As has likely been guessed, this fic is long dead. I don't write Inuyasha fanfiction anymore and do not plan to end this story. However, since it continues to see traffic, I thought I would give a plot dump here of what my plans for the story were. This will totally spoil what would have happened, of course, if you like being kept in the dark and left hanging, skip it now.
As was revealed, the Order that Magatsuhi lead was the Order of the Three Treasures, formed in ancient times to guard the three imperial tresures used in the ritual of imperial ascension. Magatsuhi betrayed the Emperor to the warlord Onigumo Nobunaga, and in the ensuing war, the three treasures and the imperial bloodline vanished, Onigumo was dead, and Magatsuhi and the Order went underground.
During the course of the story, the three sides would continue to pursue the Three Treasures, a mirror, a sword, and a necklace. With these three treasures, one could crown themselves Emperor again, and the treasures have great power when unified that would give the wielder power to enforce their claim.
A major climax of the story for the personal arcs would have been Yuka and Kagome battling. I intended to build up Yuka and Inuyasha relationship to imply a love triangle, culminating with Yuka and Kagome being pitted against each other and Kagome killing Yuka. This would have lead up to a battle between Inuyasha and Kagome at the site of the discovery of the third treasure, this time with no punches pulled. However, they still can't bring themselves to kill the other, and due to Naraku's manipulations they are both branded traitors and spies, and are forced to go into hiding together.
With more battles and attempts made to discover the base of the Order, there would have been an attack on the youkai base that resulted in Rin being kidnapped by Naraku, and the confirmation that Naraku is working with Magatsuhi and playing both sides to prolong the war, using it as a cover for the Order to covertly recover the three treasures. Here it would be revealed that Rin is the Heir of Minamoto, a descendant of the Emperor's bloodline with a claim to the Imperial throne.
Inuyasha and Sesshomaru visit the Youkai Council to address them, but it is revealed here that there is no Council, and they have long been killed off and impersonated by Naraku via his shapeshifting abilities. With this revelation, their father Toga forcefully takes control of the entire Youkai army, and due to his own grudges against the miko, refuses to accept the idea of a ceasefire to ally against the Order. For his reputation as a ruthless and violent ruler, the miko council likewise cannot handle the idea of allying with Toga, and Midoriko prepares to confront him on the field of battle.
With a grand battle between both sides brewing, the heroes – Inuyasha, Kagome, Sesshomar, Kouga, Kikyo, and Kagura - band together to assault the headquarters of the Order, Mt. Hakurei, where Rin and the three treasures are being held. Magatsuhi battles the heroes to keep them from Rin and Naraku, and in the conflict it is revealed that Naraku is Onigumo, left for dead in the imperial palace and being reborn as Naraku like in the canon, and he's been tracking down the imperial bloodline and the three treasures ever since. It would also be revealed, through means I cannot fully recall, that Naraku and Magatsuhi engineered the youkai-miko war.
Magatsuhi is destroyed, and the group finds Naraku with Rin, who has been possessed by a seeming demonic force. Naraku reveals to the group the true secret of the three treasures – when the ritual of imperial ascension is performed with a true blood heir and the three treasures, the heir receives the power to subjugate the land and enforce their rule – the Shikon-no-Tama, formed from the souls of a miko and a youkai and gifted to the First Emperor so he can bring peace between the two races.
Naraku declares his desire to use the Shikon-no-Tama and Rin to rule the world, but he is destroyed by Rin herself, possessed by the miko and youkai spirits of the jewel. Through Rin, who has been transformed into a sort of hybrid youkai-miko by the energy of the jewel, the two spirits declare they made the jewel in the hopes of peace, but they see now that the youkai and miko only ever co-existed out of fear of annihilation, and thus judge both races are to be exterminated. Rin, her family killed by the war and manipulated by Naraku into hating both races, has agreed to be their vessel to enact this.
The heroes are unable to breach a barrier of pure energy to get to Rin, but Shippo manages to reach out to Rin and struggles through the barrier to her, causing her to reject the jewel's influence and assert her own self again, breaking free of its power. This is also the culmination of the Ship Tease between the two. Toga and Midoriko lay down their arms as Rin arrives on the battlefield bearing the jewel, and a ceasefire is declared. Rin is to be crowned Empress, but she rejects the crown, agreeing with the spirits of the jewel that the two races are only not fighting now out of fear of her power, and that isn't right. Rin returns to Mt. Hakurei with Shippo to safeguard the jewel, Toga and Midoriko combining their powers to create a barrier over the mountain that neither youkai or miko can pass. The rest of the heroes look forward to the long and difficult road of mutual and peaceful co-existence between the races, agreeing that this act of cooperation, if not a great victory, is the first step.
So, there it is, that's what I had planned. I still think it was pretty damn good but I just don't have the will to finish the story, I've long moved on from the Inuyasha fandom.
