Hey guys and gals. It's been a long time since I last updated so here goes another chapter.

Chapter 8: Getting Closer to you

Kagome had asked to go and sit under the large sukura tree when Kaede had finished bandaging her. "Of course child. Here take my hand I'll help you out side."

Kagome now wore an all white kimono. Her hair was pulled back loosely into a ponytail.

Kaede helped her to sit down on the soft grass and then left to gather herbs for the villagers. "Thank you Kaede." Said Kagome. "Your welcome child. And don't worry about ye and Sesshomaru. I will keep it a secret." "Thank you again."

Kagome looked over to were the sounds of laughter came from the fields and saw Shippo and Kilala playing together. But once Shippo saw Kagome he came bounding toward her.

"Kagome are you feeling any better?" he asked gently getting onto her lap.

She smiled at him and nodded. "Yes Shippo I am feeling much better. Thank you."

Inuyasha saw Kagome sitting under the tree and yelled to her.

"Kagome!! Make the runt get over here and take these fucking things off my hands!!"

Kagome looked over to him and laughed. "Shippo get the rocks off of Inuyasha's hands."

"Ok Kagome." With a wave of his hand Shippo made the illusions shrink.

"Why you little brat! Get over here!!"

Inuyasha ran to the tree but before he could grab the kitsune, Shippo ran away. Closely followed by an angry Inuyasha. "Inuyasha cut it out!" pleaded a fleeing kitsune.

Half an hour later Sesshomaru landed carrying a small girl in his arms. Jaken ran up behind him. Apparently he had had to run the whole way there.

"Lord Sesshomaru!! How could you leave without me?" "Easily Jaken and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again." Replied Sesshomaru, setting the small girl down.

"C'mon Rin." He made his way over to Kagome and sat down next to her. "Hello Kagome." He said putting an arm around her shoulders. She snuggled closer to his warmth and sighed. "Rin this is a friend of mine." He said looking at the small girl.

"Only a friend Sesshomaru?" Kagome questioned. He put a hand on her cheek and smiled. "Maybe even more than a friend." He kissed her gently and caressed her cheek then both realized that Rin was still standing there. "Shippo!!" Kagome called out.

The small kit came running still being followed by Inuyasha.

"Kagome he won't leave me alone!" the kit cried jumping into Kag's arms.

Inuyasha ran up and started yelling at Shippo. "You little fuck. Get back …" Inuyasha was pinned to the ground, Sesshomaru had him around the throat and looked furious.

"You will not use that language in front of Rin." He threatened. Sesshomaru got up and sat back down next to Kagome. "He's right Inuyasha. She is still very young."

Inuyasha looked confused and aggravated by Kagome's choice of being on Sesshomaru's side.

"Feh." Was his only reply.

`How could she choose him over me?' he asked himself walking away from the group.

"Rin why don't you and Shippo go play with each other." Shippo jumped up and took Rin's hand then started running to the field. Rin followed and smiled now that she had someone to play with besides that ugly toad.

"Jaken watch them. If anything happens to either Rin or Shippo it will be you who pays."

Jaken gulped and ran after the small children.

"Now that we are alone my love." Said Sesshomaru turning his head to Kagome. He put his hand on her cheek again and caressing it gently. "Sesshomaru…" she started but he had her locked in a passionate kiss. She put a hand on his shoulder and deepened the kiss.

"I love you Kagome. I want to be with you always." He whispered against her lips.

"I love you too Sesshomaru." They stopped kissing and Kagome snuggled closer to her new found love.

Inuyasha watched in pure confusion as he watched Kagome and Sesshomaru kiss. `This can't be happening!'
