InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Not in Kansas Anymore ❯ Goodbye Cruel World! ( Chapter 2 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
Okay, so, I realized something.

This story has no point.

None.

I honestly can't think of anything significant that should happen. I mean, I'd love for her to meet Miroku - 'cause honestly, Miroku + modern day NYC girl would just be awesome. And I'd love to see any number of other situations play out.

But there are things that I refuse to do.

See, Eirin isn't anybody special. I don't want her to come in and fix all the problems. She has no more chance of killing Naraku than I do. Or you. (Unless you're a professional assassin, or Navy SEAL or something. Then she has considerably LESS.) So Eirin CAN'T fix that problem. Even the idea that she'd be able to is ridiculous.

More importantly, Sesshoumaru can't possibly fall in love with her. "Cause, NO . Absolutely not . The whole concept is out of character.

As for Eirin herself, I really don't want her to "grow" in any way. A lot of stories (though fewer fanfics) have the main character grow emotionally and mentally. But I quite like her the way she is, thank you very much. Running around demon country isn't going to add anything to her character except a jaded outlook on life, and perhaps a lot of fear and bitterness. None of which are admirable qualities.

So what else could possibly happen? She wanders around the Sengoku Jidai for a while, accomplishing nothing, changing nothing, introducing Rin and Sesshoumaru to the interesting outlook of 21st century US, perhaps shocking Miroku by saying something like "What? No way in hell will I have your babies! We could shag though, if Sango doesn't mind."? That's exactly the kind of pointless crap I hate.

So conclusion: I'm ending the story unfinished. If I do actually write something, and I feel it's worthy of posting, I'll put it up. But I'll probably stick to reading rather than writing.

Oh, and the other reason I've stopped writing?

I'm a lazy slacker.

ja ne, enjoy reading OTHER stories far better than mine - if you like Kagome/Miroku, read Sandra E (though upon reflection, she's only on Fanfiction.net and not MediaMiner).

Oh, and everybody in the world should read This Can't Be Good by Ithilwen. 'Cause it's unbelievably awesome and good.
