(A/N): "Is it ok to be attracted to a cartoon . . . in that way?". OOCness ahead, some can be chalked up to a new awareness and freedom. (some to the soap opera writer in me T.T) AHH! There's somethings turning my files blue! What does that mean!? T.T this does not bode well. Urg!
Leaning against the Goshinboku, Miroku sighs, he definitely felt lonely with Inuyasha gone. He knew things would get done faster without him tagging along but, it didn't change the fact. Inuyasha had gone to retrieve Shippo's new teacher from an area Inuyasha deemed to dangerous for any of them to go, which made him worry as well. A small smile plays on his lips. Inuyasha had said, with a red face, "I . . .feel a lot better leaving you here in my territory where I know you'll be safer . . . because of my reputation at least", that made him happy. That as well as the almost shy kiss that followed, before he headed off. He'd left yesterday, and so they were expecting him back today. His fingers brush lightly over his lips, remembering the kiss.
Elsewhere in the village Shippo plops down on the ground in front of his toys, that he lain out in front of him. Examining the contents of his pockets Shippo beams unable to help himself, Inuyasha would be back today, with his new teacher! A teacher recommended by 'Sesshoumaru'! Even though he was their enemy, you couldn't ignore his strength and abilities.
"this will be so great! I'll finally get stronger!" He picks up one of his mushrooms from the ground, he'd learn even more skills with the things in the forest and more spells! Red foxes specialized in fox magic.
The kit perks up scenting the air 'Inuyasha!'

"Inuyasha!" Miroku smiles pressing his body back into the hanyou's embrace, enjoying the feel of the other man against him, he could feel another youkai presence-- but didn't care
"I missed you"
The hanyou smiles against the skin of his neck, a soft hum coming in response "I know" Miroku resists the urge to laugh, his smile broadening.
"Could you go inform Sango and Keade-baba?" The hanyou nips at his pulse possessively, making the monk shiver
His face flushes "ah-- yes, of course" He nods pulling reluctantly from his embrace to head into the village
Inuyasha looks back at the smirking fox youkai
"the village is this way" Inuyasha starts in the direction he'd sent Miroku
"a nice looking forest" the fox continues to smirk at Inuyasha's nod "and a nice looking boy as well" Inuyasha looks back for a second
"of course" he allows a small smirk of his own.
"Inuyasha!" The hanyou pauses when Shippo comes bounding out of the brush stopping at his feet "you're back" The kit smiles looking around his legs at the fox demon there. He steps out into the open bowing in the strangers direction
"this is him?" Shippo looks up at the hanyou, his smile widening at his nod
"this is the kit I was telling you about" Inuyasha says turning halfway
The fox smiles down at Shippo "nice to meet you Shippo, you may call me Yuji-sensei"
Shippo nods excitedly "alright, Yuji-sensei"
"let's continue to the village" Inuyasha starts walking again, Shippo immediately turning and falling in step, as best he could with legs so short.

When they arrive back in the village Miroku, Sango, Kirara and Keade are waiting for them. Kagome had left for her time when they arrived back, and wouldn't be returning for a few days.
Inuyasha gestures to each of them as he introduces them one by one, each bowing in turn
"this is my pack. Keade, Miko, elder and healer" the old woman nods with a smile "Sango--beta*, warrior, she also takes care of Shippo" the taijiya bows slightly "Kirara--beta, mostly fights along side Sango" Kirara mews bowing her head slightly "Kagome--omega, she is a Miko and healer as well, not as good as Keade-baba, good with a bow however. She is not here"
the fox nods to himself
"You've . . .met Miroku--alpha" the others wait almost in anticipation of how he introduces the monk "Monk, warrior, and my mate" Miroku allows a small smile "unofficially for now" The hanyou gestures to the fox demon "Yuji" he pauses "--omega will act as Shippo's teacher and protector" Inuyasha turns towards him "that is your main purpose" Yuji nods, bowing to them all
"a pleasure"
"We'll be leaving again in three days, why don't you familiarize yourself with the area" Inuyasha looks around "you are not to bother with the Bone-Eater Well, the villagers or the Goshinboku-- you'll know which tree that is if your any kind of fox youkai." Inuyasha looks him over "if Sesshoumaru's judgement is to be trusted, you are"
Keade watches as the fox youkai nods once again, the man looked honest enough but she wouldn't trust him immediately, like she knew Inuyasha wouldn't. He was only a few inches shorter than Inuyasha, seemingly all lean muscle. His hair was a coppery-red, held back in a long braid his eyes dark green. His clothes were nothing special, a pair of black calf length pants and a sleeveless top of the same color, trimmed in a thick orange band and held together by a stiff burnt orange sash which was tied into a large one loop bow at his back. His hand opened and closed once flexing, slightly dingy bandages were wrapped around his hands and feet. Keade hnms to herself at his posture, his knees slightly bent, his back straight. 'His arms are long, he is probably very fast on all fours, like Inuyasha' The youkai turns giving a little nod before disappearing into the forest to do as Inuyasha suggested.

Inuyasha kneels down in front of Shippo "are you ready for training Shippo?"
"you bet Inuyasha!" Shippo balls up his tiny fist in anticipation "I'm going to be as strong as you! Stronger!" Inuyasha laughs ruffling his hair
"I don't know about that!"
"Hey! You just wait!" he fixes his hair
Keade smiles at the scene before heading back in. Sango and Kirara head back off into the forest to continue practicing.
"Inuyasha . . .Shippo growing on you?" Miroku smirks in the hanyou's direction.
Inuyasha looks up a serious expression on his face under the goofy smile "more like my position in the pack" He looks back at Shippo
"why don't you see if Keade-baba has something that needs doing? You won't start training until tomorrow" Shippo pouts a little but nods, heading in.
Inuyasha stands making his way over to where Miroku is standing "weren't chasing girls while I was away were you?" Inuyasha runs his claws lightly along the line of the other man's jaw
"of course not Inuyasha" he leans into the touch placing his hand over Inuyasha's, letting his staff fall to the dirt with a light clatter "so . . . mate?"
Inuyasha nods a faint smirk on his features "that's right"
"unofficially?" Inuyasha moves their hands lower you the monks pulse, his eyes flickering to the cloth and beads holding back the deadly void that lay in the center of his palm
"I haven't marked you yet, completely" Miroku tilts his head in confusion "with a smal ritual"
"ah" the confusion disappears from his eyes almost completely
"a blood exchange, and a bite . . .here and--" Inuyasha strokes the skin above the pulse at his neck before slipping his hand free "here" his hand cups the inside of the monks thigh. His eyes widen in surprise for a moment
"I see" Miroku steps closer, causing Inuyasha's hand to shift higher "so when?"

Alpha, Beta, Omega - letters from the Greek alphabet used to show rank. Alpha is the highest rank, Beta is under Alpha. Omega is the lowest rank. This is what Inuyasha meant when he told Kagome she'd fallen in rank.
