History 411:

Heaven and hell have been fighting over the human soul for over centuries upon centuries. The best warriors were chosen to fight and sent to take part in the endless raging war. Angels who fought gave up their wings and immortality to be replaced by fighting skills, strength and speed. Demons lost their abilities to come back to life, making them just as mortal as the weak humans they lived to hate and consume. Their hard stone bodies turned into flesh and blood, making it possible for them to be killed easily and forcing them to rely on their training skills not their appearance.

Over the past few years, more angels began to perish and even less were sent down for reinforcement. Soon only a few remain and continued on to fight for freedom, but faith wasn't on their side and in the war of 2000, all were killed but three survivors. Over the past years they managed to diminish the demon forces to but a single pack of youaki's in Japan…

Part 1

The night was dark and silent over the streets of Tokyo but the soft sounds of the wind whistling threw the warm air. Stars shone brightly in the dark sky. The moon full and lit the streets in its soft yellow glow.

Buildings that lined up and down the road were silent and still. No light or indication of life seemed to exist in the tall, dark structures. There were no birds chirping, no dogs barked into the darkness… there was no sound at all as the large city sat silently as its people laid to rest.

Small colors of red, orange and yellow rose in the horizon, mimicking a beautiful morning sunrise. The colors slowly began to mix and blend as one, as they grew and spread across the night sky.

Inu Yasha continued to walk away from the bright flames, trying hard to get far enough away so that the light didn't give him away.

Inu Yasha desperately forced his feet to continue to move, getting furious when his body wouldn't move any faster than what it was going. His legs burned from the fresh bruises and wilts, blood trailing down his left leg from the slash in his thigh. His stomach rolled and turned uncomfortably as he felt its containments began to feel unsettling. His head was throbbing with intensity from being beaten and hit so many times. Inu Yasha clenched his chest with one of his clawed hands trying hard to stop the blood from seeping out onto the street underneath him. His once beautiful long silver hair was now matted and stained beyond belief, making it hard to believe that it was any other color then the dark, dirty red it was now. Once in a while a strain would brush against his sore, bruised face and he would bit his lip to prevent himself from wincing at the small, soft touch. Making a trail of blood run from his mouth down to his chin before dripped off and onto the street.

'Bastards!!!' He mentally screamed. Though his body bled and ached with agony, no pain could match the pain he felt in his heart. 'They killed them… THE FUCKING TRADORS!!! THEY KILLED EVERYONE I LOVED AND HELD DEAR!!!'

Inu Yasha turned into an alley, feeling a bit of comfort inside the shadows. They could easily be hiding in them as well, but at this point he didn't really care. He wouldn't hind from them. He would heal and get stronger if only to have the chance to rip their hearts out. And to get revenge for his friends… for his brother…

'Sesshomaru…'

Inu Yasha leaned heavily against the brick wall, panting roughly for much needed air. His lungs turned into liquid fire each time he would inhale deeply, causing him to squeeze his eyes shut as hard as he could to stop the tears that threatened to fall at the pain.

'Bastards…' Hot wet tears leaked down his cheeks. Inu Yasha lifted his arm up and rested his head on his torn leather jacket. He cried silently to himself, feeling helpless for the first time in his life. 'They set it up… The lying, traitorous bastards!'

Inu Yasha lifted his head and looked out of the alley to the bright sky that threatened to assault and eat away at the stars.

'I couldn't save them…Why… Why did I have to live, when they had to die…'

Inu Yasha pushed away from the wall and continued to walk deeper into the shadows of the alley. He was sore, weak and exhausted. There was nothing he wouldn't do to find a warm safe place to stay the night and to get some rest. He didn't know how much longer he'd be able to hold out with as much blood as he lost. Inu Yasha collapsed to his hands and knees. It was difficult to breathe again, his lungs clenching tightly from the lack of oxygen. It felt like he was having a heart attack and that in any minute his chest would explode. He squeezed his eyes shut tightly again, trying desperately to push the pain down and out of his mind but it was no use. The more he tried to ignore it, the worse the pain got. There was no escaping it.

'God…' Inu Yasha groaned, his body throbbed and screamed at him painfully but there was nothing he could do. He didn't know why but he wasn't able to heal himself right now. And if he didn't begin to heal soon, he would die from the amount of blood he lost. '… why don't you just put me out of my fucking misery…'

"Ugh!"

A swift, hard kick to his side sent the youkai into the wall. Inu Yasha grunted his discomfort as he hit the ground on his side. Something cold and sharp was placed beside his neck just under his chin. Slowly Inu Yasha looked up and found himself staring into the beautiful face of his most hated enemy. Her long raven, black hair surround her delicate face and fell down her body to stop half way to her waist. Instantly, Inu Yasha locked his golden eyes with her icy blue-grey ones and couldn't help the small feeling of relief that washed over him.

"Ka… Kagome…"

Everything went dark…
