Part 3
Kagome poured hot water into a large silver bowel, filling it up to the rim. She was a little relieved that she had made it with time to spare, a given bonus that no one was home when she got back.
It wasn't that she wouldn't mind having them here, it was just that it made it easier to set things up without having to answer any questions and explain herself and her actions.
She carefully carried the water into the other room. Sitting it down beside clean towels, wrappings, bandages and butterfly straps on the table beside the futon that she had laid him down on.
She gently went to work removing his clothes, trying her hardest not to cause his wounds to bleed. The edges of his injuries looking mean and red, infection clearly possible to set in if they didn't get treated.
She carried his clothes over to the trashcan, making a short stop at the lint closet to get a clean pair of hakama. Just by removing his clothes had caused a mess on the once clean futon, something she'll have to clean up before the others got back.
Kagome settled back down beside the demon's body, picking p a towel and dipping it into the now semi-warm water. Ringing it out good before lightly patting it around the hole in his chest. Repeating the same process over and over again to each and every one of his wounds until they were clean enough for her to move on.
She changed the water after finishing with the wounds. Using two fresh towels to wash and dry him off.
She started with his upper torso. Wiping away the dirt and dry blood off his chest and shoulders. She did his arms and stomach next, cleaning the layer of filth from his abs. Scraping the grim out from under his claws.
She had to change her water again as she moved on to his bottom half. Washing all evidence of being attacked off. Revealing smooth, tanned legs hard with muscles and a larger than average member.
Kagome fought over the desire to blush. After all, it wasn't the first time that she's seen the male organ. In the past she had washed and dressed Miroku a few times when he was severely wounded from battle, but that was only when Sango was unable to do it herself. If it hadn't bothered her then, why was it affecting her now? And with this demon?
She forced herself to concentrate on dressing his wounds, making a mental not to deal with her confusing thoughts later.
She closed each wound and sealed them shut with the butterfly straps. Using almost an entire box on the one in his chest, wrapping a tight, thick layer of bandages over his chest to keep it from bleeding.
She went about picking her mess up after putting him carefully into a clean pair of hakama's that she had brought out earlier. She returned with another bowl of fresh water, a large bath towel, a hairbrush and a bottle of shampoo.
She set him up in a position where his head was cradled against the edge of the futon, allowing his long hair to fall over down to the floor.
Kagome washed his hair a few times, cleaning away the brown and red that stained the white strands. Making sure that she didn't disturbed the freshly wrapped ear on top of his head and the gash on his forehead. Rinsing and drying his hair with the large towel before separating it to brush out any knots.
She found herself enjoying the way his hair would turn into silk in her hands. The way it sparkled and shined at her as if saying thanks for the gentle care. Without even realizing it, she ran her fingers though his hair until they came to his undamaged ear. Smiling to herself as she scratched the small triangle of white fur, laughing as it twitched under her ministrations.
When she finally finished playing with his ear, she picked him up again and carried him down the hall to her own chambers. Setting him down on the soft mattress; picking up the small needle sitting on the nightstand bedside the headboard. Tapping the side lightly before injecting it into his arm.
The whitish liquid was a drug that they used when they needed to interrogate a demon that they would capture. It didn't enable their abilities to heal, but dulled the senses and weakened the muscles. Leaving them as weak and defenceless as a newborn kitten. And the great thing was that it didn't go into affect until the host was conscious. Allowing it to sit in the veins for hours while they slept, without losing any of its effect or wearing off.
It wasn't that she didn't think he would wake and kill them in the middle of the night, knowing that if someone saved a demon's life that it's part of their code of honour to protect the one that saved them until they repaid the dept. No, it was more of a safety precaution so that he didn't try to move too fast and rip open his wounds if they haven't fully closed and healed by the time he came around.
She threw out the empty needle in the wastebasket beside the bed, draping a thick quilt over his body to keep him warm during the night.
She found herself staring at his sleeping form, admiring the way he looked so peaceful in his sleep. His face relaxed and at ease from all emotions. She knew that she should he angry with herself or disgusted with how she was acting. Instead she found herself blushing the way she had when she was washing him earlier.
Sighing at her weakness, Kagome walked out of the room, closing the door behind her. Making a few more mental notes that as punishment for her "improper" thoughts she was to spend three hours in the training room while she repeated the Assassin's Codes of Honour.
After she finished cleaning the living room.
