through the shrine to the well house...
"Bye mom " she remembered yelling over her shoulder.
She would have said more, but she had no clue today would be the last battle...the last chance she would have to see those who'd mattered so much to her. If she had known she wouldn't have been so hasty to leave.
She wanted out of there as fast as she could. Her mother had been nagging her about her future once again.
*************************Flash Back**************************************
"Kagome sweetie, you need to end your trips to the fuedal era...I know you love InuYasha and your friends but what of your future...if you keep failing your classes you won't have a good one."
"What if I want to stay there?! Huh that would be good enough..get off my back mom I can handle it" she screamed
"Dear I just think you should get your priorities straitend out"
"My priorities are straitend out mother...My friends come first..not my future...and certainly not the people who down it!!!" she screamed before running ...
" Bye mom" she called over her shoulder before diving into the streams of time

She crossed over to the time where none of that crap mattered.

<I still remember the world
From the eyes of a child>

'Hmph InuYasha will take care of me...won't he'
She tossed that thought away. What mattered now was to get the remaining shards. InuYasha met her at the well.
"Kagome...come on Naraku has been found ...this time we'll kill him and we'll have all the shards..."
"Great !!!" She exclaimed with joy.
He picked her out of the tiny well.
"Sango and Miroku are allready checking out the damage. They asked me to come get you "
Kagome looked away for a moment...
"Kagome..." He pulled her chin to make her look at him
"It'll be ok I promise...I won't let anything happen to you"
"Arigotu but thats not what I'm worried about." She said climbing onto his back
"Whats wrong?" He looked honestly worried
"What happens when we finish the jewl and kill Naraku...?"
"I don't know...." He paused then continued more hopefully. "You could stay here ."
"What purpose would I have here?" she asked oblivious to his previous question
"I mean with me"
'Is she this oblivious or did I not notice something..' he thought.

<Slowly those feelings
Were clouded by what I know now>

"Really? You want me here? I thought I was a bother.."
He sighed heavily.." Do what ever you want then" he said giving up as they reached the battle ground.
"Kagome good to see your here ...but not under such circumstances."
"Agreed" Sango added blocking Kagura's Dance of Blades
Kagome checked for the damage.
"Everyone ok?" she asked
"Yes" "Fine " and"Of course" echoed through the field.
Dead demons lay cluttered throught the bloody mess.
The ground no longer was green it was now a crimson river.
torn body parts lay scatered. Kagome, if she had just come upon this, would have freaked yet all the years of coming here have proven vital for this one moment of time.

An uneven trade for the real world>


"SANGO LOOK OUT!!!" Kagome screamed for her airborn posistion. Sango moved, barely dodging the flying tentacle, but not dodging it enough. The tentacle peirced her side, leaving her in a fight against death. Blood poured from her friends body.
"SANGO " Miroku cried out.
"Miroku I'll take care of her...go help InuYasha " Kagome screamed
He grimaced and then agreed.
Kagome ran to her best friends side.
"Sango it'll be ok I got the bandages here and ..."
"Kagome...I've lost to...much blood..." she coughed and more came up.
"No and I'm not giving up with out a try" Kagome snapped at her friend for such thoughts.
Sango removed the broken armor and revealed her torn stomache.
Kagome put medicine on it "This may sting ok"
"Ahh.....its...ok..." she winced at the burning,..
Kagome got her wrapped up and set her next to the Goshinbuku
"Sango stay here...Kilala will portect you and I'll put up a barrier..I just learned how to make it stay..." She said trying to get her friend to laugh...Sango meerly smiled. "Thank you Kagome"
Kagome walked away a few feet and placed her hands to the ground.
She muttered an enchantment and a pink barrier surrounded Sango and Kilala. Sango leaned against her two tailed friend.
Kagome returned to the battle.
Miroku lay in a pool of his own blood.
'Great got done with Sango now Miroku'
"Kagome take care of Miroku I can hold off Naraku till you get back!!!" InuYasha screamed
"Ok " I yelled back
I run over to Miroku and help him limp his way over to the safe area I made . I pulled him under the shield.
"Miroku what happend?" I asked as calmly as possible
"My chest..." He coughed hard
"Miroku ..hold on.." I yank the top half of his robes off.
His muscular chest was torn to shreds .
'Whats holding him together...' Kagome thought.
Miroku coughed once more while Kagome was working on him..then he slowly died.
"MIROKU..." Sango cried out....
"Sango I'm sorry...I tried..."
"It's not your fault Kagome" Sango cried.
Sango cried hard. I cried for her as well.
"Sango I'll be right back I have to help InuYasha ...Shippoe take care of her she knows the bandage rouine if you get stuck call me I'll come.."
"Ok Kagome"
Kagome ran through the barrier and to the battle.
"InuYasha are you ok?"
"Yea ...shoot the arrow I think I got it"
"Got what?"
"The timming down Come one shoot on my mark..
3...." Kagome readied the arrow..."2......" she aimed
"1 NOW SHOOT NOW!!!" she shot the arrow and InuYasha
screamed "WIND SCAR!!!" ...The two flaming attacks hit the spider scar on his back...a cold harsh wind delivered to his death

Kagome ran to the barrier to tell Sango the good news..
"SANGO ...IT'S OVER WE WON!!!" Kagome screamed
when she got to the barrier she saw Sango laying over Miroku's dead body, she was dead. She has used her sword and stabbed herself.
Kagome fell to the ground crying. InuYasha ran over to her side. He cradled her in his arms while she sobbed over the loss of her friends.

<I want to go back to
Believing in everything and knowing nothing at all>

"Kagome...everything is ok...we can wish them back!!" he said
"But you wanna be full demon dontcha"
"I'd rather you be happy"
"But..."
"I love you, Kagome..I want you to be happy. We will wish our friends back.ok"
"But what if ..."
"No..no what if's no anything..now lets wish them back"
A cold shiver went down her spine.
"InuYasha somethings...wrong"
"What ? whats wrong...Naraku's dead...what else could there be..."
"Kikyo" One word slipped Kagome's lips along with a tear.
They felt a cold wind blow as the woman appeared.

<I still remember the sun
Always warm on my back
Somehow it seems colder now>

"InuYasha I have come to take you to hell with me. Naraku is dead you have avenged me..."
"That just it ..I have avenged you so I'm not going to hellwith you I'm staying here with Kagome"
Kikyo took one step towards the living miko and InuYasha slashed her.
InuYasha hadned Kagome the jewl.
"Make your wish Kagome."
She concentrated for a moment and the jewl glowed pink.
A miko came to her.
"Your wish please" the voice asked.
"For everyone that was harmed by Naraku or the jewl to be healed and those killed by him to live again.For Sango to have her brother Kohaku back and for Sango and Mioku to live and be happy together"
"What of yourself."
"I'm fine."
Her wish was granted. Sango and Miroku awoke a few moments later only to see Kagome huunched over by the well, tears streaming down her cheeks and she seemed to stare into nothing. She didn't move and didn't blink.
"Kagome please,....answer me" they saw InuYasha crying by Kagome.
"InuYasha whats wrong.?"
"It's Kagome...she won't answer me, she won't move..the well closed and she just sits there.
"How long ago?"
"Around 4 hours or so" he shockingly said.
He crouched infront of her once more.
He shook her carefully and when she didnt respond then more forcefully.
"Kagome....KAGOME PLEASE WAKE UP!!!" he shouted crying by her frozen form.
"InuYasha leave her a moment ...maybe she'll come to"
She blinked once and tears fell from her eyes.
"Ka--kagome..."
"I didn't even get to say goodbye" she cried before flinging herself into his arms.
"Kagome its ok"
"No its not I had a fight with my mom before I left and I told her I hated her ...I didn't mean it" she cried
"They know that...they knew you love them..please don't cry."

<Where has my heart gone
Trapped in the eyes of a stranger>

"I didn't think this would happen...I mean...."
"You didnt wanna stay?"
"I wanted to be with my family...but I want to stay....."
"Kagome...I'm sorry..."
" I love you"
"You what?"
"I love you...if Im going to stay I need to be honest with you..."
"I love you too" he kissed her
"Will you be my mate?" he asked...she nodded her head .
"Will you be happy here?"
"I will now" she said calmed down.
he placed his chin on her head as she fell into a silent slumber.
