“Um, Kagome?”

 

“Yes InuYasha?”

 

“There's something I need to tell you…”

 

“What is it?”

 

InuYasha squirmed in his seat.

 

“I'm…I'm…I'm…uh…I'm s-s-sorry. I'm sorry of what I said to you over the summer,” InuYasha admitted. A slight tinge of pink shaded his cheeks.

 

Kagome smiled. “I forgive you.”

 

“What?”

 

“I forgive you. I've been waiting for you to say that for a long time.”

 

The tinge of pink turned into a dazzling red.

 

“You're not mad at me? Why? Of all the things I said to you-”

 

“InuYasha! I'm used to all of that shit, but I was a little mad, I guess, ahem. All I ever want from people is an apology.”

 

InuYasha's eyes looked down. “There's something else I want to tell you.”

 

“What is it?”

 

InuYasha's dazzling red turned into tomato red. “I…like you.”

 

Kagome was speechless. No boy EVER told her that he liked her. This was the FIRST time.

 

“Why?”

 

“Why what?”

 

“Why do you like me? I don't have a perfect body and I'm not fabulous. Why do you like me?”

 

When InuYasha was about to answer, Ms. Higurashi walked in along with Souta and Grandpa.

 

“Kagome! Oh Kagome, it's true! You are finally awake, oh my baby,” Ms. Higurashi cried. She flung her arms around her daughter and started to cry. Grandpa and Souta started to cry too in happiness.

 

InuYasha stood up and walked towards the door. He looked over, seeing a bittersweet family reunion.

 

`I better leave them alone; it's been a long time for them to be together. I'll tell her why later,' InuYasha thought.

 

Kagome saw InuYasha looking at her; he winked and went out the door. At that wink, Kagome blushed. The way he winked was not a normal wink. It was the type of wink that made your heart speed up.

 

When he left, Kagome's mom started to talk about everything that she missed during her coma. Kagome started to cry. She missed so many things and caused the people that were close to her, grief.

 

“I'm sorry, so sorry,” Kagome cried.

 

“Shhh, it's OK honey, you are all right now,” her mom said.

 

Kagome calmed down. Her brother gave her a picture of flowers and her grandfather gave her a balloon that really cheered her up.

 

They stayed for another hour and left so Kagome could rest.

 

“You better not slip into another coma Kagome!” Souta teased. Kagome just gave him a fun dirty look.

 

Before she drift to sleep, she thought, `I wonder what he was going to tell me before my family came in?'
