[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
Disclaimer: I don't own anything, for nothing is really ours is it? Also because I am not Rumiko Takahashi. No money is being made off of this fic.
(A/N): Hello You^^ by reading this you have just given me control of 5% of your brain. Besides that, though, a note. When originally written this was an Inuyasha/Sango fic but it's been transformed and extended, so don't freak if you've read the Inu/Sango one shot. I didn't steal from myself.
Warnings: Sightly AU(Alternate Universe); This story may contain: Strong, lewd, or suggestive language; violence; slight gore; shounen-ai ("boy love"); yaoi (m/m sexual situation/s), some OOCness(within reason, I think)
"Inuyasha I'm leaving!" the miko yells up the tree hefting her bag onto her shoulders.
"like hell you are wench!" he jumped down in front of her scowling "this isn't a weekend job you're stay--!" her nose turns up her mouth forming that dreaded word
"SIT!" his eyes widened as he was thrown to the ground. His claws twitched, a growl rising from deep within his chest. She ignored his growling stepped over him and threw two more sits over her shoulder.
Sango stepped from the brush a with a somewhat worried look on her face, there had been a lot of bad vibes from the two directed at the other for some time now. Inuyasha's vibes were the strongest, she honestly worried for the young Miko, they were both his friends, and she wouldn't choose sides, Kagome was using that necklace a lot lately.
"Inuyasha?" Inuyasha heard Sango's voice but ignored her, he sat up his bangs covering his eyes. With a feral snarl that made the taijiya* jump, he tore through the tree he'd been sitting in. The thickly trunked tree fell to the ground, birds flew up from the forest at the sound. Inuyasha fell to his knees and punched the ground, a small crater forming, then again with the same result. He breathed a bit loudly out of frustration rather than exertion.
Sango tightened his grip on her Hiraikotsu. Inuyasha sat there his eyes still covered by his hair, regaining his composure. Sango had never seen Inuyasha friend act this way, he got angry after Kagome left sure, but this was different. She was sure he'd felt Inuyasha's youki spike. She wondered if Tetsusaiga not been there would he have transformed? She calls his name a again "Inuyasha are you alright?" She steps back when Inuyasha finally stands. He throws a glance at the woman, leaping off into the forest.
"Inuyasha wait!" She took a few steps forward and stopped. She sighs "Inuyasha . . .". She looked towards the direction of the well. Was this the result of Kagome's actions? Inuyasha was part demon, and any man would dislike his authority undermined, she just hoped her hanyou companion kept his sword with him. With a final look into the forest she heads back towards the village to give him some space.

Inuyasha's mind raced as he ran, trying to think straight. He found himself stopping at the edge of a lake being filled by a waterfall, and the water being let out through a narrow river. He sat himself on a rock and breathed deep, closing his eyes, letting the sound of the waterfall calm him. 'How could I almost loose control like that? What she did wasn't even big . . .but I guess the pattern is what caused it all, if i hadn't had Tetsusaiga what would have happened? I could killed Kagome! I would hate myself if I ever did that, I wouldn't be able to live with myself . . . she doesn't deserve death' he opened his eyes.
He watched as a butterfly fluttered by and was caught in a spiders web, the spider stepped out from hiding and went to kill and bind the butterfly. He let his head fall back, 'the butterfly didn't deserve death either . . but it will die, because it flew into the spiders trap. When you think about it, it's paying for it's ignorance . . .what am I getting at? Do I believe on some level, that Kagome needs to pay?'
He let his chin fall down to his chest, his hands clenched, his claws scraping the rock's surface. He took another breath, his ears turned towards the falls. 'What am I thinking?, I spend so much time trying to convince my pack I'm the monster the villagers believe I am, and when I start thinking like one, I want to stop.' he pauses in thinking 'My pack, yeh . . .and Kagome would be my lead female . . or mate rather. I 'm not so sure . . . I want that anymore.'
He stands as the sun hovered halfway below the tree line. Kneeling at the waters edge he takes a drink of water. Flicking his wrists to get some of the water off, he looks into the forest behind him. He'd been gone a while 'I wonder if they even care . . .-sighs- of course they do, why won't my mind stop doubting everyone . . .I can't even my own so-called pack, not even the woman I once loved . . . did I even love her?' He wanted someone to blame 'It's his fault, he made me this way. Damn you Sesshoumaru, you were never a brother to me, your own flesh and blood. you're better to that human girl than you ever were to me. You would have left me with Naraku to die, and damn you father. You weren't supposed to die, you were supposed to stay and raise me, protect me, and Mother too!' Hot tears fell as his childhood flashed before him on a mental projection screen, leaving trails down his cheeks, he wipped them away angrily but they kept coming 'damn you Kikyo . . for making me trust you . . . for using me . . .making my life hell. Damn . . .you, Kagome. . . just damn you.'

Miroku makes his way through the brush, Inuyasha had been gone a while and they'd been beginning to worry. Sango Shippo and Kirara had stayed to protect the village. he continues on trying to sense Inuyasha's unique aura. Suddenly there's a familiar grunt and a boom not so much. Cautiously he approaches the sound 'Inuyasha, is he ok?'. Pulling back a low branch, her eyes widen 'it's him' He watched as Inuyasha falls into a sit. Fingers picking up small pieces of rock and throwing them into the lake under the fall. 'What is he doing?'
He catches a glimpse of his face as he throws a stone particularly hard 'Inuyasha' Miroku's face tilts downward 'Kagome . . .it was bound to happen' His brow creases 'I would never have made him this way' He stops the thought. He watched as he stopped suddenly and sniffed the air a few times and pausing before knocking the broken pieces away and pulling his knees to his chest. His arms over them slowly, his head bowing into his arms.
'I should go comfort him . . but . . would he allow me? It doesn't matter--I should, he would do so for me . . in his own /Inuyasha/ way' a small smile graces his features ' I will'. Carefully stepping out of the brush Miroku approaches his companion, stopping his advance when his shoulders tensed and his ears turn back in his direction. "It's me, Inuyasha" He pre-warns, in a voice quieter than he'd intended, his shoulders lower again, but one ear stays trained in his direction, the other towards the falls. 'His ears, I wonder if he'd let me touch them . . .probably not'
Inuyasha shifts almost nervously 'What is he doing here . . did he come for me? The others must be back at Keade-baba's village' he tries to wipe the tear trails from his face with is sleeves before he could see. The last thing he wanted to do was to look weak to the other man. He was right behind him, surely he was going to sit next to him. His eyes widened, his muscles tensing, when he feels arms wrap around him. His mouth moves silently
"w-- what are you doing?" Inuyasha's face goes red, another man shouldn't be comforting him this way. He tries to look back, but fails
"what does it look like Inuyasha?" Miroku's chin rests on his shoulder. He could feel the heat from the other man's body, he knew his face was bright red.
"Inuyasha . . it is ok to cry" he hears him say in a whispered voice, He feeling of warmth spreads throughout his body as he speaks "please tell me what ails you, I will listen, after all you have been there for me . . .so many times" he let his legs fall crossed, his hands falling to his lap, Miroku adjusts to his new position causes a light friction between them. Inuyasha twitches at the sudden tingle running throughout his body, why was he effecting him like this? Why couldn't he make himself pull away, was this ok? "You're as the strong one, Inuyasha, you give us strength, will you let me return the favor now?" Was it ok . . . that Kagome was so quickly expelled from his mind?
His eyes slid closed as he marveled at the feeling of their bodies fit together this way. He let his word sink in, he gave /them/ strength. They were some of the strongest human's he'd ever met, not just physically, but mentally. Miroku had control he desired, though not in the area of women he admitted.
"Miroku" he pauses "you keep us all sane and . . .your strong too, for a human"
Miroku smiles at his words ignoring the 'for a human' at the end, he knew it was just Inuyasha's way of avoiding a direct compliment. Maybe he was getting somewhere.
"Miroku! Inuyasha! Are you there?" Inuyasha suddenly feel cold as Miroku moves away his hand lingering on his shoulder just a moment longer than the rest of him. He watches as he straightens his robe throwing him an apologetic look. Inuyasha stands just as Sango pushes through the brush into the clearing. Sango look at the two, they looked so misplaced standing where they were, she shrugs it off. It was probably nothing
"here you are" she readjust her weapon "Keade made a stew, you two should eat, we're investigating rumors early tomorrow morning"
"Of course Sango" Miroku smiles at the Taijiya, a flustered look flashing across her face. Inuyasha frowns suddenly angry
"feh, let's go" Inuyasha takes the lead into the forest. The two humans turn to follow.
Sango blinks stepping back through the brush 'is he still angry'
A ghost of a smile graces Miroku's lips he follows.

Sitting in one of the taller tree Inuyasha watched as Kagome pack things into her backpack. She was going to try and go home, he knew. He watched with disdain, she'd been going back for longer and longer periods of time. His clawed hand gripped the prayer bead necklace tightly a scowl marring his boyish features. She'd been abusing her power over him. He'd taken it literally laying down at first, but he was no ones pet no matter what race of hanyou he was. He was no one's lapdog. Something teh girl didn't seem to understand.First she'd made him help a bunch of humans, calling him a saint for crying out loud! Then he was suddenly her hired muscle, If she kept this up, she'd see just how un-saintly he was. For a while now she'd stopped even arguing with him, and just sat him and left, sealing the well with a temporary spell taught to her by Kaede-baba. He was leader of this pack they'd formed, she was overstepping so many lines by undermining his authority, his demon side wouldn't take it much longer.-NoodleSub
