Chapter 2

Break up

Kagome wiped her eyes, and sniffed. She felt much better now that she's had the chance to talk to Sango about it. She quickly checked her eyes to see if they were red, and they weren't too much.

Sango and Kagome decided there was still enough time to go get some breakfast before school started. Kagome knew exactly what she was going to do. She would break up with Naraku later today. Sango would be there for support, and if he tried to do anything, she would help defend Kagome. (Sango has a black belt, and she does Yoga)

Kagome looked at her watch, and practically screamed, "Aah Sango-chan! We're going to be late!!" They quickly ran to the school, and made it to class just in time. They apologized to the teacher, and quickly sat down. While Kagome walked to her desk, she could feel Naraku's eyes following her. It made her feel uneasy, and scared.

It seemed like class would never end, but it finally did. Kagome quickly went to her locker to get her books for her next class when Naraku appeared out of nowhere. Kagome jumped when she felt a hand on her shoulder, and said, "Oh Naraku, you shouldn't scare me like that!" She managed a smile, but Naraku frowned and said, "Where were you this morning? I called you, but you didn't pick up."

Kagome replied, "Oh, well Sango and I had made plans to wake up extra early so we could go get some breakfast together. We made plans yesterday, but I didn't think to tell you because I didn't know you were going to call me." Naraku looked at her suspiciously, but said, "Well, ok, but next time tell me what you're going to do." As he walked away, Kagome could only stare in disgust. How dare he! She thought furiously, He has so right to tell me what to do! Kagome shut her locker, and went off to her next class.

Finally lunch came, and Kagome felt like she was going to faint at any time. She was going to break up with Naraku. She caught Sango's eye, and nodded. She walked over to Naraku, and said, "Walk with me?" They got up, and walked to the campus outside.

Kagome looked around, and saw Sango hiding behind some bushes, watching them in case Naraku tried to hurt Kagome. Kagome turned to Naraku, and said, "Naraku, this isn't easy for me to say, because it was great at first, but you've changed. You constantly hit me, and beat me, and I'm tired of being treated like some doll. I don't want to live my life in constant fear." Kagome's voiced hardened, "I want to break up with you. I'm tired of you hurting me, and insulting me. I never want to see you again, but that isn't possible, since we go to the same school. I will never talk to you again, and you will never see me again."

Kagome searched Naraku's face for any sort of reaction, but all she saw was a blank face, and dark eyes. Suddenly Naraku's face filled with fury, his eyes went ablaze, and he scowled at her, "So…Who is it?" Kagome looked confused, and said, "What do you mean?" He growled, and said, "Come on, who was it? There's another guy, isn't there? How many times did you fuck hm till he agreed to go out with you? You fucking slut, your nothing but a liar, and a whore! I refuse to let you go! You are mine, and mine only!"

Kagome's face filled with anger and she hissed, "I am NOT yours, and I never will be! I want to have my own life, and I am going to do so!" She turned around, and started walking away when Naraku grabbed her arm and swung her around. Sango took this as an initiative to stop the fight before Naraku did something bad.

Naraku swung his arm back to hit Kagome, but before he did anything, Sango came out of nowhere and bunched him in the face, knocking him to the ground. "Naraku! Leave Kagome alone! You are nothing but an overprotective asshole! You've hurt Kagome for too long! She doesn't deserve his bullshit! Sango looked over at Kagome, and said, "come on, we'd better get to class before HE gets back up." They started walking, and Kagome breathed out a sigh of relief. She couldn't believe it: she was free! Free from Naraku, free to do whatever she wanted to do, and whenever!

After school, Kagome walked home with Sango, chatting like nothing had happened. Kagome was a little scared to go home, because Naraku wasn't going to give her up easily. Sango smiled reassuringly at Kagome, and suggested that she spend the night at her house instead, "Naraku will probably think you're at home instead of my house. Besides, if he gives us any trouble, I'll kick his ass for ya!" Kagome laughed, and said, "Good idea Sango-chan, and thank you…"

Once they arrived at Sango's house, Kagome called up her parents, and they luckily said yes. It was Saturday, and that meant no school tomorrow! Kagome and Sango grinned; Movie Marathon! They did they every time they had a sleep over. They would buy a ton of sappy love movies, and watch them till their eyes couldn't cry anymore; either that, or a bunch of action movies, or suspense movies. Sango liked suspense movies more than Kagome did, but they still watched them.

Kagome and Sango left to go to the movie store, but while they were there, Kagome felt extremely uneasy. She shook it off, reassuring herself that it was because she wasn't used to so much freedom. Kagome looked around through the movies when she saw one that caught her eye. "Ooh Sango! Here's that new movie that was in theatres a while ago! The movies Fight House, with that hot guy Fukaimori Inuyasha! We definitely should rent this!" Sango sighed, and said, "Damn that Fukaimori is so hot. Great choice Kagome-chan!"

Sango and Kagome headed back to the house, talking about Inuyasha. Kagome still felt a little uneasy, but she still reassured herself with the same reason, she wasn't used to so much freedom. When they got back, the phone rang. Sango ran to pick it up, but came back a little while later, her face pale. She said to Kagome, "Naraku just called. He said he knows you're here, and that I should tell you that he wont give you up, no matter what he has to do…God that guy is scary! He's so damn possessive, and…and…god! I hate him!" Kagome started trembling, and Sango noticed immediately. "Oh don't worry Kagome! He wouldn't dare try to do anything while im around! Don't worry about it, just forget about it, and it'll be ok!" Kagome nodded, and after the first two movies, they both forgot all about the phone call.
