Prologue - The History Between Vampires and Angels
<hr>
Years and years ago, before the world became advanced, during a time when there were considered several types of gods and goddesses, angels and vampires lived in a relative peace, a peace that was based on the Rules of Society, rules that only angels and vampires followed, for, back then, just like the humans worshipped the gods, they also worshipped the vampires and angels. Also, all of the Rules of Society had to do with humans, with the exception of one.
The Rules of Society followed as thus:
Angels and Vampires would never fight among each other, for they are one and the same, only belonging to different gods.
Angels and Vampires, upon finding a human they want, will let all of their kind and that of the Angels and Humans know, so any who tries to take one coveted by another cannot do so.
Angels and Vampires will never pursue another's coveted human, for punishment of Death.
Vampires will only ever be able to control a human fully upon making them one of their own if the human gives all of themselves to the Vampire, including that which makes them innocent.
Angels will only ever be able to fully guide a human on the path of righteousness should the human give them their full trust, an act that can only be performed with a ritual that can kill the human.
Vampires shall not target humans who have been released by Angels upon finding the path of righteousness; Angels shall not target humans that have been released by vampires and remain untransformed.
These rules, which have been in effect for millions of years, haven't been broken yet. Angels and vampires have gotten together themselves, in ways that have made those who are half of each, though they never marry. The child made of such a union lives among humans, as a protector for them against rogues. Angels and vampires who have transformed into something evil and are no longer what they used to be.
The rules were always easy to follow, for vampires and angels have always had differences in those they want. Vampires have always preferred those who are innocent in almost all ways; angels prefer those who have committed great evil, or those who are silently calling out for help, whether they are aware of it or not.
However, as it is bound to happen sometimes, a human woman, innocent yet silently screaming for help, caught the attention of a vampire and an angel. As was custom, both went to fulfill the rules, yet, like when they had first set sight on the woman, they both presented the woman at the same time.
It was this that started the wars. Vampires and angels, both in an effort to help their side, began to kill those on opposite sides. Where there once was beauty and peace, there was now ugliness and bloodshed.
The war lasted for centuries; many were killed, though the majority of those killed were the halflings who protected the humans, and the humans themselves, including the woman who originally started the war, unintentionally.
When it became clear to some of the ones who did not actively participate in the war, four of them got together. Moria, Alexander, Moragana, and Alister were slightly different compared to the one who fought. While Morgana and Moria, angels, tended to injured angels, and Alexander and Alister tended to injured vampires, they both tended to the humans, knowing that it was important that they lived.
It was after trying to resuce many of the humans that Moria figured out something; if the war kept going, there would be no more humans, and the vampires and angels would eventually die out, for both were could only survive on humans. Vampires needed humans for blood, and angels needed them in order to have someone to help, as that was their nature.
That was the reason why those four got together; to discuss any way to make all the fighting end. It took them days to figure out a suitible plan, for neither side were willing to give in. Finally, though, they came up with one. Angels, who were originally for a different dimension, had certain powers that they used to guide a person, powers that made them not really have to appear, for they could help out while invisible to the one they want to help, making it so that they didn't have to be near the one they were helping to help.
It was that fact that caused Alexander to suggest the angels leave, go back to their real home. It wasn't that he was being mean, but - unlike angels - the vampires came from the Earth itself, making it their true home, while the angels were just visitors that had decided to stay. Moria and Moragana agreed.
That was how the angels and vampires separated, the angels returning to their homeworld, only to visit the humans during dreams, while the vampires stayed on Earth. The angels agreed that they belonged in their home world.
However, angels were still allowed on Earth, though not many went there; it was only after the world had begun to change that more and more came. While angels were allowed on Earth, however, they had a time limit on how long they could stay. They were only allowed to stay a total of seven days a year, for they were afraid that the angels would get comfortable on earth again, and spark off another war.
However, while most angels who went were willing and did it of their own free will, there were few who didn't not go of free will. Those who didn't were the banished.
Angels were banished from heaven when they did something they weren't supposed to do, something that could cause a human to kill themselves - or worse, a human to die because of them. Those that were banished were sent to Earth forever, never allowed back up in heaven, only allowed to be visited on earth by others of their kind.
The banished angels had most of their powers taken away, rendering them near mortal. Those banished, of course, were allowed to have their powers returned to them, but it took a willpower that many lost, as well as a sacrifice and a protective love to regain them. Many banished angels, however, never found the will, sacrifice, and love that it took, and remained on earth until they could.
This is a story about one of the banished angels, the one named… Inuyasha.
