Hi everyone! ^.^ Rane here! This is my first Inuyasha fanfic, so please be nice! I don't own any of the characters, which is a shame, because I wouldn't mind owning Sesshomaru~ ^.-

Funny thing about this fanfic, when I first started thinking about it, I wanted it to be a oneshot, just a really long one, but as I started writing it I realized that it wouldn't do the storyline justice if I did it that way. I'm going to try to get the next chapter up by next week, but I'm in college and I have SOOOOO much to do it's not funny, so it might have to wait until my spring break for me to really get a good hold on it.

He, Lord Sesshomaru, had finally broken down and claimed Inuyasha's wench as his mate. He knew why he had done it, but it didn't sit well with him. He was Lord of the Western Lands, a feared Taiyoukai, and he had marked a human miko as his mate. He hadn't had a choice, true he had been lusting after the Miko for some time, but he hadn't thought that she would stumble upon him when he was weak and vulnerable.

Sesshomaru had been in a fight with another Taiyoukai, who had happened to possess the few remaining jewel shards. Unfortunately he had tried to save Rin and Jaken from the attack and ended up being struck down himself. That was when the Miko found them, she had looked just as bad as he felt, none the less, she leapt to the challenge, throwing up a barrier around the small group.

Sesshomaru knew that she wouldn't last long, what with the other youkai pounding away at her barrier. He couldn't allow the youkai to live, and he knew what he had to do to get the strength to kill him. He could see Jaken watching him with wide eyes as he approached the weakening Miko.

“L-Lord Sesshomaru!”

“Quiet Jaken.” Sesshomaru didn't even look at the toad as he stalked the Miko, his youkai rising within him, urging him to claim the Miko as his. Her scent covered him and he inhaled deeply, her scent was so pure, honey and vanilla. He shuddered as he got closer, his eyes starting to bleed red, he had to claim her now if he was to save them all.

Kagome felt Sesshomaru getting closer, moving as though he were stalking prey, instead of approaching a friend. She closed her eyes, her Miko powers detecting no threat, so she relaxed, allowing Sesshomaru to move closer to her.

The first thing she registered was Sesshomaru's body heat, only an instant before pain bloomed in her neck. Instinctively, Kagome latched onto his neck as well, completing the marking ceremony. She opened her eyes to look deep into his red tinted golden eyes moments before passing out.

Sesshomaru felt a tingling sensation in his missing arm as he was biting into Kagome's neck, only to notice that his arm had instantly re-grew. He was surprised by the Mikos powers, he lowered her gently to the ground and quickly turned to the attacking youkai, no stronger than before because he now had Kagomes power mixing with his own.

He took down the offending youkai with on swipe, and having the sense to see the jewel shards, removed them quickly, not wanting the youkai to regenerate. He then turned to Kagome, who was still unconscious, he knelt to pick her up and turned to look at Jaken and Rin.

“Are you harmed?” His eyes roamed over both of them, taking in the scents from the air, finding only Kagome's blood.

“No my Lord!” Rin beamed up at him, quickly moving back to his side. “Is Kagome-san okay Sesshomaru-sama?”

“She is fine.” He gently ruffled the girls hair. “Jaken.” His eyes narrowed on his retainer.

“Y-Yes Lord Sesshomaru?” Jaken slowly stepped forward.

“Take Rin back to the palace with Ah-Un. I will follow you soon.”

Nodding once, not wanting to argue with his Lord, he quickly helped Rin onto Ah-Un and started out.

Kagome slowly opened her eyes, quickly trying to figure out where she was. And all too soon she remembered, Sesshomaru had marked her as his mate. Of course she knew what he had done, having been around Inuyasha and Sango for so long. The thing that disturbed her the most was that she had responded and marked him as well.

“Oh God!” She groaned as she sat up and found Sesshomaru looming over her. She instantly blushed, to which he raised an eyebrow.

“You're awake.” He looked down at her disheveled form and felt an instant pull of lust, frowning at his lack of self control, he quickly sat down to avoid being found out, seeing as though his pants were starting to tent.

“Why?” Her voice shook as she watched him, an odd warmth flowing into her body. Rubbing her arm against the feeling her eyes were drawn to her hand, which now had claws.

Sesshomaru chose not to answer as she examined herself. He knew that once he had marked her she would change, only humans with powerful spiritual energy were able to change into youkai when they were marked, if they were marked at all. Usually Mikos and youkais avoided each other, but there were rare instances, like this one, where a youkai would mate with a miko. That was the reason why Inuyasha's mother had stayed human after his father had marked her, she didn't have the kind of spiritual energy needed to make the change.

“What happened?” Kagome looked at Sesshomaru with fear written clearly across her face.

“I marked you as my mate, and because you have powerful spiritual energy, you were transformed into a youkai, though I believe you have also retained your miko powers.” He watched the different emotions running across her face. She was beautiful as a youkai; his crescent moon marking had appeared on her forehead, and the same markings that were on his cheeks and wrists were also present on her. He couldn't help but wonder if his more…private… markings had also appeared on her body. He shook his head, he shouldn't think of her like that.

Kagome's thoughts were coming too fast, She was now a youkai? She felt her new youkai power as well as her miko powers, which was a relief, but she also felt a different power, one she instantly recognized as Sesshomaru's. This surprised her, she knew he was powerful, but feeling it like this was something completely different and somehow pleasing. She had a whole new awareness of him, she could now sense his emotions, but couldn't make out what they were. This also, was a surprise, the Taiyoukai was not nearly as stoic as he make it appear.

“Wow.” She smiled apprehensively over at him. “So I guess this means we're stuck together now.”

“Yes. Inu Youkai mate for life, I would not be able to pup another female and you cannot carry the pups of another male, our lives are also tied together now as well.” He couldn't help but smile slightly at the thought of her carrying his pups.

Kagome smiled as well, they were tied together, something she didn't mind in the least. Inuyasha had chosen to go to hell with Kikyo now that Naraku had been defeated. That left her Sango, Miroku, and Shippo, to look for the last few jewel shards. Sango, Miroku, and Shippo had gone off to get the jewel shards from Koga while Kagome had gone home, none of them wanting her near Koga now that Inuyasha was gone, but she had been attacked by a youkai while on her way to the well. She had quickly run out of arrows, and had to run for it, which was how she ran into Sesshomaru, Jaken and Rin, and how she had ended up in her current position.

Thinking of her friends made her freeze, how were they going to take the news of her being the mate of Sesshomaru. They were supposed to be enemies after all right? She sighed, she knew that they wouldn't like the idea very well, but they had all worked together to get rid of Naraku right? Shaking her head, Kagome looked back and Sesshomaru and couldn't help but smile; she had always thought that he was very good looking, and secretly she did prefer him to Inuyasha.

Sesshomaru noticed her watching him, and the smile that lit her face. He wanted to ask her what she was thinking, what had made her respond like this. He knew that this probably wasn't something that she had wanted, he had tried to kill her many different times in the past, but he had shown that he was also a loyal person hadn't he? He had fought with her little band in the end to help take out Naraku, granted it had been Kagome who had taken the demon out. He would never forget that, she had been amazing. He smirked at the thought. Then he remembered the jewel shards he held.

“Here Kagome.” He handed them over to her. “I believe these belong to you.”

Kagome reached out and took the jewel shards, instantly purifying them. “Thank you.” She reached into her shirt to pull out the jewel, gently cupping it in her hands she fused the pieces with the shard. Now all the only pieces that were missing were Koga's.

Sesshomaru stood, holding out his hand to help her up as well. “We should go find your companions, they are probably worrying about you.”

Kagome was shocked, how had he known that they should be back by now? And why would he care? She was confused, but took his hand away.

Sesshomaru could feel her confusion and couldn't help but smirk. She thought him heartless after all, deciding to surprise his new mate he pulled her to him, wrapping his newly grown arm around her waist to hold her there, while the other hand delved into her hair. He felt her stiffen and his smirk widened because he had also caught the scent of her arousal.

Kagome gasped quietly at his sudden action and blushed heavily at being held so close to him. She couldn't help but enjoy the way her small and soft body molded to his tall and hard frame, it made her shiver slightly, which only made him pull her closer. She looked up at him, a blush still staining her cheeks. Sesshomaru really was a very good looking man, youkia, whatever, her thoughts were scattered by his closeness.

Sesshomaru was not unaffected by her closeness, yes he admitted to having lusted after her while she was human, but now that she was a full youkai he couldn't help but be more drawn to her. His eyes zeroed in on her lips and he suddenly felt the urge to taste them, an urge that he didn't even try to fight.

Kagome seemed to instantly melt at the touch of his lips, they were a lot softer then they looked, something she was pleased to find out. And his taste! Who knew that someone could taste so good, just like a summer rain, and now that she thought about it, his scent was like that too, like rain on a warm summer day. She gasped when she felt his tongue glide along her lower lip, begging for entry, which she had allowed him by gasping.

Sesshomaru took full advantage of her gasp, quickly sliding his tongue into her mouth and marveling at her taste. He felt that he could drink from her forever and never be hungry again, a thought that made him smile. He pulled her flush against him and felt her stiffen at feeling his hardness pressed right against her stomach, this too made him smile, his pure innocent little Miko didn't know how to react to the raging desire in him, but she was responding wonderfully.

Kagome wrapped her arms around his neck, feeling his hardness pressing ever more instantly against her stomach. She knew what a naked man looked like, she wasn't that naïve, but it was still embarrassing, she was still a virgin after all. Despite this she couldn't seem to stop her reaction to him, it was as though he had started a fire in her and she didn't want it to go out.

Sesshomaru felt her starting to respond more than before and had to pull back, he did not want to take her here, not this first time. Though once they were properly mated he wouldn't hesitate to take her whenever the mood stuck him, damn the place; however, he knew that she was a virgin, her scent was dripping with it, and he did not want to hurt her and then have her tamping all over the place. Their first time would come when he took her to his home, in their bed, again he smirked, he couldn't wait to show her what wonders could be found in bed.

Kagome was breathing heavily when he pulled away from her, and at first she thought that she had done something wrong and she was going to ask, but she saw that he too was breathing heavily. She couldn't hide her smile, so he was as effected by her as she was by him, that was a good thing. And now that she thought about it, she was glad that he stopped their make out session. It would have been highly embarrassing to have him try to have sex with her right now, she hadn't shaved in a few days (thank god she was wearing pants!) and she didn't want him to think that she didn't take care of herself.

“I believe we need to find your friends, Kagome.” He smirked when she shivered as he said her name, that was a pleasing response.

Rane: THAT'S IT FOR CHAPTER ONE FOLKS!

Sess: WHAT?! You mean that's it?! What the hell?

Rane: *sweat drop* Heh, sorry, but I have to work on a paper that's due next week. I promise to work on this over the weekend though. I'll add in another make out scene if that will make you happy fluffy.

Sess: *twitch* Do NOT call this Sesshomaru fluffy… I suppose I can allow you some time for your school work, as long as you promise to work on this after all that is done.

Rane: SIR YES SIR!

Kagome: Don't listen to him Rane, he's just an angry puppy, he'll get over it.

Sesshomaru: What did you just call this Sesshomaru? *death glare*

Kagome: *smiles sweetly* PUPPY.

Rane: heheh… ANYWAY! Like I said… That's all folks *watches sesshomaru chase after kagome* I might want to go break those two up before something… bad… happens…. SEE YA SOON!
