The blue aurora disappeared and Kagome's feet landed firmly on the bottom of the well. She looked up, the night sky full of stars looked down on her through the cracks of the vines that now covered the top of the well. Kagome's heart sank, this means that there was a possibility that Sango and the other had forgotten about her. . .or even worse.

Kagome shook the negative thoughts out of her head and hauled down on a vine, all the vines that were gathered on top of the well fell down to one side of her, only the net of dead vines were left clinging to the side of the well.

Taking a deep breath Kagome hauled herself up over the edge of the well and landed softly on the grass surrounding it. Tears welled in her eyes as she looked around, she was back, and she couldn't believe it. `The village. . .' she thought quickly standing up. She looked to one side of her. "It's that way. . ."

Kagome took out an arrow and fixed it into her bow. "If this works the way it used to I can let them know I'm here. . .or at least get their attention. . ." she pointed her aim up over the trees that headed towards the village and let the arrow fly. A bright purple light formed around it as it soared through the air, lighting the sky up.

Kagome watched and smiled at the arrows light went out and it fell down into the trees. "Now if no one saw that they're all blind." She smirked and started to walk through the forest towards the village. `I hope they are still around here. . .'

Kagome hadn't been walking for more than ten minutes before she saw torches moving at great speed through the trees towards her. ". . .well somebody saw my arrow." She said as she stopped. She was now in a really small field, and the people with the torches had stopped on the other side. She couldn't see who they were. . .what she did see was the large cat that stood in front of them.

"Kirara." Kagome smiled. "They aren't gone after all."

"You see something up there, Kirara?" a girls voice called.

Kirara never made a move to look back at the people behind her, she started to walk towards Kagome.

"Hey. . .Kirara. . ." Kagome reached out her hand to the youkai and smiled. "Recognize me?"

Kiraria's eyes brightened and she transformed into her smaller self and leaped up into Kagome's arms.

"Kirara what are you doing?!" the girl, followed by two other men ran up to them. The girl had long black hair and was wearing a very familiar kimono, her stomach was rounded; she was pregnant.

Kagome's breath caught in her throat, it was Sango. Miroku was standing up on back of her, so was another boy around fourteen years old, Shippo.

"Sorry ma'am, we thought we saw something out here." Sango said to Kagome as she took Kirara away from her.

"I see. . ." Kagome said, realizing that Sango didn't know who she was.

"Um. . .may I be as bold to ask why you are out here at this hour?" Miroku asked. "These woods are dangerous."

"The last time I were here all the danger had been destroyed. . ." Kagome answered him. "I haven't yet met up with anything dangerous. . ."

"The last time you were here?" Sango asked. "What do you mean?"

Kagome looked at Shippo, his eyes were sparkling. Shippo walked up to Kagome and looked her in the eyes. "I know you. . ." he whispered.

"I sure hope you do Shippo." Kagome whispered back.

Sango hauled Shippo away from Kagome and looked at her. "Who are you?" she held out her torch between her and Kagome and looked at Kagome's face. Her mouth opened slightly. "K-Kagome?"

At this time Miroku moved next to Sango and looked at Kagome in disbelief. "No way." Miroku said under his breath.

"Guys. . ."Kagome blinked and allowed a tear roll down her cheek. "I'm. . .I'm back."

Sango's bottom lip trembled; she dropped her torch and Kirara and threw herself into Kagome's arms. Long, agonizing sobs breached the girl's mouth as she buried her face in Kagome's shoulder. "I don't believe it! Oh my god Kagome!"

Kagome hugged Sango close to her tightly. "Its ok. . .Sango its alright." She gently moved away from Sango but kept her hand son the girl's shoulders. She looked down at Sango's swollen stomach. "Wow. . ." she looked over at Miroku who was scratching the back of his neck. "Been busy."

Sango laughed and wiped her eyes. "I didn't think you would have ever came back, Kagome."

"I didn't think I would either. . ." Kagome sighed.

Sango took Kagome's hands; her fingers glazed the surface of the engagement ring on Kagome's finger. Feeling the stone, Sango quickly brought Kagome's hand up to her face. She gasped. "Kagome. . .you-you're engaged?"

"She's what?" Miroku and Shippo walked over to the two girls and held their torches up as they studied the large stone in Kagome's ring. Miroku looked at her. "A lot has happened I see."

Kagome nodded. "Yes. . .more than you could ever have imagined."

"Well you must tell us all about it!" Sango said. "Come on, we should go back to mine and Miroku's hut. You can tell us all about your life then."

As Kagome was dragged away by Sango a single question crossed her mind, a question she couldn't leave unanswered any longer. She slowly slipped her hand out of Sango's and stopped walking, and as her three friends turned around to look at her she let the words slip out of her mouth. "Where's Inuyasha?"
