Kyo: woopdedoo, another story from the Buyo-creature. -sighs-
Buyo: -whines-
Noriko: Anyway... Disclaimer - In no way do we own “Inuyasha”, Bankotsu, Jakotsu or any other people used in this fic. We simply... -coughs- borrowed them for this fanfic... and... well, you get the point.
Buyo: “And maybe one day, you’ll see, that you’re the only one for me...” Rated PG-13 for shounen ai, slight swearing (?) and other crap... and because the kiddies shouldn’t read this... -cackles- Romance/Drama (I’ll leave it up to you to decide whether its AU or not XD)

--------------------------------------------
Alone and lost, I reach out to you,
But no one saves me.
So I’m lost in my twisted nightmares,
Waiting for you.......
Waiting for the sun.....
The tables have turned and now I'm the one getting hurt. I watch you, uncomfortably, while you smile and laugh. Cut down my discomfort wings with your sword of everlasting pain. Watch me wail and fall into an abyss. Can't we overcome these problems? No matter what I do, I can not have you. For you belong to the sun and the stars at night.
--------------------------------------------
If I keep waiting for you, I’ll grow old and wither, Bankotsu-sama......
To say “I love you” would be an understatement... because I more than just love you. I LOVE you... or... wait... ack!
I don’t really know how to place it, or say it, or what to do, so I tell the trees, and the flowers and the corpses of the men I kill. They’re more understanding... they listen... they don’t judge. They never tell me off for liking men, or insult my choice in the man I love. They just... listen, and nod, and smile at me (or just stare at me with dead eyes).
Ever since I met you, I thought, “Hey, this is the kind of person I could spend the rest of my life with”. But deep down, I knew that it would only get as far as “friends”. Nothing more, possibly anything less. But this little hopeful flame burns deep within my heart, telling me that one day, you’ll sit down next to me and take my lips as yours.
But that’s a silly fantasy. A fairy tale ending. Something that will never happen in this life... ever. No matter how many times I wish for your love, I will never get it. Because you aren’t like me. We are two of a different feather... or however that blasted saying goes. Or was it “birds of a feather, fly together”? And I’ll never fly with you.
Yet every night, I find myself in a constant state of depression.....
So every night I cry fresh tears. And as they roll down my dirty face, I feel somewhat pure. As if my tears are cleansing me of all sin and wrong-doings, but is that really possible?
And as the days go by, I feel my hair becoming grey, as I wait for you to find me....
-----------------------------------
Jakotsu sat, alone, in a field of flowers. Not just a patch of flowers, or an area of flowers, but a stretch of flowers. They seemed to bloom for miles upon miles as if they never ended.
He picked up a flower and idly pulled off its petals, humming sadly to himself as he did it. One by one, the petals floated toward the ground and landed softly on top of another flower.
His humming turned to a melancholy singing. His voice wavered and was out of tune, as if he had just opened his mouth and sung after fifteen years of silence.
The sad boy sat underneath a large, green tree, who’s branches shaded him protectively. His back was against it, and another figure stood nearby, watching silently.
“I want to be with you longer, I want to stay with you longer, but the fragile tears lurking beneath my smile, I can hide them no longer.” Jakotsu sang, as his voice started quivering. The figure moved and silently padded towards him.
Jakotsu did not look up, as he felt the presence of someone behind him. A young, braided man plopped down next to him, squashing some flowers. Jakotsu wiped his eye before smiling at his comrade. “How did you find me?”The older man asked.
Bankotsu thought for a bit, his gaze never left the other man. “You come home smelling like these flowers. It’s a beautiful fragrance, but it’s strong and I could easily sniff it out.”
Jakotsu laughed a bit, the feelings of sadness washing away as he was now with the man that he loved. “You aren’t a dog, Bankotsu-sama!”
Bankotsu shrugged. “You’ve been crying, haven’t you?” He stared Jakotsu straight in the eyes; his red, puffy eyes. Jakotsu shook his head vigorously, shaking his gaze from Bankotsu’s in the process. The young leader cupped Jakotsu’s chin in his hand, stopping him enough to stare at him intently.
‘I want my fairy tale ending...’ Jakotsu thought hopefully, biting on his lip nervously.
“Why are you lying? What’s been bugging you?” The leader asked. Jakotsu tried to shake his head again, but the grip stopped him from doing so.
“Nothing! It’s nothing!” He lied, yet again. If this were anyone but Bankotsu, he would have taken their arm and twisted it the other way around, being a sadist at heart. Yet this was Bankotsu, the ‘God-on-Earth’.
But the thing he never expected, was what happened next.
The leader of the Shichinin-Tai leaned forward and brushed his lips against Jakotsu’s. The older man felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand up and a wave of pleasure come over him. And then he broke down. The dam walls exploded and the flood ensued. Jakotsu pressed his face into Bankotsu’s chest and cried.
For a while, he cried. Bankotsu, not knowing what to do, wrapped his arms around the other’s shoulders and rubbed his back soothingly. When the tears turned to sobs, Jakotsu managed out something. “I never thought my fairy tale would come true...” He choked.
Bankotsu smiled; a thing that rarely occured. “Well it did...” He said, kissing Jakotsu once more. Jakotsu wrapped his arms around the others neck and sighed, once he pulled back. For once, it wasn’t a sigh of anguish or frustration, but one of pure bliss and happiness.
----
It was so soon and sudden, that he left me confused. But later on, I got an explanation.
As it turns out, Bankotsu loved me from the start. That was my case as well....
So we truly were and are birds of a feather...
----
Bankotsu rested his chin on Jakotsu’s shoulder. “And we lived happily ever after... right?” He whispered. Jakotsu nodded and smiled.
“For all our days to come....” Jakotsu kissed Bankotsu once on the lips, before pulling him through the forest. “The others will be waiting for us... I don’t think it’s safe to keep them without guidance.” He laughed, poking Bankotsu’s nose, who in turn, smirked.
“They aren’t that stupid!” He laughed, following his lover.
And they did live happily ever after....
For all their days to come.....
