Never End
Chapter Seven:
"Geez Inuyasha, you don't have to be all dark and dreary. Of course we'll see our Kagome again! We just have to wait and let her come to us on her own terms," Miroku said, trying to cheer everyone up.
"Yeah," Sango said, forcing a smile. She knew what Miroku was saying may not necessarily be true, but for the sake of Inuyasha and Shippou she was willing to at least pretend to believe anything.
Inuyasha gave an almost half smile that kind of resembled a hopeful grin, and Shippou looked up at Miroku with tears in his eyes. ((A/N: If you've seen the movie, think the part where he wants the last sausage thing))
"Promise?" Shippou said, staring at Miroku with his puppy dog eyes.
Miroku backed away a little, suddenly scared. "Um, yes…" he said, looking down at Shippou uncertainly.
"PROMISE?!" Shippou screamed, jumping on Miroku and managing to pin him to the ground.
"YES I PROMISE!" Miroku yelled, then he pushed Shippou off of him and hid behind Sango.
"GOOD!" Shippou said, and he happily bounded up to Inuyasha and jumped up to his usual perch on his shoulder.
"That kitsune is going to kill me before this is over…" Miroku said quietly to Sango.
Sango giggled quietly and patted Miroku on the back. "Most likely," she said, and then felt a hand on her shoulder. She paused for a second, eyeing Miroku suspiciously. But his hand was still just sitting on her shoulder. Sango, extremely surprised, began to build a fire so they could eat an early dinner. She bent forward to pick up a piece of wood that rolled away, and then mentally slapped herself for letting her guard down. She quickly picked up the piece of wood and then whipped around and knocked Miroku unconscious with it. "Oops," she said, then continued with the fire.
Inuyasha looked at her, slightly amused, and Shippou burst into giggles. "Good one Sango!" the little kitsune said, and he jumped off Inuyasha's shoulder to help with the fire.

"Hmmmmm…" Kagome moaned in her sleep. She tried to roll over but she felt a sharp pain on her abdomen and rolled back onto her back. "Shit," she cursed, her eyes popped open and she grabbed her stomach. It hurt even worse than when the rock first hit her. `What happened to me,' she thought to herself, then she remembered the incident with Kouga. `But then how did I end up back at Sesshoumaru's house…' she thought as she looked around at the familiar surroundings.
"Kagome!" Rin cried as she ran into the older girl's room. She had been asleep for days and wasn't showing any signs of waking, and Sesshoumaru-sama wouldn't use his sword on her and she was so afraid that Kagome would die and then she would be stuck with only Jakken again and Kagome was such a nice person too, she didn't deserve to die! But she was awake now, so she should be okay. Rin hoped.
"Rin," Kagome said as the girl ran up to her. Remembering how bad it hurt to just roll over, she decided against trying to sit up and just reached a hand out to the little girl. "How have you been?" she asked as Rin grasped her hand tightly.
"Rin has been fine Kagome, only worried about you!" Rin said, and gave Kagome a kiss on the cheek.
Kagome smiled. "Don't worry about me Rin, I'll be fine," Kagome reassured the girl. Rin still didn't look like she believed her, so Kagome braved the pain and sat up, still smiling at Rin. "See?" she said, and Rin grinned wildly and gave her a hug. Kagome winced, but hugged the girl back.
"Rin, you should go get Kagome some lunch, she must be starving," Sesshoumaru's cold voice said from the doorway.
Kagome looked up at him, surprised he had come to see her, and afraid of what he would do or say to her now. She had tried to run away from him after all, and although before it didn't seem as if he cared whether she lived or died, he has to care somewhat right? He wouldn't just let her come back if he wanted her dead… but then again this is Sesshoumaru, who knows what he really feels. `Someone should,' Kagome thought, `It's not natural to hide your feelings from EVERYONE, no matter who you are.'
"Hai Sesshoumaru-sama!" Rin said, then the little girl ran from the room, pausing only to give Sesshoumaru a quick hug.
Kagome looked up at Sesshoumaru apprehensively, still freaking out about what he might do. "I, I'm sorry," she said to him, looking down at her hands, which were now clasped together in her lap, her fingers wiggling around nervously.
