A/N: Please don't hurt me for not updating this story in a while. I have to other stories to worry about, but I'll try and put them on hold for a while to focus on this one- but don't quote me on that. I will do my best to update sooner, so new chapters for the stories will be up in a while. YAY!! I updated two stories so far!! I'm so happy!! Don't worry, I'm about 93% done with the next chapter of `Rags to Riches.'

Chapter 9- Kagome Lets Go (to believe I didn't have much trouble writing this chapter)

She had no idea how long she stayed sitting on that tree branch, staring blankly at the dim stars in the night sky.

`He's gone. He's gone to her, to Kikyo, again.' That thought sent jabs to heart, but it does every time he ran off to go see her.

`I'm such a fool. After all this time, what made me think he would listen to me when Kikyo's involved?'

She chuckled darkly to herself, `I'll never learn.'

Her eyes were too dry at that moment to cry, she had cried too much already.

`How long have I been up here?' she thought to herself.

She looked down, `I'm not as high up as thought. If I can fall down the well, I can make this jump.'

As though in a trance she swung her legs over the branch and fell off. Kagome landed on her knees and hands. Her knees were scraped and her hands were bleeding with minor cuts and bruises.

She stood up, but she in a weak emotional state. Clumsily, she stumbled over an unnoticed rock. She fell over again, injured her cuts more and twisted her ankle.

"Ahh!" she let out a frustrated yell.

`It's all his fault.' She thought angrily.

She thought she had let it go, but the anger, betrayal and hurt swelled in her chest. It coursed through her entire body.

"It's all your fault!" she screamed, as she knelt on the ground.

She continued yelling through the night. She was tired of holding in her feelings. She was finally ready to let them go, no matter who heard or not.

"Why Inuyasha?? It's been almost a year and you still don't notice me existence! You only notice her. I am NOT Kikyo!"

~ Now I will tell you what I've done for you

50,000 tears I cry

Screaming,

Deceiving

And bleeding for you

And you still won't hear me

….go away….

Don't want your hand this time

I'll save myself

Maybe I'll wake up for once (wake up for once)

Not tormented daily, defeated by you

Just when I'd thought I'd reach the bottom~~~

Tears began forming in her eyes, tears she thought she could no longer shed.

"You never stopped thinking about her! She died 50 years ago! You still refuse to see that. She's dead! Dead! DEAD!!" She pounded her fist against the cold ground as she spat the last three words. "She's dead." she sobbed.

~ (chorus)

I dive again

I'm going under (going under)

Drowning with you (drowning with you)

I'm falling forever (falling forever)

I've got to break through

I'm going under~~~

"I was a fool to think you could forget. How could you? You think about her everyday, at every hour. In me you only see Kikyo, never myself. You've caused me more pain than anyone I know Inuyasha!" she continued to yell.

~Blurring and stirring the truth that comes out

(I don't know what's real and what's not)

Confusing the thoughts in my head

So I can't trust myself anymore~~~

"I fell in love with you and you were too blind to see. I mean nothing to you. Out of all the people to fall for, I fell for you!"

~(chorus)

I dive again

I'm going under (going under)

Drowning with you (drowning with you)

I'm falling forever (falling forever)

I've got to break through

I'm going under~~~

Kagome's tears rolled freely down her face, and her outrageous angry yelling continued.

"I hate you Inuyasha. I take back what I said; I don't want to be by your side forever. You already chose who you want to be with. STAY with her. I hate you!!!"

~Scream at me, so far away

I won't be broken again

I've got to breathe

I can't keep going under~~~

Kagome shook her head. Lightning and thunder flashed and roared through the sky, giving warning of the rain approaching.

"You mean nothing to me!" she hollered. Kagome's body, tired and worn out gave out. She collapsed completely on the cold, now becoming wet, muddy ground. Her arms lay out before, while her legs gave into their exhaustion. Her head was facing the side, her right cheek full of mud, but she didn't care at that moment. Tears continued to roll down her eyes, eyes that no longer held any kind of emotion; she only stared blankly before her. To any by-stander would think Kagome dead, but if they looked closely, they could oxygen bring raggedly drawn in.

`My heart has been hurt before, but now it's completely shattered. Even though I know this, I still can't hate him.' she thought sadly.

`I need to get up.' She mustered up some strength to get off the ground, only to wind up sitting beside Goshinbuko. A serene peaceful feeling consumed her. Kagome shook her head at her own foolishness. She looked up at the branch Inuyasha normally slept in.

"It's all a lie you know. I can never hate you Inuyasha. I only want your happiness, even if that doesn't include me. I love you and I always will, now and forever." Kagome spoke to herself, yet still loudly, hoping Inuyasha would come any second and hear her confession.

Sango and Miroku were sitting down on the porch. Sango was facing towards where Kagome was, tears staining her eyes.

"She finally admits her feelings for Inuyasha and he's off with Kikyo." stated Sango, breaking the silence between her and the monk.

Sango couldn't stand it; she broke down crying into Miroku's arms, "Kagome is the last person in the world who deserves that Miroku. She doesn't deserve it."

Miroku had only seen the strong demon slayer cry once before, and now she was crying for her best friend. He gently ran his hand through her soft, brown hair, keeping all hentai thoughts at bay. "I agree Sango, Lady Kagome doesn't deserve the pain caused to her by Inuyasha, but I believe Inuyasha does return the feeling towards Kagome. He is just having some trouble letting go of his first love."

Sango sniffled and looked up into Miroku's amethyst eyes, "Do you really think Inuyasha returns Kagome's feelings, Miroku?"

Miroku nodded, "I do. He just needs to let go of Kikyo first."

Sango nodded and continued staying in Miroku's arms, taking comfort in his embrace.

A flash of red and silver blurred towards the sky, too bad Kagome, Sango and Miroku missed it. He had heard everything that came out of Kagome's mouth during her rampage.

`She needs to know the truth.' he thought.
