Not By the Hair

 

 

They have seen and fought many a demon and ogre in their travels; those that ate souls, those that ate bones, there were some that ate flesh and others still that only drank blood. But never, NEVER, ever had they come across THIS type of demon.

 

Kagome had stood in stunned surprise still the same pose even after the creature had gone on its leisurely way after it “attacked” with Inuyasha by her side. No one was able to attack to defend themselves. No screams of pain were heard or uttered, no broken bones, no blood was spilt, no holes in any body parts, no one needed any bandaging. In fact; everyone had just let it attack and leave.

 

When it came waddling out from the bushes the size of a overgrown wild boar, it was covered in a thick deep dark rich shade of brown fur. It had large bright and beady eyes. It traveled close to the ground as its body was more of a flattened shape bespeaking of an aquatic type than the usual rounded form of a terrestrial being. Its front legs spaced wide apart and sharp claws digging deeply into the earth leaving behind long gouges as it moved. Its rear end had only a short stub for a tail reminiscent of a new born pup or cub or was it a bear's tail?

 

What shocked everyone else and surprised Kagome was its mouth/muzzle . . . They hadn't ever seen anything like it before but Kagome had. She seen it in the Tokyo Zoo many times so was familiar with it however seeing it on a demon was another matter.

 

The demon moved with fast jerky movements as it searched the area before locking its glaze onto the group and then it attacked. First to fall under the demon's attack was Shippou then it moved onto to Miroku with lightening speed. Clothes were shredded off bodies leaving bodies naked to the warm summer air. Sango was the next victim, Kirara was the smart one she had transformed and leapt into the air before the demon could get her, hissing venomously all the while. Then it got Inuyasha and Kagome before it in everyone's bemused minds left with a definite cocky gait.

 

No one moved, no one spoke, and no one could actually put a coherent thought together at the moment. A nice warm breeze picked up and caressed the naked skins and lifted butterflies into the air. Peace and tranquility reigned in the woods for over an hour after the attack until. . .

 

“What the FUCK was that!?!” roared Inuyasha.

 

“I'm sorry Inuyasha, I really don't know. We never even had knowledge of that type of demon in my village.”

 

“Does anyone know where are going to get new clothing?” asked a stunned Shippou.

 

“That was interesting. . . I'm only sorry I didn't get to enjoy it.” Grumbled Miroku.

 

“Shut the fuck up bouzo, before I pound ya!”

 

“Easy Inuyasha, easy.” Miroku held his hands up in a peaceful manner.

 

“A Platypus. . . it was a duck billed platypus. . .” Kagome finally spoke up very quietly.

 

“What's that again Kagome-chan?”

 

“A platypus, a mammal from the continent called Australia. It lives in water and lays eggs.”

 

“I take it that IT doesn't normally eat hair then. . .”

 

“No . . .”

 

“FEH!!”

 

“I guess that we'll just have to live with having no hair until it eventually grows back.”

 

“FEH!! I'm a demon! Mine will be back by night, same with the runt there.”

 

“That is all good for you Inuyasha but we are human and if you don't stop it I'll find the first priestess I can to get that rosary of yours changed so I can `sit' you too!!” Sango replied touching her weapon meaningfully before picking it up.

 

“Well. . . I guess the bright side to this is I don't have to shave my legs for a long time now. . .”

 

“Kirara!! Get your furry ass down here NOW!!!” yelled Inuyasha. “Since you are the only one who can go. . . Go to the nearest village and get us some clothing. Take the money from the monk and hurry it up will ya!!”

 

Kirara was only too eager to comply with Inuyasha's demands the sight of everyone naked and completely and totally hairless was something she wanted to erase from her mind and fast! As she vanished from everyone's sight she heard fading into the distance, “Ah FUCK!! It even took the fur off my ears!! That BASTARD!!”
