Chapter 6:

 

Monday came quickly and so the classes at Tokyo University. Students filling the school everywhere, but one person from that entire crowd I am personally outstanding, Inuyasha. He was walking as confident as usual with a pair of blue jeans and a red t-shirt that showed how much he works out, but the most interesting part was the look of his face, he looked confused? Indeed, the dream that he had two nights ago had been perturbing him, and mostly the woman who had been in it. He was becoming tired and a little worried about her uncertainty in her mind about his proposal, he had been waiting a bit too much by now, he was impatient and insecure, two things he had never been since the first year at high school.

 

With those thoughts in his mind, he didn't notice a pair of feminine arms circling his well-built torso.

 

“Good morning” she said softly and pressed herself to his strong back.

 

It took him a minute, to recognize that voice; actually he almost said the wrong name “Kag...Kikyo” he turned around and found himself in front of the woman he was supposed to love, but that strangely didn't captivate his dreams.

 

“Sorry, I'm a bit tired today, I didn't get too much sleep” he flashed her a smirk, that seemed to take the confusion from her face, and then leaned down and gave her a quick peck on the lips.

 

“Oh. Don't worry, let's go to class or else we'll be late” Kikyo took his hand and lead him to the class room.

 

In the end of the hall, a slim figure watch them silently `Am I doing the right thing?' an anguish look on the person's face.

 

Inuyasha was turning the corner when he saw a flash of black `Kagome?' he stopped and looked again, but he saw nothing there.

 

“What's wrong?” asked Kikyo

 

“Nothing, I just thought…no it doesn't matter, keep going” he started walking abruptly, and trying to take the damn girl out of his head `This is becoming obsessive' with that final thought he decided he would concentrate on school…… for once.

 

 

 

 

Kagome had been in her own world all morning, thinking about her decision over and over again, counting the pros and cons, everything she could. She even hadn't looked for her friends, because she knew they would ask her what was in her mind and she wouldn't be able to answer them with the truth, so she prefer to hide than lie at them.

 

She was sitting in her favorite tree, a large cherry tree that was in the farthest area of the campus, a very quiet and lonely place in which you could rest peacefully. Her eyes were closed, and her breath even…..peace…. something she hadn't felt for a few weeks.

 

“You like it here, don't you?” he said softly.

 

“Yes, it is a soft place were you can think freely and relieve yourself with fresh air” she answered calmly to the man sitting next to her, like if it was perfectly normal that he was sitting next to her at this moment.

 

“What are you thinking?” he asked.

 

“About…..life….I guess. It's just one of those days when a lot of things pop into your head, but they don't really make any sense at al. You get my point?” Kagome turned her face from the sight in front of her and looked him in the eye.

 

“Yeah, I've had that feeling in several occasions” he answered and gave her a warm and comforting smile. After looking at each other for a short period he said softly “I miss you” he said.

 

“I know, and I've missed you too for all these years” she leaned her head on his shoulder and hugged him strongly like if he could go away in any moment(A/N: Who is he?)

 

“My little girl, you've become such a beautiful and wonderful young woman” he gave her a kiss on the forehead.

 

“Why did you have to leave me daddy?” tears were forming in her eyes and threatening to fall.

 

“I don't know, I don't have that answer. I'm so sorry I left you when you needed me the most, but I'm here to tell you that whatever you do or whatever you decide, you must always follow what you believe and what you know it's right” he took her in his arms and gave her a hug that made her spilled all the tears that were in her eyes “Don't cry, believe Kagome, always. I love you and I'm watching over you”

 

She was about to tell him that she loved him too, when her eyes opened instantly and she realized it had been a…….dream. She touched her face and realized that she had actually cried “It felt so….real; like if I had really seen him again, why did I dream of him?, maybe…no I've made my decision and besides it was just a dream, my father is gone; I've known that for a long time” with that last thought she got up and walked away from the big tree.

 

 

 

“I haven't seen her all day, where could she be? She missed this class, which is the only one we have together. Dammit!” he resigned himself and decided that it was better to let it go for the moment and concentrate on the numbers written in his book.

 

Every student in the classroom was working peacefully, you could hear the rain outside getting louder and louder with each moment. The only sound was the scratch from pencils or pens and the whispers coming form little chats once in a while, but nothing more. Suddenly, all the calmness and serenity was interrupted by the door opening in a rush.

 

“Professor! I'm sorry, I was at the other side of the campus when it started to rain and I run as fast as I could, but then I tripped an-“said a woman, her pants were soaked and spilled with mud, blouse soaked, her hair was wet and messy, but she still looked as beautiful as ever.

 

“It's ok Miss Higurashi, don't worry. Go to the bathroom and clean yourself up before you sit down and come into class” said the kind professor without a tone of severity.

 

“Thank you, Thank you” she turned around, but not before sending a look to the golden-eyed man sitting at the front. He only smirked at her “She looks like a mess, but she doesn't lose her natural beauty, not even once, thank kami she came”.

 

 

Kagome made it out of the classroom with a face of embarrassment “Inuyasha saw me like this! And he even smirked. Idiot, but he looked so good….calm, just a few more hours and everything will be over” She went to her locker and retired a blouse that she had brought, because she was supposed to borrow it to Ayame. Her pants will have to stay wet and dirty because she didn't have others, but it was ok, they'll dry. Unfortunately the blouse was a bit revealing and didn't give a lot of protection against cold and rain, but it was better than a wet one or nothing at all.

 

She was out of the bathroom in five minutes and went straight to the classroom. There, all faces turned to look at her, but at least she was more presentable now, so it didn't matter.

 

“Good, now that you aren't wet miss Higurashi” everybody laugh at that one “please take your usual seat, next to Mr. Takahashi” Kagome's eyes got big as saucers, but she knew that she had to affront it.

 

“Thank you professor” she sat down, but didn't look at him, he'll have to wait if he wants to know her decision.

 

Class went smoothly an easy, tension between them, but not a word from any of the two to break it. They knew it wasn't the time to talk or say something to each other. Professor announced class was over and every student rose to their feet and left, except two of them: Inuyasha and Kagome.

 

He finally talked to her.

 

“Why don't you say it for once and for all? I can smell that you want to tell me something, don't play the dumb with me” his face had a serious look and lacked his usual playfulness.

 

She had been packing her things on her bag calmly that his words surprised her “Sorry?” Kagome said simply.

 

“You know what I mean. You've been avoiding me since the incident at my house, but at the same time you want to talk to me. I know it, so tell me already, what is it?” he stated.

 

“I-I...yo-ou” she was speechless; she'd thought he haven't even notice her bizarre behavior, but he had and know she was stocked on a dangerous situation.

 

He was silent, waiting for her, he didn't plan on talking unlit she did. Kami knew he wasn't patient but this time was different, because whatever she could tell him would change everything and would help him clear his mind.

 

“Fine, but I'm not answering that question at school, I've got things to do and so are you” Kagome had recovered her composure and was talking like herself.

 

“I agree. I'll pick you up at your house at 6:00. Is that ok?” he still didn't smile and that was worrying Kagome, a little, just a little.

 

She just nodded her head and left instantly. Inuyasha watched her leave and was feeling something inside….something unknown and different, but he couldn't place his finger on it, so he let it go.

 

 

She was a coward, she knew it, but she couldn't “I've should told him right and there to finish with it, but I couldn't. I want to say it when I'm in a comfy place and without a lot of people” Kagome was walking toward her next class as fast as she could, thinking about her stupid behavior just five minutes ago. Her face lowered, bangs covering her eyes, she didn't realize…until she collide.

 

She almost fell on her back, but two strong arms griped her upper arms and supported her. “Sorry” she muttered quietly.

 

The other person simply laughed “Kagome, Kagome. Don't worry; I'm the one who should be worried. You look worried, are you fine?” Kouga said, with his usual concerning voice.

 

“Kouga! Yes, I'm fine, just a lot of things going through my head. It's been a while since I've seen you. How was the competition in Greece?” Kouga had been in Greece for a week on an athlete's competition.

 

“Great! We won five medals, three golds and two silvers. I won a gold one” his cheeks turned a lovely rose.

 

“Congratulations, I'm very happy that you are back safely and happy” she flashed him a truly and beautiful smile, because she was really happy for him, after all she was a very dear friend to her.

 

“Thanks. I hope we can talk more, now that I'm back. I miss talking to you Kagome” he did something not very usual among Japanese, he gave her a very comfy hug, that Kagome received gladly.

 

“I will love to Kouga” they hugged for a little longer, until he let go.

 

“Kami! I'm going to be late for my class” he laughed nervously and touched his long hair.

 

“Then run!” she laughed “Bye Kouga” and smiled.

 

He left running as fast as he could and waved a hand at her. That encounter had lifted Kagome's mood after all he had helped Kagome, he was very sweet and concerned about her every time they talked, such a great friend.

 

Kagome made it just in time to her last class of the day, which she had with her two best friends, Sango and Ayame.

 

“Kags! We finally got to see you. We've been dying to know about your mystery man!” Ayame said and punched her lightly on the arm.

 

“Yeah, well. He's not my man, just” she hesitated “a very old friend” and gave them a small smile.

 

Sango wasn't convinced with that, whoever that man was, was getting Kagome different and pensive all the time, but she must trust her friend and believe what she says “Ayame, leave her alone, it's just an old friend. When I talked to him, he said the same thing”

 

“But they could be having a secret and forbidden relationship, like in Hollywood” Sango and Ayame laughed at the absurd comment. Kagome got very nervous, but in seconds it was gone and she was laughing too.

 

“Don't be silly girls, I'm not hiding anything” she tried to say it in the most sincere tone she could muster “I'm really sorry for this”

 

“Yeah, we know that. You are too good to be lying” said a cheerful Sango. Kagome just smiled a sad look at that comment.

 

The three friends sat on their respective seats when the professor entered the classroom, and enjoyed each other's company.

 

Kagome returned home around three and was happy to see that everything was quiet and nothing would be able to disturb her. They sat at the table to start eating and were talking pleasantly.

 

“And then mom, he passed the ball to me and I shoved it right to the center and made us win!” Souta was very excited about his football game and was jumping in every direction.

 

“That's great son. I'm glad you really like it” said Miyuki Higurashi.

 

“Squirt, don't be so proud, probably it was just luck” Kagome stuck her tongue to her younger brother.

 

“Ha! I don't think so sis. It was such a scene, if you've been there you-“he was jumping again.

 

“Ok, ok I believe you squirt. I'm going to my room, I'm going out and I need to get ready” she got up and put hr dishes on the sink.

 

“That guy with dog ears is coming?” asked an innocent Souta.

 

Kagome was very surprised by that comment “What?” she asked stunned.

 

“Yeah, well I saw you two the other day at the park, and you looked….together” Souta said with food on his mouth.

 

“A HALF DEMON IS COMING?” said an exasperate grandfather.

 

“Grand-“Kagome was trying to calm him.

 

“I need to put charms all over the house to purify him, this can't be possible, and we are on a sacred place where no supernatural creatures can disturb us. I need to go to the shrine” he got up and left with an angry look.

 

“Kami” Kagome sighed and let it go; when it came to her father you couldn't do anything to change his mind, he was a truly crazy man.

 

“Don't worry honey, you now your grandpa; he's too good to be true. You go, on I'll stop him from purifying your friend” said Miyuki and blinked and eyed at her daughter.

 

“Then is he coming? I want to see him, I believe he has a very cool attitude, maybe I can invite him to play video games with me or go on a ride on his car or may be to the park on bicycle, Kagome can I go with you? Souta asked very happy and excited.

 

“Souta, leave your sister alone, you are still too little for that sort of things. Go to your room and finish your homework” Souta lowered his head and left obediently.

“

Thank you mom” Kagome kissed her mother and left to her room.

 

“Be good Kagome” that's all Miyuki muttered after her daughter left.

 

“I can't let my family know about Inuyasha, if I don't tell Sango, much less I'm going to tell them. I hate to be lying all the time, but there's no other choice” with those thoughts plaguing her mind she decided to take a long and relaxing shower before getting ready for her “appointment”, after all she still had two more hours before he came.

 

Kagome filled the tub with hot water, splashed some bubbles on it, put a bit of music to relax, her mind and body needed it badly. She stripped of her clothes and got in.

 

“Ahhh. This is what I call gooood life” she massaged her upper arms to relax them with the hot bubbles.

 

Her eyes closed, body covered with a scent of roses and relaxed with hot water, was making her go to sleep. Images of someone touching her bare body were in her mind; he was enjoying it and so was her. She opened her eyes and looked at her reflection in the mirror and asked the questions she had been asking herself all day long.

 

“Am I doing the right thing?” but no answer came, she always asked, but no answer ever came out of her mouth. She looked at the clock and noticed it was getting late, so she decided it was better to get ready soon or she wouldn't be able to make it on time.

 

She got out of the comforting tub and wrapped a towel around her and one around her head. In her room she picked the clothes that she thought would be more appropriate, it was rainy outside and she didn't want to go through the same situation as in the morning.

 

She chose a pair of denim black jeans that fitted her bum and legs very nicely, a blue blouse with “V” neck that had details in white and black, her black boots that she loved so much and a black jacket. Her make up was natural and her hair was up in a high ponytail. She checked herself one last time in the mirror and was pleased with what she saw.

 

She went to her mother's room to tell her that at any moment she was leaving, but she found her sleeping on the big bed.

 

She leaned her head to hers and gave her a kiss on her mother's forehead “Good-bye mom. I'll be back at night”.

 

Kagome was walking down the stairs, when she heard someone knocking at the door. She opened and saw him, Inuyasha. He was wearing a pair of blue dark jeans, and a simple black t-shirt, even though he wasn't all that dress up, he looked as handsome as ever.

 

“Have you finished checking me up and down?” he said, his cocky attitude was back.

 

Kagome's cheek turned red but gave him a dirty look that made him shut up “Let's go” she said dryly.

 

“Yes sir” he laughed.

 

Inuyasha opened the door of his red mustang and Kagome got in. They were driving to who knows where, when Kagome finally noticed the direction they were heading.

 

“Where are we going?” she asked.

 

“To my place” he said plainly without taking his eyes off the road.

 

“Why? I thought we were supposed to talk. I don't want to go to your house, I want a public place” she was getting angry, how dare he to think they were going to sleep together or something.

 

He stopped the car abruptly “Look, we're going to my house, because there we have no interruptions or anything. In a public place is a lot of people and I'm sorry to tell you, but someone can see us together and you don't want that, do you? It'll defiantly ruin your reputation, Miss Perfection. Besides I'm not going to rape you….I'll rather murdered you at this moment” his temper was rising with each word, he was lacking from his usual self- control.

 

Kagome directed him her deadliest look “Fine” and turned around.

 

During the whole ride to his apartment, neither of they said a thing; the tension was so thick you could touch it. It was getting worse and worse with each moment.

 

“He's impossible” Kagome thought while looking outside the window.

 

“She's unbelievable” Inuyasha thought, he was gripping the wheel so hard that his knuckles were turning white.

 

After another uncomfortable five minutes, they made it safely to his apartment. Kagome was out of the car as soon as he parked, she was angry and frustrated.

 

Both of them walked inside the fancy building and went straight to the elevators. Inuyasha pressed the button and it opened instantly.

 

“Come in” he said to Kagome.

 

“No, I'll go in another” she said coldly and disappeared from his view.

 

“Fuck! This is not going as I expected. How does she manage to control me in that way?” you could say that he was angry because of her ass attitude, but he was more scared of what she wanted to tell him. There where to possible things: that she wanted to be with him or that she wanted him to get out of her life? Extremes, but one just as possible as the other one.

 

Inuyasha arrived to his floor first, of course, and waited for Kagome to come. She was there less than a minute later. They made it inside his apartment in silence and tension was still in the air.

 

“Want something to drink?” he asked, his voice was no longer gruff, but calm.

 

“No” but Kagome on the other hand, wasn't in a good mood; she didn't understand why had she decided to come with him, she felt so stupid. She took off her jacket and sat on the black leather couch.

 

Inuyasha poured himself a glass of water and watched every move she made, her expressions. He put the glass on the counter “Let's finish wit this” and went to sit in front of her. She was sitting in the couch and he was sitting in the table in front of the couch, his eyes looking straight at her but she had her face looking at everywhere but him. She was ignoring him, why? This wasn't the Kagome he knew, she was being almost like Kikyo when she was mad, and that's ……scary

(A/N: it gives me the creeps when Kikyo stars to laugh maniacally at certain episodes, uuuu)

 

“So, what was that you wanted to tell me? He asked politely.

 

No answer came; she was making him suffer with every minute. He waited for a little longer for her to talk, to make a sound, a move, anything! But she didn't, she was completely motionless and expressionless.

 

He couldn't take it anymore, the bomb that was being built inside him finally explode.

 

“Ok, that's it! Enough! If you're not going to tell me anything then leave, I don't wan, no I hate when someone is making me waste my time” he was up and pointing to the front door.

 

“Excuse me?” she asked like if she had heard wrong.

 

“You heard me! I received you in my house as nicely as I can, and you can't even give me a word?” her eyes were turning a dark gold.

 

“I'm sorry, but it wasn't my idea to come to your apartment in the first place” she was on her feet now, and was getting as angry as him.

 

He laughed with sarcasm “Ok, whatever. I just want you to tell me anything you have to say. I'm not patient Kagome, is something I've lacked all my life, but with you I deserve a price. I've waited fucking weeks, WEEKS! For you, and now that the princess decides to talk, you are not talking! What the hell is wrong with you?” with each word he said, he approached nearer and nearer to her, Kagome with each step forward he took she gave one step behind. They stopped when he saw she was going to talk.

 

“You want to know what's wrong with me?” she was getting closer to him and punched him lightly, with her little finger, on his hard chest “You! You've made me confused, sad, you've mixed so many emotions inside my head that I don't understand anything anymore. You are an asshole, a jerk, a-“he grabbed her arm and brought her to crush on his chest.

 

Kagome was astonished, all voice had flown away and the only thing she could do was look at those pair of eyes that were looking so intensely at her.

 

“Shhh, don't say anything, please” and she didn't. He hugged her, like you hug a precious lover. His mouth started to kiss her ear and subconsciously she closed her eyes in pleasure. Her little hands were touching his strong shoulders, gripping them hardly. Inuyasha finished with her ear, and went to treat her neck, giving her sensual butterfly kisses that made Kagome's body turn in fire.

 

Kagome wanted to kiss him, to feel his lips, because the only time they had kisses she had been drunk and didn't remember it very well, she wanted to remember and know how he taste, felt, all of him.

 

Kagome took his head on her two hands and brought him to her face. As soon as lips collide together, both minds were lost in each other. It was not a passionate kiss, it was sensual and romantic, the best kiss Kagome had ever experienced. He was gentle and didn't want to control everything. His tongue explored everything inside her mouth. He was such a great kisser.

 

He finally separate himself form her. They looked at each other, their breathing was fast and Kagome's face was flushed with excitation.

 

“Now are you going to tell me?” he asked with his smirk that characterized him so much.

 

Kagome smiled for the first time that evening. She had made her mind and was determined to follow it. There was no turning back, no matter what people say she was going to do it.

 

“Yes” she looked him in the eyes. Took one more step to be as near as she could, and softly gave him a little kiss on the lips “I want to be with you, that's all I want”.

 

He kissed her again and again and it felt so right, but it was so wrong, but at the moment any of those thoughts mattered. They were happy and content with themselves and that, that is all that matters……….for now.
