Inu: *puts sword down* Yes, Ma'am.

Chapter 1
The first of many

Kagome ran her smooth 12 year old hands threw her think black hair. She sighed. She had been working up the nerve to talk to her mom about well, girl stuff, but she still couldn't. The thought of tell her mom that her little girl had finally "grown up" was a little scary. Maybe not telling her mom was scary, but maybe it was the fact that she, wasn't so little anymore. Then her mom would rant on about how she will get her first crush soon, which FYI had already happened in 2nd grade. And then her mom would rant some more about how she would grow older and learn so much and become a beautiful lawyer and such. And FYI again, she was smart, and didn't really need to know much more. I mean, how much would she need to know?
She already knew what FYI meant didn't she? She had to be smart then.
"Kagome? Are you home sweetie?" Her mom called from the living room.
Kagome shook. Finally getting up she walked out of her room and down the stairs to greet her mom. To tell her the big news. The news that today, Kagome Higarashi started her period.

Inuyasha growled. His brother did it again! And Inuyasha was getting that weird feeling that his brother was staying in the shower way to long to take up all the hot water on purpose! Tomorrow would be his first day in a new town, in a new school; hell it would be an all-new life since Kikyo.
Inuyasha winced. He hadn't thought of Kikyo in about 5.2 minutes. And each time he thought of her it made him even more pissed. Sure Inuyasha was only 14 but he knew love and lust. Well, the difference at least. And the difference here, he didn't feel either. Only Kikyo felt something, and when Inuyasha told her 'no' she could accept that. So she went and told his girlfriend that he was cheating with her. Ok, so the girlfriend wasn't much of a girlfriend, and he WAS going to break it off, but Kikyo still had no right!
Inuyasha sighed. He didn't want to think about any of this anymore. Tomorrow he would move to a new town. And again, a new school. Who knew who he would meet?

"Oh my gosh! My little giiiiiirl!" Ms. Higarashi cried. "She's all, all.... aaaaaaaalllll groooown uuuup!"
Ms. Higarashi hugged and squeezed Kagome, till she felt water form in her eyes. "Mom?" She wheezed. "MOM, cant.... CANT BREATH!"
Her mom backed out, and blushed. "Hehe, oops. Im sorry sweetie. It's just. Your all grown now!"
Kagome stared blankly at her. "Mom, food" Her mom huffed. "Fine, ill get you your food missy. But tomorrow, first thing first! We get you some pads. Ok?"
It was now Kagome's turn to blush. "Whatever.Im going of to Sango's. Call when dinner's ready."
She yelled on her way out of the door.

Kagome couldn't have gotten 10 feet off of her shrine steps when she heard the loud honking sound. The sound of tire scrapping against pavement. Then the sound of metal crunching against bone. Then , for Kagome Higarashi, all went dark. And for 5 years everything would stay dark.

Inuyasha walked up the school steps, but something felt off. Ok, not off because it was a new school. But off in a different since. Then he noticed it. The kids. Well, the girls mostly. They were all crying. And the guys, they seemed almost to tears. But of course, guys don't cry. Because there supposed to be manly, and strong right?
But that's when he noticed the two. They sat alone. No tears falling, just, blank faces. The boy most have been 14 like Inuyasha and the girl maybe 13 at the most. The boy had spiky hair, and the girl hair to her shoulders. Inuyasha figured he would see what was up and make conversation. Maybe a new friend too?
"Hey!" The two looked up, a little shocked. The boy blinked then asked him "Yes?"
"My names Inuyasha, im new here, and I don't want to bother you. But why is everything crying like someone died?" He said, trying to be funny. But that's when he saw the boy wince, and the girl next to him finally break down. " Oh my god! I'm sorry, I didn't mean anything bad. I just..." the boy interrupted. "It's ok. I'm Miroku, and this is Sango. On any other day we would greet you and try to make you feel, well, welcomed. But are friend got into an accident yesterday. Her name was Kagome." At the girl's name, Sango started to bawl more. "Sheeeee was my, my...myyy beeeeest frieeeeend." She broke down again.
Inuyasha felt horrible. "I'm sorry I didn't know! Is she ok?"
Miroku looked down, "They don't know." Inuyasha just nodded. Then the bell rung. " Well, again, im sorry. Maybe ill see you in lunch and we can talk some more?" Before Miroku could answer Inuyasha ran off.
"Maybe." Miroku was left to say to a heartbroken Sango.
