The priestess looked down, praying for release on the other side.
“I do not belong here. This is the only way. I have to do this.” Slowly, the priestess stepped even closer to the edge.

*Please come now I think I'm falling
I'm holding to all I think is safe*

“I can't be with him and I can't compete with her. I must do this.”

*It seems I found the road to nowhere
And I'm trying to escape*

She looked up, the rain pouring down at her. Lighting shot across the sky as she prepared to jump.

*
I yelled back when I heard thunder
But I'm down to one last breath*
As the thunder crashed she cried out, “I'm sorry, Inuyasha!”

*And with it let me say
Let me say*
She had begun to lose her nerve as the tears on her face mixed with raindrops. “No, I can't back down now. Not as long as he's with her.”
*Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking
That maybe six feet
Ain't so far down*

Slowly, she took a deep breath and fell off the edge, plummeting into the canyon below.

*I'm looking down now that it's over
Reflecting on all of my mistakes*

Tears still rolled down her face as she fell, she could only think of Inuyasha, the one she'd left behind.

*I thought I found the road to somewhere
Somewhere in His grace*

“Why am I doing this? Just because of her? I made a mistake. Please, Inuyasha, I don't want to die!”

*I cried out heaven save me
But I'm down to one last breath
And with it let me say
Let me say*

She came closer and closer to impact, only thinking of Inuyasha now. She had made a mistake. She didn't truly want to die. But, now, it was too late. She had made her choice.

*Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking
That maybe six feet
Ain't so far down*

“Inuyasha! I'm sorry. Please forgive me! Save me! I don't want to die! Not without you!” In her mind, she saw his face, saw him crying for her, all because she had made a foolish mistake.

*Sad eyes follow me
But I still believe there's something left for me
So please come stay with me*

“Inuyasha!” she cried again, knowing she'd never be heard. Her tears stung her face and she made contact with the hard, cold ground.

*'Cause I still believe there's something left for you and me
For you and me
For you and me*

Kagome stopped, her foot almost hanging off the edge. She couldn't do it. She couldn't hurt Inuyasha like this. “Kagome! Don't do it!” She turned and saw Inuyasha racing towards her. She turned and raced towards him, hugging him tightly. “I'm sorry, Inuyasha! I'm so sorry. Everything I said, everything I did.” Inuyasha ran his hands through her hair. “Shh. It's okay, Kagome. You're safe now.”
*Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking*
