Kagome walked into Wacdonald’s with her friends, Miroku and Sango. They had many shopping bags in tow. Spending the day shopping really brought out the hunger in them. Kagome promised to bring lots of things for Shippo if he promised to stay at the shrine and practice his transformations. Miroku and Sango looked very different in their modern clothes. Miroku wore a black shirt and dark and dark blue jeans. Sango wore a pretty pink dress, she layered a cropped khaki jacket over it. This would be their first outing together. It made for interesting converstion, when Kagome explained how the metal monsters were called automobiles. The concept of technology and the wonders of, fast food.
“Slow down Miroku.” Kagome laughed as Miroku wolfed down his french fries.
“Your world is so amazing Kagome.” Sango said repeatedly dipping her fries in her ketchup.
“Yes, it is filled with so many prospects.” Miroku said eyeing a group of girls walking into the restaurant. Sango instinctively punch him, to bad she had to leave her Hiraikotsu at home.
“Kagome!” It was Kagome’s friends from school, Eri, Yuka, and Ayumi. They haven’t seen Kagome in over a month and was surprised to see her with two other people. Luckily it was summer and Kagome didn’t have to make up an illness.
“Hey guys.” Kagome smiled. Offering a seat to her friends.
“Who are your friends Kagome?” Sango smiled. Yuka was the first to introduce herself smiling shyly at Miroku, she was sure to sit next to him.
“This is my sister Sango.” Kagome introduced Sango first.
“Sister!” Eri said puzzled.
Kagome smiled. “Yeah she was raised with my Father in a village far from the city. “She will live here from now on.” Yuka couldn’t stop looking at Miroku who she thought was very handsome. “And this is her fiancee, Miroku!” Kagome chirped. Sango blushed as Miroku gave Kagome a confused and fearful look. Yuka sighed and rested her chin on her palm.
“Why haven’t you mentioned Sango before Kagome?” Ayumi asked.
Kagome laughed nervously waving her hands in front of her. “Oh you know it just never came up. Well we got to go.” Kagome said pulling Miroku from Yuka’s side. “See you guys later!” She waved leaving her puzzled friends behind.
Soon the group was back at the shrine, quickly greeted by Shippo and Kilala.
“Hey Kagome!” Shippo exclaimed jumping into Kagome’s arms. “Your world is so amazing. Souta showed me the video game. You can battle without really fighting.” Kagome was so glad her friends liked it there. They could be at ease there without worrying about some demon popping out of the sky. Miroku and Sango took Shippo and Kilala inside to show them all the things they got for them and themselves. Kagome wandered the grounds. Everyone was happy, she should of been happy with them, but it was only a farce. She wasn’t happy and she hid it well as to not cause her friends to feel the same way.
“Inuyasha, you jerk. If you were here I just scream out OSUWARI!” Kagome said aloud.
*AAHHH!*
*BAM!*
It came from inside the well shrine. Could it be? Kagome ran into the shrine to see the twitching Inuyasha lying face down on the ground before the well.
“Do you just say it for fun or something!” Inuyasha yelled out as he slowly stood up dusting himself off. Kagome was speechless. Her eyes began to water as she watched Inuyasha walked towards her. He barely touched the bottom step when the crying Kagome jumped off the top step and into his arms.
“INUYASHA!” Kagome called out. He was alive and she didn’t react the way she thought she would. She wasn’t angry that he went to Kikyou. She was only happy that he came back.
“Kagome,” Inuyasha said softly wrapping his arms around his love. He wasn’t concerned that she left all he wanted to do was finally hold her and tell her how he really felt.
“Inuyasha, I thought you went to die.” Kagome said never letting him go.
“I couldn’t do that Kagome. Aren’t we supposed to be together?” Inuyasha sighed holdly Kagome tightly. Kagome could feel his heart in his chest. It was beating fast and hard. Suddenly she was feeling overwhelming happiness. But it wasn’t all from her it was from Inuyasha. She could feel his love for her, it flowed through her, overtaking her senses. They looked into each others eyes. There was no need for words, Inuyasha’s eyes said everything he ever wanted to tell Kagome about his feelings in that one moment. It felt as though her heart would explode with a fury of emotions. “Kagome.” Inuyasha said softly slowly coming closer to her face, her lips. Kagome’s face grew warm and flushed. This was it, this moment. This was the moment Kagome waited so long for. She closed her eyes and lifted her head to meet Inuyasha’s. Softly their lips touched the world seemed to slowly come to a standstill just for them. Kagome could feel Inuyasha run his fingers through her raven hair as she clutched his hakama. Kagome moaned softly taking in every tender kiss. Inuyasha never felt this way before. He could think of nothing but Kagome and her soft tender skin. ‘What did I want to say before.’ Inuyasha couldn’t remember anything except the delight in kissing Kagome. It wasn’t the first time their lips met. But it was the sweetest.
Although Inuyasha didn’t want release from their embrace Kagome felt it was time to talk. They never left the Shrine they wanted to be alone for a while longer. Kagome fidgeted with the hem of her blue dress as they sat on the steps next to the bone eaters well.
“Kagome.” Inuyasha began. Kagome looked up into his eyes. Inuyasha could remember the first time with saw those eyes, when she freed him from his 50 year seal.
I know we’ve been friends forever.
But now I think I’m feeling something totally new.
And after all this time I’ve opened up my eyes.
Now I see you were always with me.
“Inuyasha.” Kagome remembered when Inuyasha embraced her for the first time. He was in a battle with Sesshoumaru and he feared for her safety.
Could it be you and I never imagined.
Could it be suddenly I’m falling for you.
Could it be you were right here beside me.
And I never knew.
Could it be that it’s true, that it’s you.
Inuyasha could remember Kagome calling for him even in her sleep. And how peaceful she would be with him. Even after running after Kikyou she wanted to stay by his side.
It’s kinda funny you were always near.
But who would ever though that we would end up here.
And every time I needed you you’ve been there to pull me through.
Now it’s clear I’ve been waiting for you.
Kagome smiled when she thought of Inuyasha’s jealous fits of rage, whenever the wolf demon, Kouga showed up to try and claim her.
Could it be you and I never imagined.
Could it be suddenly I’m falling for you.
Could it be you were right here beside me
And I never knew.
Could it be that it’s true, that it’s you.
Inuyasha took Kagome’s hand thinking of their first kiss. And how it saved him from the darkness.

“Kagome.” Inuyasha smiled. “I love you.” Kagome gasped at the shock of Inuyasha being so open about his feelings.
“Inuyasha.” Kagome’s voice was small as she held back her tears.
“Please Kagome. I want you to be my life mate.”
