Chapter four: Inuyasha's secret :
Kagome sat up and looked to the container she kept the jewel shards in. They had a fourth of the jewel. She looked outside. It was late in the night. She thought about her okami youkai friend, Koga. He always wore his hair in a pony tail. His hair was jet black and long like her hair. His eyes were a beautiful brown, but she didn't know why he always fought with Inuyasha.
Inuyasha groaned. He looked down to his sword and sighed. His sword wouldn't unleash any powers when he transformed into a human. He'd had his sword since he was five so, he'd know. His mother had given him the sword before she died. It'd been his father's before he died protecting his mother.
Kagome looked over to Inuyasha. He seemed upset. She wondered why. "Hey? Umm... Inuyasha?" Kagome spoke out.
"Yeah.. What?" Inuyasha almost growled.
"You seem down.. Is there anything I can do?" Kagome kindly offered him some help.
"No.. I'm fine." Inuyasha muttered. Inuyasha looked to where the moon usually was. The moon was not there. It was the night of the new moon. Inuyasha covered Kagome's body with a blanket. "Why don't you go to bed?" He offered. He didn't want her to see him as a human.
Kagome sat up. "Inuyasha! I sense three shards coming this way and fast!" She then gasped. "Your a human!"
Inuyasha explained his secret of how on every new moon he transformed and stood up. "So, now you know. Where are the jewel shards coming from?" He inquired.
"Umm... That way," Kagome said as she pointed to the east.
Inuyasha told Kagome to just watch and headed outside of the hut they were in and toward the demon. The demon just happened to be outside of the hut.
The demon smirked. "Hmm.. A human? Ha!" The demon chuckled. It had greyish hair and seemed over seven foot tall. It was very ugly. It had piercing green eyes. "Fighting a human will be easy! Why don't you just hand over the shards?" The demon grinned.
Inuyasha and the demon finally began the battle. Inuyasha and the demon both fought hard. This demon was hurt, but it was no reason to brag. Inuyasha was also hurt! Inuyasha had an eye closed and a hole in his atomach. He was bleeding, but the demon was bleeding more than him.
Kagome couldn't just stand by. She pulled out an arrow and shot. She hit the demon! The demon fell backwards in defeat and closed it's eyes.
Inuyasha fell to the ground and began to pant. He felt pain. 'Damn these human bodies.' He thought to himself.
Kagome ran to Inuyasha's side. She helped Inuyasha stand after she picked up the three shards. She helped him into the hut and helped him lay down. She couldn't help, but hug him. "Inuyasha! Don't die on me! Please!" She cried into his red haori. He always loved to wear it along with the red hakami.
Inuyasha smiled softly. "I'll be fine." He reassured. He slowly sat up, making kagome stand. He stood up. "Where are the shards?" He inquired.
Kagome held out the container of shards. "In here." She said as her thoughts trailed. 'Koga has some shards.' Kagome thought to herself, but Inuyasha knew this. She figured that they were probably going to get them last. She helped Inuyasha back onto the bed again, but accidently fell next to Inuyasha on the bed. She was tired.
Inuyasha was also tired. He looked down to Kagome. She was already asleep. He tiredly fell asleep himself. He didn't mind that Kagome was beside him even if it was his first time to share a bed. He was to tired to care.
