Inuyasha and Miroku take their time getting back to Keade's hut. They walk close, careful of the others steps, fingers occasionally brushing. Unconsciously Miroku flexes his hand around the cloth and beads covering his curse. Inuyasha looks in his direction feeling his unease.
"what is it?" Inuyasha watches his mate's face, his nose scrunches up, cutely
" . . . What was it Sesshoumaru said to you?" Miroku looks up
"Is that all?" Inuyasha glances up into the treetops before facing forwards again "I was going to wait until I could tell everyone at once but, I can tell you now" his hands tuck into his sleeves. "Sesshoumaru wanted to join forces, to face Naraku"
Miroku's eyes widen "join forces?"
"Apparently Naraku is gathering low level youkai in large quantities, we're going to need all the help we can get. Sesshoumaru has a powerful army. . . he offered a truce, and I accepted"
"I see" 'it's best, I just hope Sesshoumaru-sama doesn't decide to kill us afterwards, if our side wins' "you're right, we do need help" Inuyasha nods
"Also I suspect he'll ask us to his castle soon" Miroku once again faces the hanyou's direction
"his castle?" 'and army and a castle, neither are things I really thought about Sesshoumaru-sama having. I suppose he has many more things a lord would.'
"hnm, yeh, He asked me to train with his tomorrow morning, he'll probably ask then" The village comes into view, and they both look forward.
"Things are turning around" Miroku allows a small smile "Maybe we are in Buddha's favor after all"
"We can only hope"

Inuyasha grins as he approaches Kaede's hut, Shippo bounding excitedly in his direction
"Inuyasha! I did it Inuyasha!" The hanyou laughs as the kit tries to keep himself from jumping up and down in his excitement
"whoa! Hey, Shippo did what?" Miroku wears a small grin of his own, noticing Yuji watching from a few yards away
"look!" Shippo pulls out a leaf and presses it to his forehead, there is a popping sound and smoke. Miroku's grin widens considerably as a happily twitching Inuyasha stands in the kits place
"I can hold it longer and look!" he turns around shaking his butt, or rather Inuyasha's butt "no tail!"
Miroku, unable to stop himself bursts out laughing, at seeing his mates image do such a thing. "g--ood job Shippo!" Inuyasha looks horrified
"Whoa! That's great Shippo--but uh, lets not do that now alright" Shippo stops and grins before transforming back, Inuyasha nudges his mate, the man almost giggling
"Yuji-Sensei says that he'll help me make my fox fire stronger when I master transformations! Isn't that great!?"
"on your way to being stronger than me already!"
"yeh!" Inuyasha kneels ruffling Shippo's hair affectionately, the kit grins
"Go fetch Sango and Kirara could you? I have something to tell you all" Shippo nods, complying happily, a bounce still in his step.
Inuyasha stands up, he would have to go get Kagome soon . . . she was supposed to be back yesterday.

Inuyasha watches the faces of his companions. Kouga's intended Ayame had come before with a rather large wolf-- in it's natural form, and taken Kouga 'to a safe place'. He did not question it, Kouga seemed releived, and his pride was in shambles as it was. He has just told the group what he had told Miroku, besides his suspicions of their relocation. There was no need to get them worked up over an uncertainty. Keade looks a bit worried, but also accepting. He felt bad, if they left she would have to stay . . .this was her village and she was the one who lead the people if anything attacked. when she found her replacement, and they survived Naraku, the pack would settle and she would be treated as a true elder. She would be honored and taken care of like she deserved for the rest of her shortening days. His eyes shift again, Yuji looks relieved, Shippo and Sango looking uncertain
"do--" Sango looks at her hands with a nervousness uncommon for the slayer "do you trust him, Inuyasha?" Inuyasha shows surprise at her question, before understanding overtakes it. Of course, Sango knew quite a bit about demon culture, she understood all of their positions in the pact to some extent. She didn't want to question his authority.
"I do Sango, and Sango" he grins a bit "don't be afraid to say something when you have a concern or you think I'm wrong" She looks up in surprise "your not one to just follow blindly, and I won't make you be" she smiles
"right, of course Inuyasha!" she looks relieved and a bit embarrassed
Inuyasha smiles before his face turns serious and his eyes take in the group, he wasn't one for speeches, however "alright, this means a few things; first we need to be prepared for the worst, We have an uncertain amount of time to prepare for anything that can be thrown at us. We need to train harder than ever and we need to help each other find our weaknesses and eliminate them. We need a plan, and to be on the same page. We need to work together with my brother and his companions, and let go of anything holding us back" He looks again in Sango's direction, his voice lowers
"Sango . . . prepare for the worst" The taijiya squeezes her eyes shut and nods, 'be prepared to take your brother's jewel shard' was what he was saying. She knew Kohaku was dead . . .and even if they managed to save him remembering would destroy him, but it hurt. She knew Naraku would try and use him against her, and that would hinder the group. She couldn't be the weak link.
He watches them, all their expression tense, even Shippo's
"We begin first thing tomorrow, so sleep well tonight" Of course with such busy thoughts most of his pack would not sleep well, Inuyasha hoped though, that they would at least try. He turns his back to the group to face his mate, who had been standing off to the side while he spoke. He summons him closer leaning down to nuzzle his neck and the sensitive skin behind his ear, his attentions causing earrings to clang together almost mutely. The monk's neck arches to give more access, his hand fisting lightly into red fabric.
"Inuyasha . . . "
"I have to go try and retrieve Kagome" He pulls back to watch his mates face "if . . .anything happens while I'm away, Sesshoumaru is nearby, call for him" he presses a light kiss to slightly parted lips "he'll hear you". He would have to leave his mate once again, it was hard for him. His youkai nature combined with his lonely life made him crave his mates presence to a greatly heightened level compared to what the humans of the time were used to. To him they seemed to only touch when fighting of fucking, but pack youkai like himself touched constantly for many reasons beyond pleasure or pain. Even if he wasn't a part of a pack when he was growing up, the pull was still there. He pushes the thoughts from his mind, glancing back at the group seeing Sango looking away, he looks back "I'll be back as soon as I can" He thumbs his mark, Miroku releasing him reluctantly.He spins back around.
"I'm going to get Kagome . . .it's not a guarantee she'll come" he watches Keade and Sango give an almost flinching look, Shippo one of hurt. He resist the urge to comfort the kit. "I'll try to be back as soon as I can" His eyes turn to Yuji, his gaze intense
"your job remains the same, I don't expect you to fight a battle not your own, however if Shippo is in danger" his eyes flicker to the kit, before returning "-- his life is more important than yours"
All eyes but Sango's go to Yuji. His eyes close his brow wrinkled and he nods
"of course Inuyasha-sama" Yuji raises his head glancing at the slayer, she seemed to know his predicament. His eyes go once again to the hanyou, he had proven himself worthy to oversee him in his repayment to his family. He could properly repay Sesshoumaru-sama-- without question. Shippo stares up at Inuyasha who has a satisfied look on his face, the hanyou smiles at him, Shippo flushes. It was strange how much Inuyasha had changed so quickly. Shippo felt admiration strongly, Inuyasha was truly an alpha male . . . and his papa now, right?
