Author's Notes: Okay, this is my first try at a Sesshoumaru/Kagome fic, but I really like those, so I was just like, `sure, what the hell!' and decided to go ahead and write.

Disclaimer: I don't own InuYasha, *cries*.

Never End

Chapter 1:

"Wench! Stop crying so you can tell me where the damn shard is!" Inuyasha screamed at her, trying desperately to kill the giant rock youkai, but the youkai had a shard of the Shikon no Tama in it, making it practically undefeatable, unless he knew where the shard was.

"Left….. arm….." Kagome uttered, she had been hit by a rock the youkai had thrown, and she was severely wounded, with many broken ribs and most likely some internal bleeding. She was fading, and fast. No one seemed to have noticed though.

The rock youkai, sensing its death, hurled one more rock at Kagome, wanting to at least even the score, a death for a death.

Kagome cried out as the rock hit her, thankfully not in the chest again, but this time in the legs, breaking her right leg in three places and almost shattering her knee.

Inuyasha raised the Tetsusaiga and drove it into the youkai's arm, dislodging the shard of the jewel, but the youkai still would not give up. For a good five minutes they fought, but still the rock youkai was refusing to die. Miroku and Sango were too busy trying to dodge the rocks it kept launching at them to be of much help, Sango only able to throw her hiraikotsu every once in awhile, and missing half the time.

"Die already you damn youkai!" Inuyasha screamed at it, but still it would not comply. The youkai was only buying time to figure out where its shard was, and finally spotted it.

"No!" Sango cried, and sent Kirara to go get it before the youkai did. Kirara grabbed the shard in her mouth and tried to get away, but the youkai threw a rock at her, hitting her hind legs, throwing her off course. She still managed to get the shard far away from the youkai before she stopped to rest, still watching it with her perceptive cat eyes.

"You baka! Trying to get the shard back!" Inuyasha yelled, then attacked with a renewed purpose, knowing that if he didn't kill the youkai now he might not be able to at all. He dodged a rock and was finally able to get close enough to cut off the youkai's head, ending its life. "Finally that's over," he said glumly, then went to go see how Kagome was doing, but Kagome had dragged herself away after the second rock hit her, and was already in someone else's care.

~*~ During the fight with the rock youkai~*~

"I can't….. believe him….." Kagome said to herself, willing herself to stay conscious long enough to find someone who could help her, she was dying and she knew it. She was trying to focus just on living, but the thoughtlessness of Inuyasha kept flashing into her mind. After the first rock hit her, she was already dying, and he didn't care. She had been crying uncontrollably because of the pain, but he didn't care, he only cared where his precious Shikon shard was. And here she is now, still dying, now barely able to move, and he's still out there fighting for the shard, he didn't even notice that she had left.

Kagome might have expected this from the others; they were human and unable to let their attention wander, even for a second, for fear of getting hit just like she had. But Inuyasha, she would have thought that he at least would have acknowledged that she was hurt, a simple "Hang in there Kagome!" or even just a "Oh, so you got hurt AGAIN wench?" would have been better than him not saying anything at all! It was this that hurt her even worse than her wounds, because that meant that he either didn't even notice that she had gotten hurt, or he did and chose not to do anything about it. Kagome didn't even realize she was crying again until a tear fell onto a scratch on her hand, making it sting even worse than it did. At this point the pain became too much for her, and as much as she fought it, she fell unconscious, almost guaranteeing her death.

"There is someone on the ground up ahead Sesshoumaru-sama!" Jakken announced, smelling blood. "They are badly wounded, should we help them?" he asked his master, whom he didn't even know anymore. He had thought Sesshoumaru had hated all humans, but after he saved the life of the young Rin, he had lost what he once knew about his master.

Sesshoumaru sniffed the air. "It is my half-brother's wench, I wonder why he isn't taking care of her," he stated, and when they reached her, he looked down at her and then proceeded to walk around her.

"Sesshoumaru-sama," Rin's voice called to him from beside Kagome's almost lifeless body.

"What is it Rin?" he asked her; his voice emotionless as he looked down at Kagome's broken body.

"Are we going to leave her?" she asked as she brushed some dirt off of Kagome's face.

"She's none of our concern Rin," he told her, and started to walk off again.

"Please Sesshoumaru-sama," Rin asked, a tear falling from her left eye as she saw Kagome's severe wounds. "Please save her, she's so pretty, but in so much pain, please, save her, for me?" She looked up at him with her big innocent eyes, brimming with tears, and Sesshoumaru could not say no to her.

As much as he hated helping his half-brother's wench, this woman obviously meant enough to Rin to make her cry, so he forced himself to help her. He bent down and checked her wounds. "She is still alive, we will try to save her without Tenseiga," he said as he picked her up gently and carried her towards their ride, a beautiful winged horse creature that was big enough to carry them all. They all climbed on, Jakken in the front, Sesshoumaru behind him, still holding Kagome, and Rin behind him, holding tightly onto his waist.

"Thank you Sesshoumaru-sama," Rin said into his ear as they took off, heading towards Sesshoumaru's home.

Sesshoumaru smiled softly.
