"Yes, yes that's it!" Kagome allows herself a tired smile at the man's- praise as she calls the barrier up around her. She'd managed this-- and how had he rewarded her? He had made her hold it until he felt she'd 'be useless' if she held it longer! He was helping her build her 'spiritual stamina' apparently-- she was so sure he just had the hidden joy of torture. Aside form that and her barrier being pelted by anything from pebbles to the monk's own power, she was happy. She wasn't useless anymore-- even if she ran out of arrows. The teacup and Shippo would be protected.
"how much longer will I do this?" They had been staying at Sesshoumaru's castle for two weeks now. And she'd been doing this every other day, taking small lessons with one of Sesshoumaru's healers on other days. The head healer taught her about treating youkai, and using different herbs and things while she in turn taught her what she knew about treating humans(sharing a few books) and how to use her medical supplies from 'her country' which the youkai in turn taught to the others
"not as long today, I'd like for you to try something new" she nods.
"alright" she tries not to think about failing, thinking back a few days ago. There had been trouble at the outskirts of Sesshoumaru's barriers– Naraku knew where they were, but did not know how to get through. They of course knew this was temporary-- Sesshoumaru and surprisingly Inuyasha had been preparing the warrior in the West's army. They would in a weeks time, if not infiltrated by Naraku, leave the barriers and draw him out. The latter was more in their favor, but she knew it was wishful thinking.
"I'm going to try and break your barrier, try and stop me"
"right" Kagome braces herself

Grinding the herbs into the bowl Keade hums a bit to herself. The task is performed outside her hut, to keep the smell of the herbs from becoming so much inside. She allows her mind to wander. Watching the group scramble about so unprepared since they'd returned had brought to her attention how unprepared she herself was. Her plans for her death were . . . simply put off after she'd lived past what was expected. She had lived much longer than most people in her time. She was over 60, a great feat in this warring era. A soft smile touches her lips, drawn tight with age, as she recalls what the young hanyou had told her. His face was red after, and he was obviously embarrassed at the time; "--Don't worry about it, besides" a grin graces his features "when the pack settles down after we defeat Naraku, you won't need to worry about taking care of everything-- we'll take care of you. You'll be treated like a true elder." The old woman chuckles; after he'd said that, she'd asked if that meant he'd show some respect and stop calling her baba*. He'd laughed and said "we'll see". She knew that might not happen now weather it be because she couldn't train someone to take her place before she passed on or because the young hanyou who'd promised such a pleasant end was not there to do it. She sighs tiredly, more of her youth slipping out in the breath, and she felt incredibly old in that moment. How were they? She hadn't heard from them in weeks and worried, but she'd heard no word of a victorious bloodbath on Naraku's part so she held hope. She grunts in an un lady-like fashion in responce to her own cynicism, pushing herself to work herself again into the comforting patterns associated with the familiar work.

"Keade-chan" her mind snaps back to the present as a familiar voice calls to her . . . Kikyo. Keade looks up in the direction of the voice, finding the clay doll housing her sister's soul there. Peeking around her form is a girl, no more than 12, her clothes and face dirty.
"Kikyo" Keade stands, her eyes going back to the girl as she sticks her pigtailed head further out from behind the woman, grey eyes wide. "What brings you here?"
"The girl" The clay miko reaches behind her grabbing hold of girl's collar and pushing her forwards towards the old woman, that would be her younger sister. The girl stumbles a bit before regaining her footing. She doesn't move from where she stops, but glances back before being turned away with a stern look. She stares at her bare feet.
"What am I to do with her?" Kaede gives the undead miko a once-over, trying to figure her actions
"Train her" Kaede's eyes widen a fraction "to replace you" they narrow in apprehension "you are old . . . she has strong potential; she killed the demon that destroyed her village"
"why are you doing this?"
"You are my sister; you can, and I cannot"
Kaede inwardly flinches, her sister was long dead "you cannot?"
"Inuyasha is lost to me, I cannot deny the permanence of a youkai a blood claim-- even done by a hanyou" a saddened expression overcomes her stoic one. Her eyes go to the girl before she turns to leave, she pauses
"perhaps Inuyasha will die in battle with Naraku . . . and join me in Hell" there is a small sound, like a wry laugh, before she disappears for what seems the last time.
"what is your name?"
"Minami. . ." the name stumbles from the girls chapped lips
"tell me, are you hungry, Minami-chan?"

'I can't believe he had this done' Inuyasha bites his tongue, to keep from laughing as he examines the painting in the family hall. The painting done of Sesshoumaru, was, comically similar to one of the 'movie posters' he'd seen in Kagome's time. 'He is so--'
"Inuyasha-sama" he jumps slightly
'gah!' "yeh?" 'there's no rest in this place, even when I get a break' Sesshoumaru wanted them all rested, and so they had ceased training. They would draw Naraku to them at daybreak tomorrow.
Yuji steps forward bowingm his body tense in a false confidence and fear way "A servant said I could find you here" Inuyasha nods, despite his obvious discomfort Inuyasha hadn't heard him approaching, he still moved like a predator. Inuyasha allows a bit of self satisfaction, confident the same could be said about him after his time with his brother.
"where is Shippo?" He hadn't seen the kit all day, not since the morning. He makes a mental note to check up on him, wondering if Kagome had.
"with Lady Rin" the hanyou nods again, slowly
"So tell me, what is it you wanted?"
"I'd like your permission, as pack leader, to court Sango-san" Inuyasha chokes
