InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Nothing to Live For ❯ History ( Chapter 1 )
[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]
MS- As promised guys, I am rewriting Nothing To Live For.
The original sloppy version is available to laugh at in my profile (at Fanfic.net) if you want to read it... it's pretty horrible... first fanfic, i was blushing of embarassment when i was re-reading it today.
There will be some major changes! As for the song lyrics, it'll be reduced to a couple of lines. Only a couple. I really don't feel like writing a whole story with all songs... this is ahm... a drama...
I repeat, parts of the plot WILL change!
Summary- She was the heiress to the grand, enticing Kingdom of Miaoki. He was a ruthless Taiyoukai who masacres the Miaokians and the royal family. She who survived was left alone to pick up the broken pieces of her kingdom, until she meet them... S/K
Disclaimer- I do not own Inuyasha, the cast of Inuyasha belongs to Rumiko Takahashi, I only own the plot and original characters.... and I make no profit from writing these fanfictions! Disclaimer goes for all chapters!
/
But I do warn you, this is a rewrite so As A Courtesan and Beneath It All will be my first priorities!!

Chapter 1- War
Lightning crackled in the stormy night, normally at this time of night all inhabitants in the Miaoki Kingdom would be sound asleep, reassured by the rule of the loving royal family. But this night, this very dark night thunder boomed loudly over the kingdom, lightning illuminated the sky with its dangerous electric force. Golden hues of the dangerous flames spread quickly amongst the shelters that surrounded the grand palace. Bloodcurdling cries sounded throughout the kingdom as repulsive looking beasts slaughtered and raped the peaceful Miaokians.
The heiress looked helplessly out her window, the loyal soldiers of the kingdom fought bravely to fend off the endless hordes of demons.
"PLEASE ESCAPE, ROYAL FAMILY!" she can hear them screaming. They were as powerful as they were loyal. All inhabitants with Miaokian blood had power, raw power to purify the demons who dare threaten the peace of Japan. But this endless horde of disgusting demons was overpowering them with their large numbers, "Please leave heiress!" she can hear the cries of soldiers who longed for her survival. Why you may ask.
The golden flames that engulfed the shelters were caused by her. The endless slaughter of her loyal subjects were caused by her, the lives of infants were not spared because of her. All because she refused to marry the Taiyoukai. Why would a powerful Taiyoukai want to marry a holy maiden? It was simple, in ancient times before any kingdoms were established, a prophecy was told by witches with tremendous power.
The kingdom that borders all four lands will be ruled by humans with spiritual powers, each heir to the throne will be male. With each generation the youkai and demons of surrounding lands will grow restless and jealous of the prosperous land. There will be a night when the moon is no longer visible, a holy maiden will be born to the royal family. She, alone can keep the peace of Japan. She, alone can destroy the endless hordes of demons. She, will be the most powerful creature that ever breathed in the land of the rising sun.
Everyone anticipated the arrival of the holy maiden. Demons, youkai and humans alike searched for the holy maiden, hoping to obtain that power for themselves to be the supreme ruler of the land. Generations passed, the kingdom of Miaoki was established with a young human ruler and his wife. He, was the descendant of the holy Midoriko who died honorably in the Forbidden Battle. She was betrayed by her own mate, a Taiyoukai who wanted supreme conquest. He thought she was the holy maiden of which the prophecy speaks of. He faked his affections, his loves towards her. His loyalty to her was fake as well, his true loyalty was to himself. She soon bore him a son, a hanyou with tremendous powers. He wanted to train his son to be an assassin, to slaughter all that defies him. But Midoriko refused and tried to escape the Taiyoukai's clutches with her son, Miaoki.
The Taiyoukai wouldn't have it, Midoriko and himself engaged in a deadly battle. He fought to gain control of his son, and she fought to protect her beloved son from his father's treachery. The holy Midoriko died and honorable death and was able to wound the Taiyoukai, he had to hide for centuries to recuperate. When her story spread throughout the lands of Japan, all those who had an ounce of spiritual blood in their veins bounded together and gave her a grand funeral. The several hundred males and females bounded together and created a town in the middle of Japan, with the Chief Leader raising Midoriko's young son. The inhabitants of this town wanted to strengthen their spiritual powers and married each other to thicken their blood. The chief passed away, leaving Midoriko's son to be the next chief. He and his young human mate ruled the growing town with generosity and care. Each child his mate bore him was male, and soon a second part of the prophecy emerged, until the holy maiden is born the heirs to the kingdom will be male.
The small town flourished into a large city, many of the inhabitants has spiritual blood in their veins until their blood was too closely related. Under the discretion of the Chief Leader, the inhabitants married youkais or humans outside of their town. This soon became a tradition that everyone enjoyed. Miaoki expanded their town by going on expeditions and all under his care gave their utmost loyalty to him and his family. Miaoki's sons and their human mates ruled the next several generations of now the vast kingdom of Miaoki, which brings us back to the young human ruler and his pregnant mate.
Everyone expected a birth of a male heir, but to their surprise it was an infant girl. News traveled quickly and the vast kingdom rejoiced, the prophecy was beginning to unfold. The demons was getting rowdy outside the vast empire as the prophecy told, and the Miaokians encountered the jealous demons many many times. The celebration of the heiress lasted for days and the young King and his Queen couldn't be happier. As the young heiress grew up, she visited the citizens of Miaoki often, meeting them and listening to their complaints. There was not one Miaokian who didn't give their loyalty to the royal family, the heiress soon grew up to be a beautiful young warrior who mastered archery before her eighteenth birthday but her powers laid dormant.
The heiress had many suitors, in which she rejected all. She wasn't ready for a husband. One night a Taiyoukai emerged from the shadows of the outside world and demanded the heiress' hand in marriage. The King refrused, but the Taiyoukai didn't back down.
"Give me your daughter, or your kingdom will die" he threatened, but the King stood strong. The Taiyoukai disappeared without a trace for months until today, on the heiress' eighteenth birthday. The Taiyoukai who asked her hand in marriage brought these hideous hordes of demons, countless of disgusting bloodthirsty demons to slaughter her beloved kingdom.
The heiress clenched her hands into tight fists, "I will avenge you my friends, my loves. Your deaths will not be in vain," she pledged. Moments later her room door slammed open, "Kagome! We must leave!" It was her mother. Kagome shook her head, "I will defend the castle!"
Kagome's mother shook her head, "Kagome, your powers has yet to surface, we have to escape while we can!" The elder woman grabbed her daughter's wrist and dragged her down the hall.
"What about our people, mother?!" Kagome pulled her mother back to a halt. Her mother sighed and chided her, "If you don't leave now you'll never be able to avenge our kingdom! Our people who laid their lives for us, our people who want us to live." Kagome swallowed, she knew her mother was right. But she couldn't bear to leave her beloved kingdom. The young female nodded her head and resumed to rushing out of the palace. Kagome soon spotted her little brother and Father.
Kagome dashed over to her father and embraced him, "Father we must leave now!" The royal family hurried into he carriage guarded by dozens of loyal guards, some who were already heavily wounded. A dark laugh sounded through the courtyard, "Leaving so soon?"
Kagome recognized this voice, it was him. The Taiyoukai who wanted her to marry her. The Taiyoukai soon emerged from the sky and landed gracefully on his feet, "Why leave Ken, I have yet to mate with your daughter... now how about we set a date and you can keep what remains of your kingdom," he arrogantly replied.
The King laughed and spat in his direction, "Over my dead body! She'll never marry the likes of you!" The Taiyoukai with pitch black wavy hair growled. His tanned skin made him look even more wild, untamed. His feral snarl startled Kagome, she was fearing for her father's life.
"Very well," came the Taiyoukai's reply. Poison leaked from his fingertips and a whip formed, with a flick of his wrist he slashed Ken's chest. Kagome screamed in horror and attempted to rush her father. The guards attempted to pull her back, "Princess! You must stay back!" Kagome narrowed her eyebrows, "You will obey me! Protect my mother and brother" she commanded and the guards nodded their heads.
"Give me your bow and quiver," she said to one of her archers, he handed it to her. Kagome took a long glance at her mother and brother, "Take them to a safe village, hide until I call for you" she ordered her General. He shook his head, "Princess, we can't leave without you!" Kagome embraced her sobbing mother, "GO! The Miaoki blood must live on!" she nodded to her brother who was clutching his mother's leg. The General nodded, "please be safe Princess..."
The carriage took off, drawing the attention of the Taiyoukai who carelessly threw Ken Higurashi to the side. He let out a feral roar and dashed for the carriage. Kagome notched an arrow in her bow and shot it in his direction, "Taiyoukai, I am your challenger!" The Taiyoukai laughed, "you are not a challenge, however you will be my mate and submit to me!" he charged Kagome with his elongated claws.
Kagome notched another arrow and released it. The Taiyoukai cried out in pain as the arrow shot him at his thigh, "BITCH!" Kagome cried out in pain as he slashed his lethal claws across her chest, landing besides her father. Kagome crawled, "Father..." she shook him gently, no response. She placed a finger under his nose, no hint of breathing, he was gone. Kagome mourned at the loss of her father, "Awwww..." the Taiyoukai taunted.
Kagome's breath grew ragged, 'How dare he mock the loss of my father?!' Her aura crackled around her, pure, untrained, raw power. The Taiyoukai smirked, "you are definitely the one." With lightning speed he pinned Kagome to a tree, "You will submit to me!"
Kagome spat in his face, "NEVER!" she jabbed an arrow in his arm. The Taiyoukai cried out in pain, and squeezed her throat tighter.
"Just like Midoriko..." he laughed. Kagome froze, 'Midoriko? What is he talking about?' The Taiyoukai smirked, "You have her soul, my dear girl. Confused?"
"Who are you..." Kagome whispered with fear laced in each word. The dark haired Taiyoukai hauled Kagome across the courtyard, "I am... Naraku, Midoriko's mate."
Kagome swallowed hard, 'He did survive...'
"You'll never get me to submit!" she cried to him with determination. Naraku laughed, "Oh perhaps this will persuade you?" he howled a spine chilling howl, hordes of demon emerged from the shadows, "Milord, the kingdom lays in ruins now" it laughed. Naraku smirked, "Bring me her mother and brother..." The lower demon gulped, "The guards have escaped with the son... he is as good as dead, but we have her mother" he hauled Kagome's mother between Naraku and Kagome.
"Mother!" Kagome cried and cringed at the sharp jab at her knee. "Kagome! Don't listen to him, I'll be fine!" she reassured her scared daughter. Naraku laugh, "Submit or you shall see her death." Kagome's eyes dashed between her mother and the treacherous Taiyoukai.
"No, my daughter, it is my time!" her mother slit her own throat in front of Kagome's eyes. Kagome cried in shock, "MOTHER! NO!" Naraku laughed, "Well well now. Your kingdom lay in ruins, your father, mother and brother is dead... and you have nothing now, SUBMIT TO ME!" in a flash he stood in front of Kagome. He gripped her by her hair and hauled her up, "SUBMIT!"
Kagome spat in his face again, "NEVER!" Naraku's eyes bled crimson out of fustration. He pierced her neck with his claws and poison seeped inside her veins. Kagome cringed and cried in pain, "I'll... never submit..." she choked. Naraku growled, "Then I will force you!"
He threw her body on to the ground like a rag doll and pounced on her, "I WILL FORCE YOU!" he yelled and tore off the top of her kimono. Kagome screamed in terror, 'Somebody... help me... Kami-sama...'
The poison was burning her alive, Kagome choked for air as her lungs started to fail her. 'Mama... Papa...' her tears stung her eyes, she will die tonight. She will not be able to avenge her beloved kingdom. Kagome felt her heart beat slower with each passing second. Naraku laid above her, ravishing on her breasts. Tears slipped from the corner of her eyes, she was paralyzed. The poison progressed so far within her system, she couldn't do anything to stop Naraku, she will die tonight. The legacy of Midoriko and Miaoki will end the moment she dies...
She can't give up, her lungs spasmed and stilled moments later, 'NO!' she thought, 'I CAN'T DIE!' was her last thought before her body spasmed from the lack of oxygen, her heart stopped pumping fresh blood. Kagome shut her eyes, she felt the cold touch of death. Death caressed her lips, kissed her forehead and whispered in her ears,
'You have nothing to live for now...'
