InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Nightwalker ❯ Empowerment ( Chapter 30 )

[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]

Man, Narek sure got beat up in that last chapter…

ScarletRaven1001, that was one of THE longest reviews I have gotten for this fic! Thank you SO much. ^///^

Also, I'd like to point out one more time that they are not vampires. They are nightwalkers.

Heh, my sis brought up something very interesting. She said, “Claire is around fifty right? She needs a boyfriend.” Of course we were only joking at the time, but all of a sudden the perfect counterpart and the wacky relationship formed in my crazy mind…now I'm wondering if I should make this guy come to life…but I have way to many characters to handle already! (Hint)

Also, angel-up-above-heaven: NAREK IS NOT YOURS, he's MINE! ^_^

Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha, nor will I take credit for Romiko Takahashi's genius.

Part Thirty: Empowerment

“How is she?” Inuyasha asked when Rukiya entered the hallway.

Shaking her head, Rukiya looked from Inuyasha to Kagome and said, “She's asleep, but I don't know if she'll stay that way.”

Kagome bit her lower lip. “What do you mean? She's going to die?”

Rukiya ran her hand over her face. “I don't know what will happen.” She half sobbed. “When I tried to hear her consciousness, I couldn't find her voice. There's so much noise in her subconscious that I can't make any sense of it. I think Narek might have broken her somehow. What did he do to her?” Rukiya looked from Inuyasha, who looked away, to Kagome.

“He…” She began to say.

“Kagome stop.” Inuyasha met Rukiya's eye and said, “Some things are better left unknown.”

“I see.” Rukiya whispered. “Whatever it was, it has harmed her mind. Her body has resisted the venom and she's a little cold. Now it's all a matter of her will to live.”

“You mean she may never wake up?” Kagome asked.

“Maybe.” Rukiya said in a low voice, her eyes on the floor.

“This is all my fault.” Kagome sighed.

“Hey,” Inuyasha snapped at her, “don't start…” He never finished his sentence for Kagura and Sesshoumaru stepped out of the room.

“Rukiya, you should see this.” Kagura beckoned. Her face wasn't stoic as usual and the sorrowful frown she wore made Kagome nervous. “What is it?” She couldn't help but ask.

“Come and see.” Kagura answered. When Inuyasha made a move to follow, Sesshoumaru stopped him. “What?” He growled.

“Leave them be.” He said.

Leaving her mate and her brother in law behind, Kagome entered the room to be welcomed with the overwhelming scent of blood. Un-attracted to it because she was a woman, Kagome made her way to Lilliana's bed. Kagura waited until Kagome and Rukiya were by the bedside to pull away the covers and reveal the cut on her neck. “This was where Narek bit her yes?” She asked Kagome.

When Kagome nodded, Kagura said, “Then why is it that the combination of his venom and Fenrir's didn't kill her?”

“Who cares? At least she's alive.” Kagome huffed.

“I would agree with you if this,” Kagura pulled the blanket lower, “wasn't here.”

Rukiya's face drained of so much color that her skin became a shade lighter. Over Lilliana's heart was a blue, crescent mating mark. “That can't be possible!” She yelled at Kagura. “How? It doesn't make sense!”

“When that creature is involved, it seems nothing is impossible. Take Kagome for instance.” Kagura snapped.

“So that's why she survived the first time he bit her back when I was human.” Kagome mumbled.

“Kagura, are you sure it's not just a scar?” Rukiya insisted.

Kagura sighed, pulling her shirt lower to reveal her gold mating mark. “Smooth moon-shaped cuts like these only appear on nightwalker females that have mates. If it were anywhere else, like the one that appeared on her neck after he bit her earlier, it would look like a scar, not a discoloration.” Kagome pressed her hand to her chest where her mating mark was. Six days after the mating ritual it had smoothened and become a crimson color, resembling a tattoo.

“But doesn't mating require…copulating for five nights?” Kagome gulped.

Kagura growled. “I don't know what that monster did, but if I ever run into him, I'm ripping him to shreds.”

“I'm going to kill that fucker!” Inuyasha yowled when he heard the news. He stomped toward the door of the living room before Sesshoumaru held him back by the arms.

“You're not going anywhere.”

“Let me go damn it!” Inuyasha hissed, his eyes red.

Kagura came around in front of the two brothers and slapped Inuyasha across the face. “Get a hold of yourself. Going out into the city while it's still daylight and looking for a killer isn't going to help the situation. Save your animosity for the next time you meet him.”

Growling, Inuyasha pushed Sesshoumaru off him and stomped up the stairs. “Inuyasha?” Kagome called when he passed. “I'm going to bed.” He huffed.

“This fucking sucks.” Claire whined from her seat.

“I thought Bill didn't allow to curse.” Sesshoumaru remarked.

“Well Bill's not here so I'll curse as much I as fucking want to. Mother-fuck fuck, fuckity fuck fuck fuck! Oh, I've never been so pissed!”

Kagome was taken aback. She's never seen Claire so angry. Rukiya rose from her seat and placed her hand on Claire's shoulder. “Maybe you should follow Inuyasha's example and go to sleep before Sesshoumaru washes out your mouth with soap.”

“Fine.” Claire huffed as she mimicked her creator and disappeared above the stairs.

Sighing, Sesshoumaru said, “We could all use some sleep. It was a long night and it's going to be an even longer one tomorrow.”

Kagome stayed in the living room while the other nightwalkers went upstairs to get some rest. She heard their doors close and followed their footsteps with her ears until all the sounds stopped. When she was sure that everyone was asleep, Kagome let the tears fall out of eyes. Crying wouldn't change anything, yet she couldn't help herself.

This was all her fault. If only she were stronger, maybe she could have broken out of Narek's control and stopped him from touching Lilliana. If only she had been awake that night when Narek had bitten Lilliana above the heart. Maybe she could have at least distracted him. Nightwalker or human, she was useless to the family. She was always getting saved as a human and as a nightwalker she could barely control her urges and had yet to learn how to use her special powers, if she had any. Was giving blood and being saved all she was good for?

“Kagome?”

She froze and quickly whipped her eyes. “What is it?” She cleared her throat, trying to keep her voice straight.

Inuyasha came down the stairs and looked at her face, noticing her glassy eyes. “Are you crying?”

“No. I'm just sleepy that's all.” Kagome said through a sob. She pretended to yawn to cover the pain in her voice.

“You shouldn't worry so much about Lilliana. She'll be fine.” He said.

“Right.” Kagome stuttered.

Inuyasha stared at her. “Is there something you're not telling me?”

“No.”

“You're lying.” He placed a hand on her shoulder. “What's wrong?”

Shrugging away from him, Kagome said. “I'm just fine, see?” She smiled.

Inuyasha sighed. “Listen, you're a part of this family now. That means you don't have to face all of your problems alone. Take it from someone who knows. Sometimes it's better to tell someone else your problems. But if you don't want to talk to me I'll leave.”

Kagome bit her lip when Inuyasha turned his back. He was her mate now and she knew she should trust him, yet she was stubborn to hold on to what little dignity she had remaining, but…

“It's just that I feel so useless.” Kagome blurted.

Inuyasha turned with a stunned expression but quickly corrected himself and said, “How come?”

“I can't do anything. All I do is get in the way. When I was human you always had to save me. Now it's not any different as it was back then. If I were stronger I could help but all I'm useful for is being dead weight.”

“That's not true. You saved my life remember? Even if I might not have deserved it.”

“What are you going on about?” Kagome sniffed, whipping her eyes again so he wouldn't see the tears. “You save my life plenty of times. I just returned the favor.”

Inuyasha shook his head. “If there's anyone that should feel useless it's me.”

“Who are you to complain? At least you can control your powers. At least you can fight without constantly needing to be saved.”

“But you've just started being a nightwalker, Kagome. You really don't think that the others didn't once have to be protected by Sesshoumaru, Kagura, or me? You really don't think that they didn't have to struggle to control their bloodlust like you are doing now? So what if you make mistakes. You can only get stronger.”

“That doesn't really help me Inuyasha.” Kagome hiccupped and rubbed her eye. “When will that happen? When everyone in the family is hurt because I couldn't step up and help?”

“Maybe you should sit down.” Inuyasha held her shoulders and brought her over to the couch. Kagome sobbed. “I'm so helpless.” She covered her face.

“I don't believe that.” She heard Inuyasha say. “Weren't you the one that beat off those drones with your fighting skills?”

“Until you saved me.” Kagome said.

“You helped Lilliana kill Hakudoshi remember.”

“Until Narek came and knocked me out. I couldn't even stop Fenrir from biting her earlier.” Kagome brought her knees up to her chest. “I couldn't even stop Narek from biting me.”

“Well how could you have expected to go up against him when you were human?”

“You're right.” Kagome cried.

“I didn't mean it like that!” Inuyasha snapped, putting an arm around her back and pulling her close so her head rested against his arm. The sound of his breathing made Kagome's fangs pulse, but her emotions beat back her urge to bit him.

“You should blame me not yourself for everything that's happened to you.” Inuyasha admitted.

“Are you still talking like that?” Kagome sniffed. “You promised we'd start fresh remember?”

Inuyasha thought about how she made him swear that they'd start over the sixth day after their mating. He had tried, but some wounds had been hard to close, particularly because of his guilt. “I did. But even I can't be composed forever. You think you're weak. Try being strong and not being able to stop one person from terrorizing and killing the people you care about.”

“But that wasn't your fault either. There was nothing you could have done.” Kagome tilted her head to look at Inuyasha. His expression was so poignant that it broke through her sadness and made her feel sympathy for him for the first time.

“Was there really nothing I could have done? Maybe if I never got you involved, none of this would have happened. You could have had a normal life.”

Kagome felt her eyes sting, but not with sadness this time. She pinched his shoulder. “Ow! What was that for?”

“If I keep blaming you for what happened it'll be like I'm always making excuses. Get off your high horse. I don't blame you for what happened to me anymore. What's done is done right?”

She had wanted to blame him though. A few nights after she had gotten to Hong Kong, after he had left with his brother to go to Africa, Kagome had cried. With the help of Lilliana, she had eventually come to terms with being a nightwalker. It wasn't like Inuyasha had been the one to change her, but blaming him for turning her life upside down was petty and she was too stubborn to hold that kind of grudge.

“Maybe you should take your own advice Inuyasha.” Kagome felt a smile creep onto her face. “Heh, the way you feel isn't that much different from how I feel. Who cares if we make mistakes? We can only get stronger right?”

Inuyasha gave her a small smirk. “You know before, you only used to make me feel like shit.”

“Well that's comforting!” Kagome snapped angrily, pushing herself away from his shoulder.

“That's not what I meant.” Inuyasha huffed as he pulled her back with his arm around her waist. “I mean, I never thought you'd be the one to comfort me. I thought you hated me.”

“I don't hate you!” Kagome growled. “What gave you that idea?”

“Well after everything I put you through…”
“Inuyasha, shut up. You're giving me a headache.”

He laughed. “Now there's what I wanted to hear. I don't like seeing you crying.”
“And I don't like hearing you blame yourself. Do me a favor and forget about your guilt. It only makes me feel guilty.”

“Okay.” He moved to stand but Kagome held onto his arm.

“Do you mind if we stay like this a little longer? I don't want to wake anyone up if we go upstairs.”

“Sure.”

“Hey, Inuyasha.”

“What is it?”

“Thank you.”

“Thank you too.”

That wasn't the ceiling of her room, Kagome thought when she opened her eyes. When did she fall asleep anyway? She thought as she turned over to rest on her other side. As she did, she face to face with Inuyasha and let out a squeak that made him open his eyes. “My neck.” He groaned.

Ignoring him for the moment, Kagome tried not to move, or concentrate on how her body was pressed against his on the couch. She tried not thinking about how his arms rested on her waist because her fangs were starting to pulse. “Morning.” She said slowly. “Or should I say `Good Evening?'”

“Funny.” Inuyasha yawned. “My neck hurts.”

“I don't know how you two slept on the couch without breaking it.”

Kagome turned to see Claire sitting on another couch across the room. She jumped off the couch.

“You know you could have seen us and left.” Inuyasha said as he slowly rose to a sit. “There's a thing called privacy.”

“You two looked so comfy, I didn't want to wake you. Besides, I just got here.” Claire shrugged. “Orders from the boss. I'm supposed to take you out for practice.” Claire told Kagome.

“You sure are cheerful.” Inuyasha said under his breath.

“I'm always cheerful Old Gloomy.” Claire clicked her teeth.

“Oh yeah? What was up with all that `mother-fuck fuck fuckity fuck fuck fuck' yesterday?' You're lucky Kagura didn't slap you silly.”

“Kagome,” Claire growled, “can we leave before I punch him?”

“Claire, is this really right?” Kagome asked. It wasn't that she was lazy, but was it really all right to go out and practice controlling her bloodlust when Lilliana was still in a coma?

“Do you want to master your bloodlust or not?” Claire asked impatiently, glaring at Inuyasha who was sticking his tongue out at her.

“I do, but while Lilliana is still…”

“Kagome, you should go.” Inuyasha said. “We might as well be productive.”

“But, what if we get attacked again?”

Standing, Inuyasha stretched and said, “Then I'll come along.”

“Oh no! That means I'll have to deal with your lecturing. Why don't you two go alone then?” Claire groaned.

“Didn't you say taking Kagome out was Kagura's decision? You want to be rebellious today?” Inuyasha said.

“Ugh. You hit the nail on the head Gloomy. Fine.”

Rukiya sat with Sesshoumaru and Kagura. Her mind was clouded with heavy thoughts but planning their next objective helped keep her thoughts away from troubling matters. It had been three days since the attack on Lilliana and still the nightwalker had not woken from her coma. Shaking her head, Rukiya focused her thoughts elsewhere. Now was not the time to fear for the worst. She needed to set her priorities on their next move.

“We should move to another location. With Lilliana still asleep she's very vulnerable and if our enemies should find out hiding place we'd be at a disadvantage.” She said.

“Where do you suggest we go?” Kagura asked.

“I would prefer a city. It seems that when we pick areas that have less people in them we are attacked more often. Of course, with a new born nightwalker, being surrounded by people would be risky, but if it means that we see less enemies, then I think that's the best plan for now. It would also be wise to contact Kanna and find a place to regroup soon.” Rukiya said.

“Are there any cities that we already have a home set up in?” Kagura asked her mate.

“Los Angeles. We have not been there in years. The city itself is filled with rogue nightwalkers. If we are lucky, some of them night not have allied themselves with the nightwalker king yet. And since it's such a polluted city, we should expect to see less of the King's nightwalkers there. No nightwalker other then the rogues have become accustomed to the heat orders.” Sesshoumaru answered.

“Should we tell Kanna to rendezvous there?” Kagura suggested.

“For now, no. I think it best if she remain in Africa until we have located the king. But if the need arises, we should ask her to come to an area close to where we are staying. The movement of so many nightwalkers might cause suspicion.”

“So it's settled then.” Kagura announced. “We leave for Los Angeles at sundown tomorrow.”

The sound of the front door opening drifted into the room, followed by Claire's voice. “We're back!” She yelled into the house. A moment later, Kagome, Inuyasha, and Claire came into the living room. Claire slumped down on the couch. “So have you three reached a verdict?”

“We're going to California tomorrow.” Rukiya said.

“Sweet. Redondo Beach here I come.” Claire said as she rose from the couch and walked away from the room.

“Someone is putting on a fake smile.” Kagura said when Claire was gone.

The room was quiet for a while. Since Claire's angry outburst a few days earlier, she had put on a happy face whenever she was near the any of the family members, yet everyone in the house could feel her sadness. Of course, her upset wasn't the only negative feelings in the house. Despite the fact that the family was continuing their rebellion against the king, whenever there was time to think about it, their thoughts about the family members they had lost would return, and it was difficult not to shed tears. Only Clare was the one that always thought about who was gone.

To keep morale from dropping, it was a silent oath not to show any frowns or mention fallen family members. When there was the fear of losing another, no one had the courage to speak of their lost loved ones. Silly superstitions had never really bothered the family before, but they were beginning to hold onto any hope that came their way, especially after losing half their family.

“Rukiya!” Claire's voice bellowed down into the living room, breaking the silence. Without a word, Rukiya rushed out of the room and up the stairs with the rest of the family following.

“What is it?” Sesshoumaru demanded when he reached the top of the stairs. Claire stood in front of Lilliana's room. Her face was a ghostly white. “She's dead.” Claire wailed.

Rukiya gasped and ran into the room. Kagura raced after her while Inuyasha tried to calm down a frantic Claire. Kagome threw open the door and jumped to Lilliana's bedside where Rukiya was holding her palm to check for a heartbeat. Kagura placed a hand on Lilliana's forehead.

“She's cold.”

“There's no pulse.” Rukiya shook.

Kagome wailed and placed her hands on Lilliana's chest, intent on performing CPR, but suddenly the world dropped from underneath her. The moment she touched Lilliana everything went black. Stunned, Kagome searched through the darkness, calling out to Rukiya and Kagura but hearing neither of their voices.

For a while, Kagome had been nervously walking through the dark. It wasn't until stars appeared in the sky above and she felt grass under her feet that she let out a breath. Slowly the world began to come back into focus and Kagome realized she was standing by a tall tree that was on a hill. On all sides there were mountains and Kagome realized that she must have been in a mountain range somewhere.

Then she heard sobbing. Searching around the tree, Kagome almost tripped over someone. Kneeling down, she noticed a child. It was a little girl. Her knees were to her chest and she was crying with her head hidden by her arms. Kagome noticed blood on the girl's ankle.

“Hey, are you all right?” Kagome asked gently as she reached to touch her. Suddenly Kagome gasped and pulled her hand back. Her fingers had gone right through the child's knees. “What's going on?” Kagome shook, rubbing her arms with her hands. Howls of wolves were heard in the distance and suddenly the child moved.

She was a beautiful child with black curls and hazel eyes. When another howl was heard, she tried to stand but her ankle made her topple back down. “Ach.” She cried.

Kagome watched the child shiver; she looked about frantically for the source of the sounds. “Marique.” She whispered.

New voices filled the distance and Kagome found that she couldn't understand any of them. When she turned in the direction of the sounds, Kagome saw lights. A moment later a young man rose over the hill. He lifted the torch in his hand higher and squinted into the dark. Kagome narrowed her eyes at his appearance. He was a boy with dark curly hair and tanned skin.

Making his way across, he walked right through Kagome as though she were a ghost, he knelt in front of the child. When she saw him she backed away and winced from the pain in her leg. Noticing this, the young man tore off a sleeve of his shirt. “Me shajavee.” He warned the child as he pulled her leg toward him. Taking off the girl's shoe, Kagome watched as he bandaged her swollen ankle.

“Heirique! Gata, hesa, I found her!” Kagome jumped when suddenly the words they were speaking began to make sense to her. She saw two more lights in the distance before two older men appeared.

The young man lifted the child over his back. When the child looked at one of the men with a torch, she hid her head in the young man's shoulder and sobbed.

“Nar-jan. How is she?” One of the men said.

“Her ankle is twisted, Father. I think she must have fallen somewhere.”

“What the hell is going ON!” Kagome wailed, hoping the men would hear her. Then suddenly the scenery dissolved and Kagome found that she was in the dark once more, only this time someone was calling her name.

It was Inuyasha. A moment later, Kagome felt a pain on her cheek and glared at Kagura before she realized that she was back in Lilliana's room. “Looks like that did it.” Kagura puffed.

“Kagome, are you all right?” Inuyasha asked.

Before she could even think Kagome said, “She's not dead.”

Rukiya and Kagura looked at her before they glanced at Lilliana's body. “Kagome, she's not…” Rukiya trailed off, whipping a few tears, “she's not breathing and there's no heartbeat.”

“She's not dead. I know she's not!”

“Kagome, you need to sit down.” Inuyasha moved to steer her away from the room but Kagome shoved him off of her. “No, I'm sure of it!”

“How do you know then?” Kagura questioned fiercely.

“Because she's dreaming!” Kagome answered.

Rukiya hiccupped, hope appearing on her face. “What are you talking about?”

“When I touched her, all of a sudden I felt like everything I was seeing was a different world, like I was dreaming. There's no way she can be dead if she's dreaming!”

“Kagome, I think you need to sit down.” Inuyasha insisted.

“No I don't need to sit down, I'm positive she's alive.”

“If you can prove she's still alive when she's not breathing then I'll believe you. Stop speaking nonsense!” Kagura warned, her eyes filling.

“I can prove it!” Kagome wailed.

“How?”

“Look at her eyes.”

All three nightwalkers turned simultaneously and saw that Lilliana was awake and blinking at the ceiling.

“His majesty would like to speak with you.” Narek glared at the twins. So they had finally found him. His body still sore, he rose and followed two of the king's closest bodyguards into the king's room.

It was dark. It was always an abysmal blackness wherever the king was.

“Leave us.” Came the king's voice.

With his face devoid of emotion, Narek watched his two escorts, Juromeru and Kageromeru, leave the room, closing the doors behind them and sealing the light out.

“Given your previous work, I have been very lenient with your punishments, boy.” The king began. Narek could not see him in the darkness, but he was able to concentrate on the king's scent and he knew that his master was right in front of him.

“You have failed me once before and it seems that my sentence to you was not severe enough. Of course, your past mistake is nothing compared to what you have done now. I care not what was going through that mind of yours or what compelled you to save an enemy. However…since it seems that my penalties on you have no effect, and considering the seriousness of what you have done…it's time that I took something precious from you.”

“Precious?” Narek repeated. There were only three things in this world that were most important to him and he doubted the king would take a material object from him. Trepidation crept through him like ice water. What could he possibly take?

In the next instant, a loud and painful wail was heard and Narek doubled over, gasping and shaking. The king had indeed taken something from him, and Narek gasped out of shock and fear, the pain unimaginable.

The king strode past him, his hand bloodied, and said. “Pick yourself up.” Then he was gone, leaving Narek alone.

Kagome sat on her bed trying not to think. She knew that across the room, Rukiya was crying from both happiness that Lilliana was alive, and sadness that her future was uncertain. Somewhere in the house, Kagura was helping Claire regain her composure, while Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru were downstairs trying to make sense of what had just happened.

After Lilliana had opened her eyes, she weakly came to a sit. A moment later, Rukiya and Kagura cried and embraced her before pulling back and remarking about her sudden loud heartbeat. Inuyasha had fallen to his knees and shouted before he too grabbed Lilliana. At first, Lilliana didn't recognize them, but as her mind focused, she noticed Kagome and asked her what happened. It took a full hour to explain to Lilliana that she was asleep for the last few days. Things were progressing smoothly until Kagura came to the topic about the mark on Lilliana's chest.

Lilliana had listened to everything they had said without a word and when they were finished, she stood, wobbling a little, and went in front of the window of her room with her back to them. “Leave me alone for a little while.”

Unwilling to leave her in such a state, Rukiya had insisted she stay, but Lilliana gave her a weak smile and begged to have some privacy for a little while. So they had compromised to have Kagome and Rukiya stay near Lilliana's room if there were any change.

As Kagome listened for any signs of change from Lilliana's room, she soon heard singing. She didn't understand the words of the song, but the melody made her feel sad. The pain in Lilliana's voice was contagious as Rukiya sobbed louder. Luckily, when a knock was heard on the door, Kagome and Rukiya stopped listening to Lilliana's song and let Inuyasha into the room.

“Sesshoumaru would like to talk to you two.”

“But Lilliana-” Rukiya began.

“Kagura and Claire are by her room.”

Nodding, Kagome slipped off her bed and followed Inuyasha down the stairs. When she entered the living room, Sesshoumaru told her to sit down. Rukiya sat beside Kagome, trying to compose herself in front of the family head.

“You said that when you touched Lilliana, you suddenly began to see a different world?” Sesshoumaru began.

“Yes. It was like I was asleep, but I knew everything that was happening.”

“Describe it to me.”

When Kagome was finished retelling the story of what she had seen, Sesshoumaru cupped his chin. “The child in the dream. Could she have been Lilliana when she was small?”

“They were speaking a language I didn't understand at first. I think it might have been Armenian. I think it might have been a recollection of when she got lost as a child.”

“So it was a memory you were seeing.” Rukiya said.

“Is this like mind reading?” Sesshoumaru asked.

Rukiya shook her head. “I can only hear people's thoughts. It is always what they are thinking at the time and I can only hear it if I concentrate. I've never `seen' anyone's thoughts, let alone anyone's memory.”

“Strange. I've never heard of a power that allows a person to see into another person's memories.” Sesshoumaru remarked.

“Could this be a power that she shares with Narek?” Rukiya asked.

“If he can see into people's memories, it would explain a few things, such as how he knew exactly what we were doing, but even I doubt Narek could do such a thing from a distance.” Sesshoumaru considered.

“Maybe he read Fenrir's memories.” Inuyasha suggested.

“I don't know. I only did this when I touched Lilliana. I'm not too sure if he can see people's memories without touching them.” Kagome said.

“In any case,” Sesshoumaru began, “we must get back on track. We leave for Los Angeles when Lilliana begins for feel better. We will investigate this new power later. For now, we should concentrate on Lilliana's health.”

This chapter was a bit longer then I had intended and it came out differently from what I had in mind. Granted, I had twelve pages written but I hated it so I redid the whole thing and it took me all Saturday! No it's five a.m. here and I'm exhausted, so I'll go back and fix my horrible, horrible spelling and grammar at a latter date. Please excuse them, I'll fix the mistakes when my brain isn't on sleep mode. Other then that, I hope you enjoyed!

Jian OUT!
