`You bastard!' Sango struggled against Mirokus strong hold. He held the girl back, while she tried to aim her hirakotsu strait towards Inuyasha. Tears were sliding down her cheeks and her eyes were so dried up from crying, she could barely see.
The hanyou boy stood perfectly still in place and gazed back at the sad and broken down women. Trying to make a decision and finally doing something right in his life, just made his friends hurt more then he could possibly imagine. Inuyasha could not understand why every time he thought, he would be happy, life went down hill. Did this much pain really come from just listening to the words hidden in your heart?
`Let me go!' Sango madly gripped Mirokus shoulders and sank her bear feet in to the ground for support. She gritted her teeth and glared at Inuyasha. Seeing the cold face and cold amber orbs, she yelled out, cursing the demon to his death. Miroku tried his best to calm her down, but nothing could get past the barrier she created around her heart. Finally Sangos strength gave in. She collapsed to her knees and buried her face in to the monks robe.
All he could do was whisper sweet things in her ear, while his fingers ran thro her hair.
Crying her heart out, Inuyasha carefully took a step forward and reached out his hand. Miroku gazed at his friend and said nothing. Shaking his head no, the monk looked away. In that moment, Inuyasha felt like being a kid again. He had been rejected by the people that he trusted the most. Now, Inuyasha knew the truth. He did not just loose the ones he loved, he lost something that felt like family after such a long time of being trapped in a world were no one cares about you or even gives a damn to your existence but instead only wants to see you in grave.
Inuyasha couldn't bare watching the scene anymore. It reminded him too much about the past, when he was just a boy. Perhaps, if he disappeared and let them be, then maybe Miroku, Sango and Shippo could finally find another way to live again, due to such a loss of their dear miko.
Stumbling back, he turned on his heals and walked away. Stopping just for a moment, Inuyasha gazed back one last time, then he was gone in to the forest, were the hanyou truly belonged.

`It's…it's really…'
Kagome sat on the bottom of the old well. Her small hands were grasping the dirt. She was so shocked and yet not even at least surprised. She always knew Inuyasha would choose Kikyou over her. Kagome always knew, that no matter how hard she tried Inuyasha could never really let her in his heart.
The hanyous soul had forever belonged to the dead miko and there was nothing Kagome could do about it. It didn't matter how many times Kikyou tried killing Inuyasha and how many times Kagome stood by his side defending him, the boys passion for the girl he loved in the past only grew stronger and bigger with every minute she was away.
Kagome could bring back the times when Inuyasha couldn't wait for night to fall. Then he would run off, completely unaware of Kagome's feelings and how much pain he caused her.
Honestly, Kagome never expected him to even think about such a small thing. Even when the hanyou knew Kagome saw him kissing that woman, he just turned his back and walked away.
`Why Inuyasha? Why didn't you simply say goodbye?'
Kagome realised the man she loved, couldn't stand her and actually got annoyed with her presence, but somewhat deep inside, she knew he cared for her, even if that meant only as a friend. Still, she could not understand why Inuyasha just sealed the well. Perhaps, after the jewel was complete, he just waited for the right moment to get rid of her forever, despite the night they spent together. It was just his pathetic way to say ``thank you for all you did for me, now get lost''.
It proved to Kagome, that her judgment was right! Inuyasha never saw her more then just a lousy jewel detector. He kept her save, because if she died, there would be no way to gather all the broken shards and put them together. There would be no way for him to become a full fledge demon, what he longed for ages ago.
Remembering the final battle against Naraku, Kagome recalled telling Inuyasha she liked him as a hanyou and nothing more, but like he ever gave a damn. He was stubborn and no way in hell Inuyasha would ever listen to Kagome. Maybe not seeing each other anymore, was for the best? Still, Kagome couldn't allow all of it to end this way.
Digging her fingers in to the cold soil, Kagome began throwing the dirt everywhere, trying to open the seal and get thro. Tears were sliding down her cheeks, while her fingers were slowly turning red. Gritting her teeth helplessly the girls skin became full of scratches. Blood began to trail down her hands, while she tried to make a hole in the ground. It didn't work.
Crashed apart, Kagome slammed her fist in to the stone wall.
`I can't help my self…I just want to see you one last time Inuyasha!' Kagome covered her face and cried. She loved the boy and even if she could, she wouldn't change those feeling for anything in the world. Not knowing what to do, Kagome called his name several times but never got an answer.
Tired and exhausted, she stumbled to her feet and barely stood, since she broke her ankle at the fall, when the well wouldn't open. Somehow making her way up the old rusty ladder, Kagome sighed and stepped in to the blinding sunlight. Making slow and hurtful steps towards the house, the girl stopped for a moment and glanced to the left, after hearing someone call her name.
`Kagome!' The girl found herself stare at the silver haired figure, dressed in fire red cloths. Her lips parted and she couldn't move. Was she seeing images or was this simply her hallucination?
`Inuyasha!' she rasped out despite everything and jumped in his direction, only tripped. Her fall was broken with a pair of arms, who caught her in the nick of time. Grasping his white shirt, Kagome gazed up and those beautiful amber orbs turned in to brown.
`Kagome-chan, are you alright?' The girls eyes began shining and filling with water. After all, it was just Hojo-kun. Realising this had to be her destiny the 16 year old girl clung to the boy with all her strength. She wasn't about to loose another person who was dear no matter what.
(I shall use Hojo instead of Houjou cause it's easier to read^.^)

`Inuyasha…are you sure?' Kikyou stood on the edge of the cliff, gazing at the night sky, while the wind played with her long black hair. Her cold gaze wondered around to the land below.
Inuyasha slowly opened his eyes and stared blankly ahead `Kikyou…I made up my mind. I'll do anything to make up for what happened in the past' he sighed, got to his feet and went to stand beside the dead miko.
`Inuyasha…I appreciate your loyalty, but what good are you to me if there is not but a single piece of happiness left in your soul?' Kikyou asked.
`I'm happy…I really don't know what you're talking about Kikyou?' Inuyasha curled his fingers in to fists, trying to keep his emotions inside. Sure, he was happy, but the other part of him wasn't. It was long gone dead right after the well was sealed and his heart realised it'll never see Kagome again. Her sweet scent will never again wonder to his nose and her hands will never again wrap around his neck, hugging him like they used to back in the old days.
How had he become such a monster, separating the girl away from her second family?
`Inuyasha, I'm not sure this is what you desire…you think I am blind?' Kikyou placed her cold hands to his face `You think I don't but I can see the sorrow in your eyes, I can feel your broken heart…your shattered memories…you love Kagome, don't you Inuyasha?'
Inuyasha didn't replay. He pulled Kikyou to his body by her shirt and buried his nose in to her hair.
After several minutes of silence, the hanyou narrowed his brow `Yes…but I love you both Kikyou…and there is nothing I can do to change my emotions. However, it is my choice with who I choose to be and I choose you' he sighed `I know I'll never be able to forget Kagome, but…I can try'
Kikyou slowly wrapped her hands around his torso, pressed her ear against his chest and listened to his steady heartbeat. `Why me Inuyasha?'
`Kagome doesn't belong here Kikyou…she never has and never will' With that he crushed his lips with hers. Both fell backwards and off the cliff. The earth opened and fire burned thro the cracks. Soon, they were swallowed in to the blinding red light.

`Inuyasha!' Kagome sat up in her bed, panting hard. Her hand reached out towards the ceiling, like she wanted to grab something that wasn't there. Dropping her shoulders, Kagome realised it was just one of those nightmares she had this past few weeks. Wiping the sweet from her forehead, the girl threw her head back against the pillow.
Placing her palm over her heart, tears began to flow down her blushing cheeks. Once again, she found herself crying, even after, what seemed, such a long time. Snapping her eyelids open, she threw the covers away and ran to the bathroom.
Leaning over the toilet, she threw up. Kagome collapsed on the cold marble floor and gazed out the window in to the silver moon.
`I'll never forget you either Inuyasha'
