Chapter 31
Keep flying for you…Back to Kagomes Time
Miroku and Masahiro stood over the still loudly guffawing hanyou. The younger monk crossed his arms and raised his eyebrows questioningly, the edges of his mouth turning down. With a heavy sigh, the older monk raised his eyes to the sky and then shook his head in exasperation.
InuYasha stopped laughing and lay on his back on the ground, grinning up at them.
“I don't know if I even want to ask what you have been doing, young hanyou,” Masahiro intoned.
Said Hanyou shrugged and put his hands behind his head.
“You didn't think I could help,” said InuYasha, “but I'm doing Miroku here a favor!”
“A favor?” Miroku repeated his voice edged with doubt, and little fear.
“Yeah,” InuYasha said, grinning again. “With what I just did to Kagome, Sango saw first hand how good having sex is.”
“What?!” Miroku yelled, his face flushing and eyes going wide in alarm.
Groaning, Masahiro put his hands together in prayer and started breathing deeply through his nose. Buddha must have sent this incorrigible hanyou his way just to test his patience. If this group completed their training before he gave up in total exasperation, it would be with Buddha's grace.
“Don't worry Miroku,” InuYasha scoffed. “I didn't have to be there to do it. All I have to do is visualize it and -BAM! Kagome gets it!”
With a sigh of relief, Miroku closed his eyes and raised his hand to his forehead, then looked up. “Aren't you worried about what Kagome will do to you in return?”
“I don't care,” InuYasha said with a shrug. “It was worth it.”
“I wouldn't be so glib if I were you,” said Miroku.
“Hey! What happened to `thank you'?” said InuYasha, jumping off the ground. “I just hope Sango isn't disappointed when she finally lets you do it, after watching what I can do to Kagome.”
Miroku was speechless as the hanyou started laughing again and walked away.
oOo
Kagome groaned and sat up in bed, leaning on her elbows. Her hair was all mussed, there was sweat dripping off her forehead and her panties were soaked. Sango looked back at her silently, eyes still wide in astonishment, clutching the sheet.
“Oh, just you wait, InuYasha,” Kagome moaned. “You are so going to get it…”
The miko looked up at Sango and sighed, then smiled faintly to let her know she was all right. Swinging her legs over the side of the futon, she sat next to Sango, clasping her hands in her lap.
“Let's forget what happened right now and get to work, shall we?” Kagome said.
A few moments later, Kagome had unclothed and lay down next to Sango to do chakra spooning. The demon slayer did her best to concentrate, but all that was happening bubbled in the back of her mind like a burbling stream.
By the time Kagome and Sango came out of the room, it was evening. InuYasha had gone to get some fish to eat for dinner. Miroku and Masahiro had started the dinner preparations.
“How are you?” asked Miroku, taking Sango's hand, his brows drawn down in concern.
“I'm okay,” said Sango with a smile. “But you know, we are forgetting something.”
“What's that?” said Miroku.
“We were supposed to return and tell Shippo how Kagome and InuYasha are,” Sango replied.
“Oh, poor Shippo,” said Kagome. “He must be worried.”
InuYasha came walking up, a lot of fish strung up on a stick over his shoulder. Without a word, he handed them over to Kagome.
“InuYasha, I think we should go back to Kaede's village,” said Kagome. “Shippo must be worried to death. And from there, I think I need to return home.”
“Am I coming with you this time?” said InuYasha, scowling and crossing his arms.
“Yes, you can come with me,” said Kagome. “We can leave Miroku and Sango here to continue learning from Masahiro.”
“Okay,” InuYasha said, mollified. “When do you want to leave?”
“In the morning,” said Kagome, sitting down to take the fish off the stick.
So it was agreed by all that this was the course they would take. Dinner was peaceful, to Masahiro's relief, but everyone except InuYasha seemed to have something on their minds.
Kagome was secretly plotting about when she would get InuYasha back. It would be when he least expected it. He wouldn't get away with what he had done. When the time was right, she would know it, and then he would get his. She tried not to let her face betray her thoughts, covering her secretive smile with her hand.
Sango and Miroku sat next to each other on the porch, eating. The demon slayer was subdued, thoughts and emotions running amok in her mind but unable to sort through them. At her side, Miroku was like her rock in a stormy sea. Every once in a while, he would smile at her while they ate, and she clung to each and every smile.
As for Miroku, he was just concerned for Sango. The monk concentrated on keeping a strong front for her, and not let her see his anxiety over her inner turmoil. What InuYasha had quipped earlier still rankled, and he longed to speak to her about how she felt about the incident in the Tantric sex room with Kagome. It just wasn't a good time in her present mood, so he waited and hoped they could speak in private later. That is, as long as the hanyou with the sensitive hearing stayed out of it.
That night, Kagome and InuYasha dragged the futon from the platform back in the house and slept in the main room. Miroku and Sango were given the Tantric sex room. Nothing further happened, and everyone slept peacefully. Even Masahiro, who really needed a break from the crazy antics of the day, slept well.
The next morning after breakfast, Kagome and InuYasha prepared to leave. Miroku took Kagome aside a moment and whispered in her ear, Get him back for me, too. Kagome giggled behind her hand, and winked at him.
“Come on wench, let's go,” said InuYasha impatiently.
As Kagome climbed on his back, the hanyou turned to Miroku and smirked.
“I heard you Miroku,” said InuYasha. “Good luck…you're going to need it!”
