InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Onigumo's Heart ❯ So it begins... ( Chapter 1 )

(I don't own any of this title, its characters, or the plot. I only borrow them so I can make an interesting story off them. Also, the stupid site won't load this story correctly. Therefore, until it's fixed you'll have to endure this insufferable squishing together.)
Naraku was sick of his filthy human heart. He had tried so many ways to separate himself from his feelings for the human Miko Kikyo, even to the point of FINALLY killing Kikyo off, but the bandit's lusts for Kikyo, and even Kagome, remained. "Darn that bastard Onigumo!" Naraku wasn't one for showing his emotions (yeah right), but he couldn't resist smashing a few lesser pieces of his body in fury.
Naraku "pulled himself together" and settled himself on the tanami mat in his ever-moving castle. (Yes, I know he'd discarded it at this point, but a cave just doesn't have the same appeal.) The REAL object of Naraku's fury was displayed in Kanna's mirror. Kagome, the resurrected Kikyo, and a thorn in Naraku's side was riding on the hated hanyou, InuYasha. "Why! Why is that even with Kikyo dead this heart beats for HER?" The picture changed as he said this to show Kagome aiming her bow and letting go an arrow. "Kukuku, I had planned to kill her anyway. Maybe I've been focusing too much on the hanyou and his youkai brother..." The picture changed again to show Kagome being blown back by an explosion, her skirt flying... Naraku scowled as "his" heart skipped a beat. "I think it's time to finish this foolishness, and finally quiet Onigumo's idiot heart!" With an impatient wave of his hand, the images disappeared.

Kagome sneezed three times and rubbed her nose. "What's the matter Kagome?" Sango asked. "You'd better not be catching a cold! Peh." InuYasha said with a glance that belied his words. "Oh... InuYasha!" Fumed Kagome before turning towards Sango and shunning him. "Nothing's the matter, someone must be talking about me.”
"Hopefully, it's nothing bad. Idiot InuYasha." Chimed in Shippo right before InuYasha knocked him on the head with a hard blow. "It's probably nothing." Kagome said as Shippo rubbed his head with an angry glance at InuYasha and tears popping up in his eyes. "It's getting dark, we should probably stop in that village." Miroku commented, almost, but not totally, hiding a small chuckle at InuYasha and Shippo's familiar antics. "Good idea Miroku!" Kagome exclaimed, "We'll leave our lodging up to you!"
After Miroku had "driven out a spirit" at the largest house in the village, and they had a meal, the small group settled down in the spacious guest room that their grateful host offered them. "I feel so guilty..." Sango said with a glance at their resident "con man."
"What?" Miroku said innocently, "There actually WAS a spirit!"
"Really? I didn't see one." Kagome said, not so innocently. Miroku acted offended and did a purification spell on the wall. A youkai spirit fled quickly with a squeak. "What do you know!" Shippo said surprised, "There actually WAS one this time!" Miroku huffed as the others just nodded. "Then... What was that show earlier?" Sango asked. Miroku just smiled and rolled over on his mat.
InuYasha had watch. For some reason, he was edgy and tense. He could sense that something wasn't right. (Not that he would ever tell any of the others about "sensing" it) He sat with his back to the sleeping group, tense and ready for any sign of danger.

Naraku was nearby, but because InuYasha's nose was strong and Kagome could sense the Shikon stone, he wasn't able to get that close. Since Kagura was no longer around, he sent Kanna to "pick up" Kagome, but Onigumo's heart was making it difficult to keep away. (And, he just takes a sadistic pleasure in watching InuYasha get hurt) Naraku's plan was simple, and had worked many times: distract the idiot hanyou, the perverted monk, and the youkai slayer. Then, while they're distracted, accomplish his REAL plan. The problem was in the distraction. It was relatively easy; he hired a youkai called "Tanji" (Fictitious name) with the promise of a Shikon Shard if he could kill InuYasha. Of course, the youkai would die, but he was just a distraction, so, it didn't matter.

Miroku was roused from his doze by an explosion outside the village. InuYasha was already on his feet and Sango had already grabbed her Hiraikotsu. InuYasha stopped a running villager. "What's going on?"
"A large youkai is attacking our food supplies!" The villager ran off just as the elder of the village (for that was who they were staying with) ran in. "Please Lord Monk! Save us from this youkai!" He begged as he bowed down before Miroku. "Fear not! We will stop this evil monster." The "Lord Monk" replied dramatically. Sango rolled her eyes as she and Miroku jumped onto Kirara. InuYasha shouted back at Kagome and Shippo as he bounded off: "Stay here! Shippo, you protect Kagome!" Kagome and Shippo watched them race away as the elder of the house, looking worried, gazed on until the others were out of sight. His face then slipped into a slack-jawed look, but because Kagome and Shippo were distracted, neither of them noticed.
Kanna was already in the house. Since she let off no aura, either evil or good, no one had felt her coming and her scent was disguised by her mirror. (I just made that up, I don't KNOW if Kanna's mirror guards her scent, but just go with me) She had already captured the soul of the elder and it was she that used him to send off the others in the group. Now all that remained was getting rid of the fox-youkai and capturing Kagome. Thankfully, that is easy to do when you can capture any number of souls and use the soul to control the soul's body. The first sign of trouble was when Shippo was clubbed over the head by the elder's stick and Kagome barely had time to be surprised before she was knocked out too.
The others came back after a short battle with the inept Tanji. InuYasha had been able to smell Naraku on him and with a little "persuasion" the youkai had told of Naraku hiring him to "kill off a hanyou named 'InuYasha.'" It wasn't the first time the group had been tricked into fighting while something went on behind the scenes, so InuYasha immediately thought of Kagome and rushed to her aid, but was too late. They found Shippo lying on the ground surrounded by the people of the castle, all stunned, and no Kagome.
(Okay, I got Kagome captured, but where to go from here? This is my first story and I'm not quite sure where it will end out. Will there be lemons? Probably not. What WILL Naraku do to Kagome? Well... You'll have to wait and see.)
