InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Nighttime is our time ❯ Chapter 2 ( Chapter 2 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

Wednesday finally came and so Kagome's fist "lesson" with Inuyasha. She was walking toward the library and had become very nervous.

"God, I'm acting like a high school girl with her first crush, this have never happened to me! How did I get myself into this, I know I do need the lessons but still, well there's no turning back so let's get on with it" she gave a deep sigh and took a sit in one of the tables at the middle of the library.

Inuyasha watched a beautiful long hair flowing down a chair and immediately knew where her new "pupil" was.

"Hi" he said casually and took a sit next to her.

"Oh, Hi" she blushed slightly but nothing out of the ordinary. "Shall we start, we've seen plenty of things and I really need help"

"Of course, now let's see what's your bigger problem?" he said while getting closer to her, their knees touching, which made Kagome a bit surprised but let it passed.

Their study took over two hours and when they had finished the library was almost empty and it was already a bit late to be in there. Inuyasha was a very good teacher indeed, he had explained everything to Kagome with such fluently and charm that she was so astonished at how she was capable of concentrating without drooling.

"Well I guess that's all you need to know for the test I hope you had understand it all" he said with a sexy grin, not a smile.

"Yes, thank you very much, I don't know what to do to pay you for this great favor you've done to me" she said while smiling.

"Ah, well, you're such a beauty Kagome, did you know that?" he said while getting closer to her, his face mere inches from here own, noses almost touching.

"W-w-hat? are you doing?" said Kagome, blushing furiously.

"How does it look like, sweetheart? I'm going to kiss you" said Inuyasha while grabbing her chin with his hand in a delicate way, not hurting her and giving Kagome heat waves trough her body.

Each time they were getting closer and closer, Inuyasha's eyes were already closed and Kagome's were half closes, he was about to press his lips upon hers, when realization took her, "Kikyo!" thought Kagome, he backed away immediately and pushed him on the chest with both hands.

"No! It's wrong. First of all you had a girlfriend and second what kind of woman do you think I am?" said Kagome, she was no longer looking timid or blushing, but getting angry at his disrespectful behavior.

Inuyasha was speechless by now, no woman since his last day of high school had refused a kiss from him.

"You know what, I'm leaving. Thanks for the lessons and all, but I don't really think we'll do it again. Good-bye" she said and stormed out of the library as fast as she could, without looking back.

"Damn, I was so close!" thought Inuyasha while slamming a fist in the table with an angry look in his face, " but anyway this doesn't mean it will the last time I'll try" and a grin was placed in his face.

"God! what was he thinking? he's such an ass, I can't believe I actually thought he will be friends with me, I pity her girlfriend" thought Kagome, still angry at the past situation.

"Mom I'm home!" shouted Kagome while putting on her slippers.

A middle aged woman popped out her face from the kitchen to greet her daughter "Great honey, just in time for dinner, how was your day?" said a smiling Miyuki.

"Well, to tell the truth it wasn't good, but I guess it could have been worse, but I finally got to understand my Arithmetic classes, so I guess that's something" said Kagome with a heavy sigh.

Her mother knew there was something else, but she didn't push it any further, she understands her daughter and will help her at any cost, but won't make her tell her something she doesn't want to (A/N: Don't you love Kagome's mom? She's so understanding of her daughter, I wish my mother was that way...) "Oh I almost forgot, there's something for you in your room, it arrived just a minutes ago, you should go and check it out" said Miyuki.

"Really? Ok, I'll go and see" she went to her room, opened the door and saw that in her desk was a vase full of flowers, sakura blossoms to be precise. "Oh, they're beautiful" she said while touching the petals of the soft flowers. "and they're my favorite, but who could have send them? ah, there's a card, let's see" she grabbed the card and flipped it open.

"What the-" she said aloud while looking at the card.

A/N: should I stop here? nah, I guess not, but I'm not telling you who are they from...at least not yet, keep reading!

----------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------

The sound of her alarm woke Kagome up the next day. She did her usual routine, took a shower, brushed her teeth, picked out some clothes, this time she opted to wear a pair of beige pants, brown boots, a white blouse with a brown jacket and a white, brown, beige stripped scarf. It was really cold outside and she didn't want to risk it. She was looking at her reflection in the mirror, when she gave a glance to the clock, "7:40, no! I'm going to be late" rushing down the stairs, she took her bag pack and car keys "Sorry I wish I could have breakfast, but I'm so late!"

"And that is supposed to be news? Jeez sis you're always late" said her little brother Souta.

"Shut up you squirt! If I had the time I'd do mean stuff to you" she kissed her mother and grandfather, and gave Souta a pick in the ribs.

"Ja ne!" said Kagome while getting to her car as fast as humanly possible.

Finally after almost rolling over an old lady, getting caught by a police man, crashing over five cars and forgetting about speed limit, she made it just in time.

"I thought you weren't going to make it Kag" said Sango with a sad look in her face, she had first class was with her.

"Sorry, lost track of time while I was changing, so how are you?" said Kagome in her kind and concerned voice.

"Well, I'm a bit melancholic but nothing to worry about" she said with a forced smile, even tough Kagome had only known her for a week they had become great friends and Kagome knew there something was troubling her friend.

"You can tell me anything Sango you know that" said Kagome while giving her dear friend a hug.

"Thank you Kag, I'll tell you at lunch ok?" Kagome simply nod and didn't push the subject any further.

The first two classes were good, but Kagome had a good amount of homework do to over the weekend. Finally lunch had arrived and both of them where heading to the gardens, Ayame had a team reunion so she wouldn't be able to be with them. Both women sat under a huge sakura tree and Sango spoke first.

"Kagome, what I'm about to tell you it's not an easy topic for me, but you've become such an important person to me in such notice that I feel glad I'm going to be able to trust it to you.” Kagome didn't want to interrupt so she just kept listening. "I feel lonely, Kagome, real lonely. Both my parents are dead, remember I told you my family lives in a village that has a history of demon hunters?” Sango asked her in a low and sad tone

"Yes" she simply answered.

"Well, you know, my village is really small and everyone knows everyone. My father was the mayor of our village, my mother was a very kind woman and I had a little brother, Kohaku, we were respected by everyone. But one night a traveler from Kyoto came very ill and asked for shelter in my house. My parents gladly accept him in, they cured him and gave him food and clothes, he was fully recovered over a week" Sango's voice was sadder with each word "but then one time when I was doing my academic test to enter high school, t-hat man, k-illed them, murder them, with no mercy, my parents fought him but he was some kind of demon that they couldn't handle. When I returned all the village was gathered around my house and three corpses where taken by the forensic" by this time Sango was crying and sobbing real hard.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry Sango, you don't have to continue" Kagome said while hugging and comforting her.

"N-no, I do, I want to tell you my story. After that I was so devastated that I couldn't continue living in the same place, so I moved out from there to live in the city by myself, I became a sort of a tomboy girl, that was always lonely or doing sports. I barely had dates and when I did they weren't good, I always ended up hurt. My point is, that I've lost everything that is dear to me and I don't seem to find someone to love and love me back, and it makes me so uneasy to feel this way Kagome, I feel pathetic. That is why I hate couples and feel awkward around them, because I'm jealous, j-jealous of what they have!" Sango had already calmed down but had the same sad look, "I lost my parents and I've been alone for five years, no one to watch over me no one to love me" her bangs were covering her eyes form Kagome's view but she could tell she was crying again.

"Sango, I know I've got nothing to give you back your parents or anything of the sort, but there's one thing I can give you and that is my friendship and support. You're such a lovely and brilliant woman that I'm sure will find what she's looking for, because people like yourself is always regarded. I know how hard is to lose someone dear to you, I've gone trough it, but there's always something to be glad of, and that is, that you have the opportunity of being alive" Kagome's words were so comforting and truthfully to Sango that in that precise moment she realized that she was no longer alone, she had found a friend who truly understand her and will help her to go on.

"Thank you Kagome, I'm so glad we've found each other, but may I ask, who did you lose dear to you?" Sango asked.

"My father, six years ago. He had leukemia, he was such a good person and a math teacher, brilliant. That's why I decided to take Arithmetic in my first year, I know it's a silly thing, but working with numbers reminds me of him so much, he was very precious to me" Kagome said and to Sango's surprise, she had a smile on her face.

"Oh, I'm sorry too, but as you said to me, I'll always be there to help you, so that makes two" she finalized.

The two friends, stayed under that three for a bit longer enjoying each other's company and very glad to know they had found their best friend and that they could always count on each other.

----------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------
After lunch Kagome was so happy, because Sango had confided her past to her, and that got her in a really good mood.

She entered her Arithmetic classroom and took her usual sit in the middle of the room, she got ready for class and was going to open her notebook when she saw him.

In his all magnificent glory looking as perfect as ever and radiating such a passion that no man that she had known possessed. In the moment he took a seat next to her, her good mood evaporate instantly. She was so mad at him and he still sat down next to her, he really had guts.

"Hi Kagome, how's your day?" he said knowing too well that she wasn't in good terms with him.

"You're such an idiot Inuyasha, you think that because you send those beautiful flowers to me, (A/N: bet you already knew he send them) I'll be kissing your filthy feet? You have a girlfriend and I am not the kind of girl to help a man cheat. So you can quit continuing with your nasty intentions, because it isn't going to work. Now I know why you were so happy to help me and to think that I thought you may actually be a good and nice guy" with that she turned around to face the board and said no more.

Inuyasha was about tell her something, but it was ruined by the teacher silencing and starting class. They didn't speak during the whole class, but Inuyasha couldn't stop looking her way once in a while. When the class was finally over, Kagome rose to her feet and was about leaving when Inuyasha grabbed her arm.

"I'm sorry" he said, but Kagome still wasn't in a better position.

"I accept your apology, but that doesn't mean that I've changed my opinion of what kind of guy you are" she said glaring at him as hard as she could.

"That's so? Then, what kind of guy you think I am?" Inuyasha asked raising his eyebrows.

"Oh please, as if someone had never told you. You are the typical rich guy, who has never worked a single day in his life, that only spends his father's money in looking good and having luxuries, has a nice girlfriend and goes around with her to make people think how much he loves her, but in reality it is all a damn show to cover up how you cheat on her on every girl you lay eyes on, that's the kind of guy I think you are" she was trying to free herself form his grip, but it was too hard.

"Ok, I respect your opinion. But let's make I deal, we'll talked and get to know each other" at this Kagome glared even harder at him "as friends" he added quickly "and if after that you have the same opinion about me, I let you live in peace and never come any close to you, what you say?" he said with his usual grin.

Kagome was thinking it hard, she really did want to know him better and to see his true identity, but what if it was just a trap?, but didn't his father say that everyone, even the vilest of your enemies deserve a second chance? Her father.... she had always followed her fathers principles so she was going to try it.

"Ok, I'll do it, I'll get to know you as a friend and we'll see if you really are a different person from what you look, now let me go" when she was free she said a warmer good- bye and left.

----------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------

The next two weeks were wonderful for Kagome. Sango and her had become best friends, and good friends with Ayame too, and had a great time together. Inuyasha and her had become good friends too and learned a lot about each other, she had even told him about her father.

She had learned that he was indeed the son of Inutashio Takahashi, the owner of the Fukumori hotels, which were all over Japan and were very luxurious. He had two brothers and loved practicing martial arts, he was a really nice guy and her opinion about him had changed completely.

But Kagome had a problem, the more time they talked the more she liked him, he was very attractive but she felt more than that, it wasn't love but a fatal attraction that obviously couldn't be possible, but it reminded there. She hadn't dare to confess it to anyone, not even Sango, she was ashamed. She just let buried in the bottom of her heart.

----------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------

It was a beautiful Saturday and she was sleeping peacefully in her bedroom, when her cell phone started to ring.

"Hello?" answered a sleepy Kagome.

"Hi, it's me, Inuyasha, did I wake you?" said Inuyasha through the other line.

"Well, yes, but it's ok, it was about time I wake up, what's the matter? you never call this way" Kagome was truly surprised of his call, he never called on a Saturday morning, he was always sleeping at this hour.

"It's just, that I was wondering if we could go out as friends" Kagome was more surprised by that, they never hang out, they only talked during class or his teaching lessons. Although she was relieved he had said as friends. She knew a part of her was sad, but she avoided it, she didn't want to deal with that feelings at the moment.

"Sure, no problem" she answered.

"Ok, I'll meet you at the park near your house at five o'clock" Inuyasha was grinning widely "Finally, is time to get what I want".

"Ok, I'll see you there. Ja ne" she hung up and started wondering "What would he like to tell me that is so important? What could it be that is necessary for us to go out? Oh well I guess I'll found out when I'm there"

Kagome's house was left just for herself by the weekend. Her mother's sister had invited them to her house in Tokagua and she hadn't been able to go because of school, so she was alone and had to do the usual shores. She finished everything around three and that let her enough time to get ready. When she was done taking a shower, she looked out the window and noticed it had started to snow, "Oh it looks so lovely, I love when it snows" the trees were starting to get covered with the soft white material provided by nature and the sky was covered in heavy clouds that anticipated more snow, it was such a lovely sight.

She finally got ready, she wanted to look good, after all it seemed to be something important. She had chosen her brown boots that reached her just bellowed the knees, a dark brown skirt that had squares with different tones of brown, a deep yellow turtle neck sweater, a brown pea coat, a pair of brown leather gloves and a light brown hat to cover her ears from the cold, her hair was left down in soft waves down her back.

She decided to walk, the park wasn't far from her house anyway. She arrived after ten minutes of walking and the scenery took her breath away.

There in a rock was seated the man of her forbidden dreams. His hair was flowing freely because of the wind, he was sitting in a rock with his right elbow resting on his knee and his face resting on his hand. He was looking at the horizon in deep thought and concentration that he hadn't even acknowledge her presence. He looked so mystical, so handsome, totally beautiful. And to add to her pleasure, there was the scenery around them. All the trees were covered in white dust, making it look so pure and forbidden to the touch, in that moment he looked at her with such eyes that they felt like if they could see through her very soul.

He hadn't notice that she had arrive, until he felt her staring at him. He got up and looked at her, she was absolutely stunning and perfect to his eyes. He started to walk to her, ready to tell her what was necessary to get her, there was no going back, he had to do it. He stopped right in front of her.

"You look lovely" He said with his breath taking grin.

"T-thank you" to say Kagome was nervous was nothing, she was almost shaking but not form cold but from his look, he had never looked at her that way, with such intensity and determination.

"I want to tell you something" she was about to say something, when Inuyasha talked first "No, don't say anything until I'm finished. I want to say that this past couple of weeks have been wonderful, I've got the pleasure to meet such a perfect creature as yourself, kind, beautiful, concerned, fiery. But even tough I tried to take you out of my desires I couldn't, you just wouldn't go away, so I'm going to reveal something very important, come here" he took her gloved hand and lead her to a bench, he cleaned it from the snow that covered it and sat down.

"Kikyo and me, Kagome, everything about our relationship, is nothing but a mere fraud" Inuyasha spoke the words softly.

"What? How so?" Kagome couldn't believe it, they looked so content and truthfully together.

"Kikyo's father is a very well known and powerful man such as my father, and they made this agreement for us to be together, even against our wishes, but let me tell you that Kikyo and I were best friends before knowing that pact, we did everything in our hands to take it back, but that's when Kikyo's father, Naraku, threaten my father of suing him if I didn't agree. So I did it, but in reality we are nothing, you get my point?" he said looking her straight in the eye.

"Yes, but what does that have to do with me?" Kagome asked in a deep questioning voice.

"I'm attracted to you, and so are you, I'm asking you Kagome" he moved his lips closer to her ear, sending Kagome shivers down her spine "to be my lover, and beautiful nighttime will be our time" he pronounced those words slowly and smoothly, those words that would change Kagome's and Inuyasha's lives forever.
