Lost Paradise
1: Arriving
"...Where it is ninety degrees in the nightly shade, and the sun never stops shining. Welcome to your paradise, and enjoy your stay in beautiful Cancun." The flight attendant announced as the plane came down from its high altitude to land lightly on the runway at Cancun International Airport.
"Oh Sango, this is so gorgeous. Look around, even the airport is wonderful." Kagome glanced over at her best friends slender figure, attempting not to throw up from the effects of the plane ride.
"Yes Kagome, I am sure it will be even more gorgeous when I am out of the plane, and on solid ground." Kagome shook her head and smiled at her nervous friend.
Their dream vacation had finally arrived. They had talked about it all of there high school days, and for years after. They were both married now, they had been for two years. They had been best friends for the longest time, and always promised that before they had children they would take an exotic vacation together, as the marking of the end of an era.
"Hey, Kagome, wake up. The plane has finally landed and we can leave now." Kagome snapped to life as she saw that only her and Sango were left on the plane. Sango was anxious to get off and Kagome was holding her back. Kagome quickly grabbed her stuff from the overhead compartment and vacated the plane.
Outside the sun blazed and without the soothing air-conditioning of the plane almost everyone walking into the terminal got a shock of mixed surprise and pleasure. The terminal really wasn't that much to look at; a gate of course and the terminal building itself. Inside the airport the pair collected there luggage from the conveyor belt and started there week long vacation.
Outside of the airport you could see the water park. The water parks in America had nothing on this water park. It had a huge wave pool, just visible from the airport. At least fifteen visible water slides, and a dozen or so pools.
"Wow, Kagome, this place is huge, where the heck are we going to find everything?" Sango, even though she was rather intelligent, did not know a lot about the Spanish language. All throughout her high school career she had taken French. She looked down at the map that was suppose to tell her where to find their hotel. "What the hell? I don't speak Mexican." she responded to the map, as thought it was suppose to answer her. Kagome laughed at her in a friendly tone.
"I got this one Sango, we take a bus to the fourth stop and then get off, walk two blocks this way and find the hotel called 'the Oasis Playa.' " Kagome pointed to the map as she was talking, and Sango nodded as she listened hard to the directions.
"Okay, great." Sango smiled and after a moment of silence said, "So where is the bus station?" Kagome smiled and began walking toward a big gray sign that said "Bus Stop".
As the pair waited for the bus they began to chat like two school girls at lunch.
"I cannot believe Kouga let you come without him. That man is human Crazy-Glue." Kagome smiled at her friend. It was true Kouga was a bit clingy, but him showing her this was how much he trusted them meant the world to her. She covered up this fact by turning the tables to Brandon.
"Oh come on, like Brandon is any better." Kagome replied in a questionable defiance.
" 'like Brandon is any better'? that is the best you got? You suck! Suck, suck, suck... La, la, la."
"Oh shut up Sango. I will leave you hear on this bus bench. I ain't playing." Sango stopped suddenly as two guys came up to them.
"Bonita chicas." One of the guys whispered to his friend. "Habla espanol?" he spoke loudly so that the two girls could hear him clearly.
"Si, yo hablo espanol. Como esta usted?" Kagome answered in a perfect accent that made Sango want to hurl.
"Bien. Y usted?" The man spoke to her.
"Muy bien, porque estoy en Cancun." She replied, and looked around with a smile.
"Si, si." the man replied again, his friend seemed speechless.
"Ok so for us big losers who don't know how to speak Spanish what are you talking about?" The second man finally spoke, with a perfect American accent. Sango giggled at the mans comment and nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, if we had gone to France, I might be all set, but for now, I am kind of lost." Sango added, the second man smiled at her.
"Hey I am Miroku Tenkai. I am from Iowa." He flashed a set of perfect teeth which made Sango smile again.
"Hello," she replied in a cheery tone, "My name is Sango."
"Yeah, my name is Kagome." Kagome, catching up with the flow, added this to the conversation.
"Me llamo Inuyasha Yoko." The Spanish speaking man replied still gazing at Kagome.
"Habla ingles?" Kagome spoke to Inuyasha.
"Si. I speak very good English. I just prefer to speak in Spanish." He spoke with a beautiful accent that was slightly hard to understand, but gorgeous none the less.
"Ah, I see." Sango looked toward Miroku, at least he liked English.
"Ladies," Inuyasha spoke again, "I was wondering if you knew where we could find the 'coconut hut'?" He knew perfectly well where it was, he just wanted a reason to talk to the girls longer.
"We just got here I am not really sure if we know where to find anything." Sango replied in all honesty.
"Oh, no I can find it." Kagome took out the map and began to read it carefully, searching every name.
"Yay, there it is!" she exclaimed. She began to ramble instructions and told the boys exactly where it was located.
"Oh, thank you very much Miss. I hope to be seeing you again." He smiled down at Kagome and then turned to Sango and quickly flashed a smile. They both smiled back sweetly.
"It was no problem at all Senor Yoko." Kagome giggled slightly as Inuyasha began to walk away.
"See ya later Sang, and Kaggy." Miroku smiled at them and began to walk off like any man from America would.
"Its Kagome!" Sango smiled at him and agreed with her new nick-name. The boys walked away around the corner and Kagome glared down the street long after they had turned.
The girls began chatting about the new boys and were quickly interrupted by the stopping of the bus. They both boarded and took their seat. The bus was small and a faded baby blue color.
"I bet they will forget us in like an hour anyway. It's just nice to be friends with the people ya know?"
"Yeah I got ya Kaggy." Sango smiled at her friend as the bus began to move.
As the fourth stop came Kagome and Sango got off and walked the two blocks until they found 'the Oasis Playa' Both girls stood gasping at the gorgeous surroundings. They had never been much further then there home town. Although Sango had been considerably more placed then Kagome; neither girl was expecting this.
"Oh my heavens," Kagome exclaimed. "This is the most gorgeous place I've ever been too. I hate to look like a tourist but where is your camera?"
"Oh, it is in my handbag." Sango pulled out her pink hand bag and got out the camera. It was a really nice one that Bradon had bought for her, especially for this trip.
The two girls, after taking a numerous amount of pictures, entered the Resort. The man at the front desk, Shippo, was very sweet and helped them check in and got them situated in their room.
"Oh gosh, this air conditioning is heaven compared to the temperature outside." Sango sat down on the bed and began to fix her hair.
"Yeah it is, hold up!" Kagome looked around quickly, "There is only one bed dude. Where is my bed?" Kagome looked kind of silly looking around as though she expected it to pop up in front of her.
"Well, this is a king bed Hun, I guess we have to share." Sango smiled at Kagome and giggled.
"Fine. I don't think we should go out tonight." Kagome said changing the topic of conversation, "I mean, we just got in, we should rest up before we go gallivanting in a strange town."
"I agree. Let's go to the Hotel restaurant for dinner." Kagome nodded in agreement and began to change for dinner.
After a long dinner, and a quick walk around the Resort the two girls returned to their room. The girls got undressed from their dinner attire, Kagome in a light purple outfit with a white tank top, and Sango in a peach skirt and tan top. After the girls had finished washing their faces and brushing their teeth they sat on the bed and began to chat and watch TV; like any set of best friends one would see.
"Great, now we can watch stupid soaps, in Spanish!" Sango was staring at the TV with a confused glazy look in her eyes.
"Hold on, I know what is happening. Maria found out that Roberto cheated on her with," a brief pause came before Kagome finished her sentence, "with Clemente? Oh gee, this is even worse then American soaps."
"Ah, hello, Jack was gay." Sango pointed out the obvious about her favorite teenage soap drama, Dawson's Creek .
"Well, yeah, I guess you are right. Will and Grace too. Oh well, its not so bad." Kagome and Sango began to giggle together just like they did in high school.
After a few hours of meaningless conversation, the two girls got tired, and bored, and fell asleep, not knowing what adventures still awaited them in Cancun.

Also, I don't fluently speak Spanish so if I screwed up word order or spelling whatever, sorry. . . didn't mean to ^_^
