InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Non-violent Communication ❯ A Rare Bitter Moment ( Chapter 3 )
[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]
AN: As I've said, my new motto is "fuck it" and just write and post, no matter how unfinished I think it is, no matter how crappy. Hey, it's all cause, right? (as in making a cause to get an effect).
Disclaimer: Inuyasha and the gang are owned by Rumiko Takahashi. I do not profit from writing about them, except for a feeling of vague accomplishment.
Series Summary: Inuyasha desperately wants to figure out how to communicate to Kagome what he really means, what he really wants (of course first he has to ADMIT what he wants!). He knows he can't figure it out on his own and ends up taking a class at the local meditation center - Non-Violent Communication!
Chapter Summary: Inuyasha agrees to try taking a non-violent communication class, and Kagome indulges in a rare bitter (and somewhat hentai) moment.
Reviews: are lovely indeed! Please be honest, but please be kind! I never really understood author's appreciation for reviews until I posted and got some reviews! My deepest appreciation and heart-felt thanks to all who took the time and care to do so.
Rating: although not yet terribly lemony, this fic is rated x for a reason. Don't read it if you don't like it (or it's illegal for you).

Non-violent Communication
Chapter 3: A Rare Bitter Moment
The next day Inuyasha came to the shrine as agreed. Mama Higurashi was waiting for him in the kitchen with her usual gentle smile.
“Inuyasha! Come in. Would you like something to eat?”
He nodded, mumbling his thanks. He still wasn't entirely sure how smart it was to have asked Mama H for her help with this. But he had tentative hope…and was very nervous. As he ate, Mama Higurashi filled him in on what she had found.
“Well, I talked to my friend. She was very happy to help me. She gave me the name and number of the instructor for the non-violent communication class.”
Inuyasha sputtered, spraying food.
“Wha-, Wha-, Whadda ya mean violent?!?” He was angry and shocked. How could Mama H think that he was violent with Kagome?!
`Shit!!! I knew this was a fucking mistake! I never shoulda asked her! Now Kagome's MOM doesn't get what the hell I'm sayin!'
Mama Higurashi just smiled again. “I don't think you are violent with Kagome, Inuyasha. I know that you would do anything to protect her.”
Inuyasha subsided, still wary.
Mama H continued, “The reason they call it `non-violent communication' is because…well, I don't thoroughly understand it, but apparently there are various levels and types of violence. Some are very obvious, like hitting somebody. Others are harder to see, like deliberately teasing somebody to hurt their feelings.”
That made Inuyasha pause. Hurting Kagome's feelings was the whole reason he was here. He tentatively nodded.
“Anyway, learning what they call `non-violent communication' can help make it so that the other person can really understand what you are saying. It really has helped my friend tremendously. Do you still want to learn this?”
Inuyasha wanted anything that would help him not hurt or piss off Kagome. He didn't like the idea that some one might think he was in any way violent with Kagome, but he had sworn he would figure this out or die trying.
He crossed his arms and looked away, “Keh! I suppose I can meet this instructor person…but if he thinks I'm violent with Kagome, I'll kill him!”
Mama H hid a smile behind her hand at the irony. She knew Inuyasha had a heart of gold, but his communication style could hardly be called `non-violent'.
“I've set an appointment with him for today. I figured you would rather go while Kagome is in school. His office isn't far. We can walk over there later this afternoon. Why don't you come back at 1pm?”
“Keh.”
Mama Higurashi raised an eyebrow at him. He caught her meaning - if you're serious about learning this, start now.
“Uh, I mean, ok.”
------
Kagome stared out the classroom window. She knew she ought to be paying attention, she was in school so rarely. But as much as she tried, no matter how much it hurt, she couldn't stop thinking about Inuyasha. She had left the Feudal Era yesterday, in tears at the horribly insensitive comments he had made about her and Kikyo. She indulged in a rare bitter moment.
`So what if I don't have as much control as Miss-Can-Do-No-Wrong-Kikyo?? I'm still so much better than I used to be! And we fight well together…well, when we're not fighting each other. Stupid Inuyasha! Control?!? He wants me to have more control? It'd serve him right if I showed him what me having NO control looks like!!!'
Kagome imagined sitting him til there was a ditch as large as the grand canyon. She imagined making him wait while she went home every night for a long luxurious bath. Suddenly, the image of Kikyo kissing Inuyasha came to her mind.
`No control?!!! If I had no control, I'd have stalked right up to that bitch, torn her nasty undead lips from Inuyasha and shown him…'
She couldn't help fantasizing showing Inuyasha what a real kiss would be like. Hot and fierce, passionate and full of the desire she always tried to pretend wasn't there. Her warm, alive body pressed hungrily against his. Her breath quickened as she thought of his body responding to her, his arms wrapping around her, crushing her against his hardness…
The bell rang loudly, jarring her out of her thoughts. She looked around guiltily, hoping the thoughts she'd just had weren't visible on her face. Her classmates were busy chatting and gathering their things. Quickly, Kagome wrote down the assignment up on the board before gathering her own things. She sighed.
`What's wrong with me today?
She couldn't wait until after school. She needed some WacDonald's fries and some serious girl time.
