"Why do we even bother with any more than guarding the village when Kagome's away?" Shippo sighs "all the rumors end up being dead ends" Sango pets his head
"It keeps us in practice, and we might get luck one day. There's no reason for you to sigh such an adult sigh Shippo" She smiles at him
"I guess so" The kit jumps down from Keade's fence pulling a pretty weed from the ground
"Kagome's coming back today" Shippo perks up at Sango's words
"That's right, she is! Yay" Inuyasha flinches inwardly, Miroku catches the look on his face as he turns to look in his direction. Inuyasha grunts
"I guess we should go to the well to meet her" Sango picks up her Hiraikotsu, Shippo goes to hop on her shoulder being stopped by Inuyasha
"walk Shippo" Inuyasha starts towards the well the others in tow
"sorry Inuyasha"
"come on Shippo" Sango calls back
Upon reaching the well Inuyasha plops down in the grass, there was no telling when she would come or even if she would, but she was supposed to be back today. Sitting a bit more gracefully on the grass near Inuyasha, Miroku rests his staff against his shoulder. Sango and Shippo sit down about 3 feet away. Inuyasha watches them.
"Sango?" Shippo fidgets looking up at the taijiya "do you know anything about fox magic?"
Sango blinks "fox magic? Not very much" Shippo looks disappointed "why do you ask?"
"all I really know how to do are small tricks, my fox fire is weak" his flawless brow creases, his hands stroking his tail "--I can't hold a transformation for more than 3 minutes. I can't even hide my tail properly" the kit sniffs
"Shippo" Sango runs her fingers through his bangs
"I know you guys are my pack now but--"
'pack' Sango blinks again 'I guess we are'
"--none of you can teach me to be strong with fox magic, I always have to hide when you guys fight demons, I can't do anything!"
"Hey Shippo" Shippo looks up in Inuyasha's direction, a soft scowl on the hanyou's face "no offense Sango but why ask a taijiya before you ask me?"
"But you said yourself Inuyasha, you didn't hang out with demons or humans" he looks down again "you wouldn't know any foxes then"
"That was then" Inuyasha leans forward on the heels on his hands "did you for get our 'pack' controls this area now" Inuyasha smirks "We're quiet well known, I could easily find a fox to teach you fox magic"
Shippo grins taking up a very canine pose "Really Inuyasha!? That would be so great! Oh, thank you Inuyasha!" Shippo's tail twitches happily
"Why's Inuyasha being thanked?" Kagome's voice travels from the well, Inuyasha's grin suddenly dips down into a frown, his brow creasing
"Kagome!" Shippo sprints over to the well jumping onto of the large yellow backpack as it's pushed over the edge onto the grass. Sango and Miroku stand, Inuyasha following suit. Kagome finally pulls herself out of the well hugging Shippo
"I missed you Kagome!"
"I missed you too Shippo, I brought you treats!"
"yay!" Shippo grins happily in her arms as Kagome greets Sango.
Inuyasha frowns again 'Kagome may be the one playing mother to Shippo but she would not be him mate or his equal in the pack any longer' Kagome greets Miroku catching Inuyasha's frown. Her smile drops off of her face, her frown matching his own.
"Any leads while I was away?" Inuyasha's arms cross
"none that got us anything" he raises an eyebrow "so we're leaving as soon as we pack things up at the village"
"fine" the miko was obviously done with pleasantries
Sango looks between the two. With Kagome gone she had forgotten the tension between the two. Inuyasha had actually looked half happy while the miko was gone, now he looked angry. She frowns, this was going to get old soon, she wouldn't let it start up again.
Walking up to Kagome she looks down at Shippo
"Shippo can you go with Miroku please"
"but--" Sango gives him a look "alright . . ." he hops down going to the monks side, looking back in consern at the three as Kirara joins Miroku and himself
"What's wrong Sango?" Kagome looks concerned
"You and Inuyasha are wrong Kagome" Kagome looks surprised at the bluntness of teh statement "you two are causing stress for the rest of us, especialy Shippo. Inuyasha is Shippo's father-figure like it or not." Inuyasha makes a small sound "Fix the problem between you two, you don't have to be best friends but no one's helping anyone else by glaring at each other all the time" with a pointed look to each Sango turns away heading towards the trail back to th village "come on Miroku, Shippo, let's go start packing" they follow her both Miroku and Shippo throwing looks back at the two.
'I hope they make up'

Kagome looks over at the hanyou, a frown still adorning his face "what is 'wrong' with you?"
"m--!" Inuyasha cuts himself off remembering the look on Miroku's face "It's not me with the problem" his voice is strained with the effort it took not to yell at the girl
"are you saying it's mine?" her voice is angry, no restraint
"that's right" his eyebrows turn downward angrily "you and this damned necklace!" he points
"if you didn't act like such a child all the time--!" she sets her fist on her hip
He takes a deep breath to calm himself "it's not 'me' who's childish, it is 'you', if you don't get your way you SIT me!" his voice raises, Kagome jumps "I am not your damned dog! I am the leader of this pack, If I were my brother you would be dead for undermining me the way you do!" Kagome looks only half as afraid as the youkai in him would have liked. She steps back a half step.
Inuyasha's shoulder untense "But I'm not my brother lucky for you" Kagome looks suspicious now "and you're no longer alpha female in this pack"
Kagome's eyes narrow "what is that supposed to mean, and who gave you the right to tell me--! "
"Shut up!" her mouth clicks shut "you're so noisy" Inuyasha's face is amused, his demon locking his human conscience away, her eyebrows come out from hiding under her bangs "You've fallen in rank" he laughs shortly "and replaced"
walking around her Inuyasha heads towards the village where the others were waiting
"Inuyasha, we're not done! Inuyasha!" he ignores her, continueing forward. He ignored the part of him saying he should have handled it differently. His other side argued; if she was not willing to talk without yelling, why should he sit and let her be a pain in his ears?
Kagome puffs up with anger "Inuyasha! Inuyasha!" the growls, an attempt he almost laughs at "Inuyasha SIT!"
"Bitch!" he falls to the ground struggling hard but managing to get almost right back up. He grabs at the necklace, the pain of the spell showing on his face as he grips it tight pulling in two direction. Kagome narrows her eyes, no matter how hard he pulled he wouldn't be able to pul it off. Inuyasha grunts teeth clamped together
"gauh--!" Kagome's eye widen as they necklace snaps the bead spilling onto the ground their color dulling with the power draining out of them, his chest heaves
"you see this" he hold up the almost bare string. He smirks his youkai growing in content "you don't control me anymore Kagome!" Kagome form shook slightly as Inuyasha exsamined his burned hands, they were red, in places tiny beads of blood began to form on the surface of his skin. He turns back to Kagome, anger and hints of fear rolling off of her in waves
"are you scared of me now that I don't have that necklace Kagome?" He watches her mouth tighten closed for only a second before he turns around again. This time, he makes it all the way back to the village.

"Keade-baba, do me a favor would you? Could you wrap my hands"
"Inuyasha! What happened!?"
