In the living room, Sango and her three friends were eating pizza.

“Sango, what's the deal with Kagome?” asked Souten.

Sango placed her pizza on her plate, grabbed a napkin, and wiped her hands. “Well, Kagome's father died from a tumor in his brain when she was eleven, he was a nice man. So, that took a good-sized hunk out of her heart. It took her awhile to recover from that loss and she is still recuperating. I do know how that feels.

She was always a big girl and people didn't make fun of her until we went to middle school. Image started to become a huge deal due to the media. Everyone started to make fun of her, even her best friends before they met me. That's when she started to have low self-esteem. It became even lower when she asked boys out and they would reject her cause she wasn't skinny.

She wouldn't defend herself from all the teasing and pranks people will do to her. You can't believe what they did to her. On the last day of school, which was yesterday, people stuffed mud from a farm into her locker. When she opened her locker, it fell o top of her. I wasn't at school cause I missed the bus so I couldn't kick anyone's asses.”

Everyone was quiet. Sango wouldn't tell them that Kagome cut herself. That was a little personal.

“That's horrible,” said Rin, breaking the silence. Ayami and Souten nodded their heads.

“Well, you wanted to know the deal with her,” said Sango, picking up her soda and took a sip from it.

“How is she like when she is around girls that are thin?” asked Ayami.

“I don't know. I never really thought about it,” replied Sango. She felt bad not thinking about what her friend thinks about thin people. Kagome never really said anything so Sango didn't think about it.

The girls took another bite of their pizza and turned their heads toward the hallway. They knew Kagome was sleeping and still in her room, they hope.

“Who would ever want to make fun of her? She is so sweet,” said Souten.

“People like to judge looks before personality nowadays,” said Sango.

“We should go to bed, I think we should go shopping tomorrow,” said Rin and the other girls agreed.

They cleaned up the dining room and washed the dishes. They went to their rooms and went to bed.

Tomorrow will be shopping day and hopefully Kagome would join them. They will not take no for an answer.

~~~Reply to the reviews thus far:
InuGrrrl: I will try to not stop writing this story. I am really sick of the obsession of being thin, unless there's a medical reason, like the doctor tells you have to lose weight. I always think people should love the way they are.
Crystalclearangel: I will update whenever I can. I am glad you are enjoying this story.
Angel_4_life: To tell the truth, at my old middle school (never been really made fun of) before I moved to where I am now, image became a big thing all of a sudden. But, whenever I see talk show like Monteal and other shows before they got canceled, I would see overweight girls/boys being made fun of and whatnot. Then there's the media and all sorts. So, this story was inspired from everything that surrounds you: media and the environment.
