I do not own any of the InuYasha characters. Sorry for the slow update. For Chapter VI, sorry if it was a little quick and oddly structured. I modified it too many times >< that said, enjoy the following chapters ^^

Chapter VII

 

The sun started to set, leaving the sky in an orange color. InuYasha carried Kagome in his arms. He could feel her getting colder and her breathing becoming weaker. “Hang in there Kagome.” He whispered. He ran through the forest to get to Kaede's hut as soon as possible. “Maybe she found some kind of antidote to this poison.” InuYasha thought.

 

InuYasha noticed in the corner of his eye something approaching with great speed. Before he could say or do anything, the moving object arrived and stopped right in front of him; causing InuYasha to stop as well. “Hey dog breath.”

 

“Damnit… what do you want Kouga.” InuYasha said in a rush.

 

“I came to see Kagome. Her smell had changed these few days. What the hell happened to her? !” Kouga spoke in concern.

 

InuYasha explained to Kouga what was going on in the shortest way possible.

 

“You put Kagome in danger to a point that it might even kill her! He shouted, and you even let that bastard escape?”

 

InuYasha did not argue with Kouga; he only gave him a dead stare of anger.

 

“How stupid can you get? He continued, I would never let something like this happen to Kagome! I would have protected her no matter…” InuYasha interrupted Kouga with a heavy growl.

 

“All right I screwed up!” InuYasha's voice echoed through the forest. “I… I messed up big time. Nothing seems to be going right... Everything I do isn't working to save Kagome and the others. I'm running out of time and options...”

 

InuYasha stared at Kagome in his arms. Kouga looked at InuYasha with both anger and pity towards him. “… And wasting my time talking to you isn't helping her.”

 

“Fine then, you figure something out to help Kagome get better. I'm going to go kill Naraku and I will bring back his head!” Kouga said after a brief moment of silence. He was still shook by InuYasha's yell. He took off in the opposite direction of InuYasha.

Not wanting to waste anymore time, InuYasha did the same towards Kaede's hut.

There were only a few more hours before the sun would completely set.

 

After a few minutes, InuYasha made it to Kaede's hut. He burst into the hut to find Kaede holding an armed bow pointed at InuYasha. “K… Kaede?” he stuttered in fright.
