Chapter One: Kagome's Secret Wish
Kagome Higurashi sat at her desk staring at her Math book. But not actually seeing any of the problems really. She scrubbed at her eyes, which seemed to be closing without her consent. `Oh, what's the point? I can't think straight. Living this double life certainly isn't doing me any good!' she thought angrily.
And whose fault was it that she had to lead a double life? Inu-Yasha! It was his fault! If he hadn't tried to steal the Shikon-no-Tama jewel all those years ago none of what happened would have! She wouldn't have somehow gotten the sacred jewel in her body and wouldn't have accidentally shattered it if he hadn't tried to steal it fifty years ago!
But the past was the past. And there was nothing she could do to change it, even if she tried. `Only thing is I'm the reincarnated priestess that he loved or does he still love her? After all she is back, although I have a sneaking suspicion that she really doesn't like him. Considering the fact she won't stop trying to kill him!' Kagome leaned back in her chair.
`Did I also forget to mention that I'm in love with Inu-Yasha to? The only person that knows that is Sango!' she shook her head in complete frustration. Inu-Yasha gave her enough grief when he was around. She really didn't need him to give it to her when he was 500 years away!
But she couldn't stop thinking about him. The only reason he was helping was because he wanted the jewel shards for himself. Inu-Yasha was only a half-demon, which meant he was part human. But if he got the Shikon-no-Tama he could become a whole demon.
Only problem, Kagome is the protector of the sacred Shikon-no-Tama. She stood up from her chair and walked over to her bed. She laid down on it with a sigh. It would take forever to find all the shards of the jewel. As Kaede said there could be a hundred pieces or a thousand, nobody knows.
Kagome closed her eyes. And instantly a picture of Inu-Yasha came into her mind. His dog-ears were on top of his head and his usual smirk was in place. He always argued with her, just because she reminded him of Kikyo.
“But, I'm NOT Kikyo!” Kagome said to herself. Kagome rubbed her temples: all of this was giving her a horrible migraine. Most girls her age were not worrying about a half-dog demon that live in the Feudal Age of Japan!
“Kagome! Your clothes are dry and ready to be packed!” her mother called. Kagome groaned. Just what she needed. Another reminder that she was going back there tomorrow!
Sighing she clambered off her bed and walked down stairs to get her clothes. When she got back into her room she stuffed them into her already overstuffed book bag.
`Now. I've got to study for that Math quiz. And stop thinking about Inu-Yasha!' she ordered herself as she sat back down at her desk. Once again she stared at the problems without really seeing them. `Good grief! I give up! I mean I won't be at school for the test anyway so what's the point of studying for a test I won't even take? I think I'll go outside. The stars are always pretty at this time of night.' She thought, finally closing the dreadful Math book.
She pulled on her coat and went outside into the cool spring night air. She looked up at the stairs in delight. `Beautiful as always! Actually I believe that they're prettier in the past. Back in the feudal age there's no factories or air pollution!' she thought smiling up at the blinking stars. She looked up at the moon to see that it was showing a little after the New Moon.
`Well, guess I missed Inu-Yasha transforming into his human self. Thank goodness. He's always so grouchy during that time of the month. OH! A shooting star! Better make a wish. Let's see. To have Inu-Yasha like me a little bit more than he already does! Or at least enough to stop calling me `Wench!' I hate that name!' Kagome smiled to herself.
Shaking her head she passed the sacred tree on her way inside. She stopped to look at it. `That's where Kikyo pinned Inu-Yasha. Where I first saw him. I remember I thought he was asleep.'
*FLASHBACK*
Kagome walked through the lush thick green forest. `It's as though the family shrine was never here!' she thought in surprise. Then she spotted a familiar treetop. `The sacred tree! That means I'm practically home!'
She pushed through the thick bushes but stopped as she spotted the tree. What looked like to be a boy was pinned to the tree. He was wearing a red kimono and had silver hair. And what looked like to be dog-ears were on top of his head.
“Hey there. What you doing?” she asked jumping onto the roots that held him to the tree. `Wow. Like dog-ears. I think I wanna touch them.' She placed her hands on the dog-ears. They wiggled as she petted them. `Now that that's outta my system.'
*END*
`Of course when the jewel appeared Inu-Yasha tried to take it. Again. But Kaede put a rosary around his neck and I can restrain him with the simple word `sit' and all movement for his part is forgotten.' Kagome couldn't hold back her smile. She couldn't ever let Inu-Yasha know, but she thought it was funny how he always crashed to the ground because of that simple word.
Kagome went inside and kissed her mom and grandpa goodnight. She went up and into Sota's room. She tucked his covers in once more.
“Kagome? Be careful back there.” Sota ordered. Kagome smiled down at her little brother.
“I promise to be extra careful, Sota. Night!” she walked out of his room and into her own. She pulled on her pajamas and climbed into her warm bed. Soon she fell asleep. But if someone had been looking at the star they would have noticed it was glowing brighter than all the other stars, maybe it was trying to grant Kagome's secret wish.
Chapter Two: The Beginning
Inu-Yasha stared at the dry well. Trying to will Kagome out apparently. His ears wiggled. `She's coming. Stupid Wench. Why does she have to go back to that world of hers anyway? It doesn't seem that great to me.' Inu-Yasha snorted.
Her scent became stronger and he watched as she struggled out of the well. As always she had on an overstuffed bag. And he could smell ramen. That made him hungry, even if he had ate a mere hour before.
`I really do hate it when she does that.' he thought jumping out of the tree. “So, you finally decide to show up did you, Wench?” he asked. She gasped as Inu-Yasha jumped in front of her.
“Inu-Yasha! Yes I showed up!” she glared at him. Why did he have to be so stubborn?
“Oh, I hadn't noticed.” he said sarcastically. She glared at him. It didn't do much good.
“I always show up and you know it!” she cried. He was blaming her for never showing up? She always showed up, no matter what! Heck, she could be safely in school, and where was she right now? Unsafely in the feudal age of Japan!
“Feh.” was the only reply she got. Sighing she pulled her bicycle out from behind the bushes. She heard Inu-Yasha snort. She looked up from where she was strapping on her large bag.
“What is it now, Inu-Yasha?” she asked. He stared at her for a moment, then looked away.
“If you weren't so strange you wouldn't need a, uh….. bicycle(said like becycle.) to keep up with us.” he said, crossing his arms.
`WHA?!' a funny look crossed Kagome's face. Her mouth hung slightly open and her eyes were wide with anger.
“Sit, boy.” she said. CRASH! She climbed onto her bicycle and peddled pass where Inu-Yasha was laying and trying to get up. “Seriously, Inu-Yasha. You need to learn to control your mouth!” she called over her shoulder.
`Humph. To think of all the nerve! He's an arrogant, selfish, stubborn, misogynist, violent, angry, stupid, narrow minded, dog-breathed JERK! Six months. We've been searching for Shikon-no-Tama jewel shards for six months and he still can't control his mouth!' she fumed to herself as she peddled for the village.
She smiled as she saw some of the villagers' children playing in one of the fields. She heard their voices calling. “LADY KAGOME! LADY KAGOME!” they chanted.
She laughed as she stopped in front of Old Kaede's hut. The little kids were all smiling and chanting her name in excited voices. She dragged her bag into the wooden hut.
“Why, hello, Kagome!” Sango called from beside the fire. Kagome noticed that Miroku was steadily getting closer to Sango. Kagome opened her mouth to warn her friend. BONK!
“Yeow!” Miroku yelped as Sango's boomerang got to know his head. Kagome winced as she closed her mouth. `That's gotta hurt.' she thought shaking her head.
“Hello, Kagome. How have ye been?” Kaede asked. She was sitting at the small wooden table in one of the corners of the hut. She was grinding some herbs.
“Pretty good. I got that English paper in on time, for once!” she laughed, sitting down beside the old woman. “Where's Shippo?” she looked around as she didn't see the little fox youkai anywhere.
“He's made some friends in the village.” Sango smiled then shook her head as Kagome blinked several times. The villagers had never actually paid any attention to Shippo.
“Yes, he's made friends and most of them are girls I might add.” Miroku said. Once again he yelped in pain as Sango conked him on the head.
`It's amazing that he doesn't have a concussion!' Kagome thought. She held in a laugh as she noticed two large bumps raising on Miroku's head.
“So what? He can have friends that are girls and nothing more!” Sango growled. `Man, she's able to hide her love a whole lot better than I ever could!' Kagome thought in wonder.
“I was just saying that he was quite the lady's man!” that time Miroku dodged and left the hut before Sango could retaliate.
“Oooooh! When will he learn?” Sango asked in exasperation. Kagome shook her head, she seriously doubted he would ever learn. He probably took stubborn lessons from Inu-Yasha.
“Kagome! You're back!” a furry orange ball fell into her lap and proceeded to squeeze the air out of her.
“Hello, Sh---ip---po!” she gasped out. The kitsune relieved his grip a little, or at least enough to let Kagome breath. Kagome laughed.
“Yes, I'm back, Shippo. After all we have a jewel to put back together.” Kagome said trying to stop her giggles as the little kitsune told he about all the friends he'd made while she was away. “So, did you guys get any rumors of the Shikon jewel?” she asked.
“Yes. We did. There's a rumor going around that in a kingdom, yes a kingdom not a village, there's a nobleman going around marrying young woman, and the next morning they've disappeared.” Sango explained. Kagome gasped.
“That's horrible! That man might be stealing the souls of those young girls! And he might have a jewel shard.” Kagome cried in outrage. Sango nodded in agreement.
“That's exactly what I thought. If we go to this kingdom we're going to have to be extra careful.” Sango said turning back around to tend to the fire.
“Aye. This nobleman, this Watnabe, he sounds like a formidable foe. If he's a human man stealing souls he must have some demon heritage. Ye need to be very careful against an enemy like that.” Kaede said from the table.
“I don't like the sound of that.” Shippo said from Kagome's lap. Kagome nodded her agreement. `I REALLY don't like the sound of that.' she thought as she put Shippo down and went over to help Sango.
“How far away is the kingdom?” Kagome asked as she got some carrots for the stew and began cutting them.
“A week's journey at the least.” Sango said, smiling at her friend. They watched as Old Kaede got up and went out to heal some of the villagers that had a cold.
“Sooooooo. Did you run into Inu-Yasha?” Sango asked her smile turning into an evil grin.
“Hmph. Yes, actually I did. And he's still an egotistical jerk. He'll never change.” Kagome said closing her eyes and turning her head away. “OW!” she cried as the knife cut her finger.
“Yeah. Don't look away when using a knife.” Sango said as Kagome rummaged through her bag. She pulled out a box of bandages. She proceeded to clean her finger and put a bandage on it.
“Grrrr. Even when he isn't around he seems to give me grief!” she muttered to herself. Sango laughed, even though she wasn't suppose to hear.
“Apparently we got stuck with two men that are more stubborn than the roots in the earth!” Sango said trying to soften up where she'd been laughing at her friend a few moments before.
“You know what? I believe you couldn't be more right than you are right now.” Shippo looked outraged.
“Hey! What am I? Cooked liver?” he asked. Kagome smiled at the little kitsune.
“I'm sorry, Shippo. You're not a man. You're a much nicer youkai!” Kagome assured the trickster. Shippo smiled at the unexpected praise.
Inu-Yasha walked in right at that moment, with Miroku not far behind. He took one look at Kagome then snorted.
“I thought I smelled you.” he said, hiding the relief in his voice. `Good, she's alright. I couldn't stand it if she got hurt!' he thought to himself, sitting down beside the table.
He watched with an interested eye as Miroku deliberately sat down beside Sango. Inu-Yasha winced as Miroku got hit over the hit. If he ever tried that on Kagome he'd get `sit' so many times he wouldn't be able to keep count.
“What time are we going to try and leave to see about this rumor?” Kagome asked. `So Sango told her about the rumors we heard about that man.' Inu-Yasha thought.
“Well, we could leave tonight and make it by the end of next week.” Miroku said. He'd finally moved away from Sango probably decided he wanted to live a little bit longer.
“We'll leave as soon as it gets dark then!” Kagome stood up. “I'm going to go find Kaede and tell her our plans.” she wiped her hands off on her skirt and left. Inu-Yasha watched her go with intent eyes.
`Feh. Why does she have to help Old Kaede anyway?' he thought crossing his arms. He could hear Sango, Shippo, and Miroku all talking about which path they should take. It really didn't matter to him, just as long as they got another jewel shard.
“Inu-Yasha do you know any good roads to this kingdom?” Miroku asked.
“I've never been there. So there's no use even asking me about it.” he said closing his eyes.
***************************************************************** ****
Kagome yawned as the road seemed to blur in front of her eyes. “Kagome, will it be much longer?” Shippo whined as his eyes closed without his consent. He forced them open.
“I hope so. I'm almost asleep on my feet.” Kagome answered as she stifled another yawn.
“It'll be just a few more minutes. We have to find a safe place to sleep.” Sango said as she stumbled along the road. Inu-Yasha and Miroku had gone ahead to try and find a safe sleeping place.
“I am to…………” Shippo trailed off as he lost the battle and fell asleep in the basket of Kagome's bicycle. Kagome smiled at the little fox before stifling another yawn.
A few minutes later an exhausted Miroku and an almost equally as tired Inu-Yasha showed up. `Inu-Yasha must be very tired. He's not even bothering to insult me!' Kagome thought as Miroku and Inu-Yasha lead them to a small clearing in the large forest.
They only had enough strength to build a small fire. And just after the blaze got going Sango collapsed beside it and fell into an exhausted sleep. Kagome just had enough strength to unravel her sleeping bag and crawling inside.
Miroku soon fell asleep. Inu-Yasha watched as the blaze became a little brighter. His tiredness would soon take over he knew it. His eyes turned to Kagome, her sides were expanding and shrinking in her steady breathing. She looked so peaceful laying there. It seemed as though all her problems melted away in sleep.
`Wish it could be that easy for me. All I dream about is when Kikyo shot me with that arrow. And sometimes instead of being Kikyo it would be Kagome.' he heard something.
He heard it again. It was a rustling. “Get up!” he said loud enough just to wake the others up. Kagome yawned as she sat up.
“Inu-Yasha, what's wrong?” Kagome asked standing up. Inu-Yasha was looking intently in the general southern direction.
“Something's out there. It smells like a demon.” he said letting his eyes roam around the general direction that the smell was coming from.
Kagome got her bow while Sango got her boomerang. Kagome gasped as a bunch of samurai jumped out from the shadows. She heard Inu-Yasha murmur `this should be fun' under his breath. The samurai started attacking them. But every time Inu-Yasha, Miroku, Sango, and Kagome struck one down a bluish glow would surround them and they would get back up!
“Shippo! RUN!” Sango yelled as the hilt of a sword struck her in the head.
“SANGO!” Miroku yelled, but the samurai took advantage of his distraction and bonked him on the head as well. Kagome blinked.
“Inu-Yasha why aren't they killing us?” she asked as Shippo disappeared into the bushes. Kagome had the feeling that Myoga was on Shippo.
“You're right. They're not trying to kill us. But they're not dieing either. Let's see how they can handle Tetsusaiga!” Inu-Yasha drew the steel-cleaving fang from its sheath. He began to fight the samurai. Kagome watched as he dodged an attack.
“Nothing works!” he said jumping in front of her. She looked up at him, fear showing in her hazel eyes.
“Then what are we gonna do?” she asked. Suddenly she groaned as a sword hilt made contact with the back of her own head.
“KAGOME!” Inu-Yasha shouted, just before he to was knocked unconscious.
Chapter Three: Blackmailed Emotions
Kagome groaned as she opened her eyes. Her head was pounding and she felt as stiff as a board. She could also tell right away that she wasn't in her normal clothing. She looked down to see that she was in a light purple kimono with little flower designs on it.
`Where's Inu-Yasha and the others?' she thought looking around the room. She could feel that her hair had also been pulled back.
“Ah. So you're finally awake.” She looked up at the deep male voice. A man with his brown hair pulled back and in a dark blue kimono stood in the doorway of the small room.
“Who are you?” she asked in complete surprise. His eyes were what caught her attention the most, they were cold eyes filled with hatred for everyone and everything.
“I am Watnabe and you are the young girl with all those jewel shards!” he said, grinning evilly.
`Oh, no! He couldn't possibly think I'd marry him! No way! He's already got a dozen wives! Wait a minute! His left hand! There's a piece of the Shikon jewel in it! He hasn't been murdering his wives! He's been taking their souls! He's a true youkai! Inu-Yasha!' she thought.
“And at sunset you'll marry me, and give me the Shikon shards and your soul.” he said, confirming her suspicions. She smirked at him.
“Yeah, right, and just how are you going to make me? You know you can't make me marry you against my will!” she said, thinking maybe she could outwit him.
“Ah. But what about your human friends? I have the authority to have them killed.” Kagome gasped. Then she smirked again.
“And just how are you going to do that when one is a hanyou?” she said.
“Oh? Him? Well, I put a time spell on him. So to him all the time is his weakness, when he turns into a mere mortal.” the man laughed evilly.
“What?!” Kagome cried. `No! If I don't marry him he'll kill Inu-Yasha and the others! I couldn't stand to see them get hurt because of my stubbornness.' her eyes watered and tears began to fell down her cheeks. “Fine. I'll marry you. Only if you promise not to harm the others and you release them after you've taken my soul.” She whispered looking down at the floor.
“Excellent. You may say good-bye before the wedding. They'll be chained to a wall just outside the cathedral!” he laughed as he left the room.
`Inu-Yasha! Miroku! Sango! I'm sorry!' Kagome wept silently. A small girl that bore a strong resemblance the man that had just left peered through a window.
`Maybe if I can find that kitsune that had been with them I can help overthrow my brother!' the small girl, whose name was Kia, thought.
The girl ran with all haste to the forest hoping against hope she could find the small fox in time, before her brother took that woman's soul.
***************************************************************** ****
Kagome walked slowly towards the cathedral. Two guards were on either side of her. Tears were still dripping down her face at the thought of all she would leave behind soon. `Grandpa. Mom. Sota. Inu-Yasha. Shippo. Sango. Miroku.' She sobbed to herself.
When she looked up she saw the three people most dear to her chained to the wall. Inu-Yasha was in the middle, with Sango on his right and Miroku on his left.
As calmly as she could she walked up to Miroku. He looked down at her with sympathy in his eyes.
“Good-bye, Miroku. You were a good friend.” She hugged him tightly and he returned the gesture, not even making a perverted gesture, to depressed too.
She then turned to Sango. Tears were welling in Sango's eyes. Kagome tried to smile reassuringly but failed miserably.
“Kagome………” Sango whispered. Kagome hugged her friend tightly, angry that this was the way that they all had to say good-bye. Her forced into a marriage and them chained to a wall. She turned to Inu-Yasha. He had his black hair and dark hazel eyes thanks to the spell Watnabe had put on him.
“Inu-Yasha.” she collapsed against his chest crying. She clutched his kimono with both hands. She felt him put his arms around her, she could hear the chains clanging as he did so.
“No, Kagome please don't cry.” he whispered. It was heartbreaking to see such a strong girl give up all hope. The girl he knew and loved didn't give up that easily. If only he were in his hanyou form, he'd teach that bastard a lesson.
Kagome looked up at his face and started. Tears were silently running down his cheeks also. She placed a shaking hand on his wet cheek. “I'm not the only one crying. You are too!” she whispered.
Inu-Yasha looked down at her. “Kagome, please don't do this!” he tried to get her to stop this foolishness. To not give up her life.
“If I don't he'll kill you. I couldn't stand that. I couldn't stand watching the one person I love more than life die!” she cried, not caring if Inu-Yasha knew that she loved him.
“And if he takes your soul he might as well stick a knife in my heart, I can't live without you!” Inu-Yasha said. Kagome felt her tears come faster.
She stood up on tiptoe and kissed Inu-Yasha gently on the lips. The kiss held love, pain, and sorrow. She stepped out of his arms. She looked at him through watery eyes.
“Good-bye, Inu-Yasha. Know that even in death I'll always love you. No matter what.” The guards took hold of each of her arms and led her towards the cathedral.
“KAGOME! KAGOME!” Inu-Yasha screamed struggling against the chains. He felt a change overcome him. He felt his nails grow and human ears disappear. His dog-ears replaced the human ones.
`Her kiss must have broken the spell. KAGOME!' he thought. Then he felt two hands on his wrists. He looked down to see a Shippo in a cloak and a little girl with a strong resemblance to the man marrying Kagome.
“I'm Kia, Watnabe's sister. He's got a jewel shard in his left hand. Be still while I unlock these. I've also got your weapons in my special subspace pocket. We have to be quick if we're going to save Kagome. Here, Shippo, release the priest.” She handed a key to the kitsune.
She released Inu-Yasha and Sango. When all three prisoners were released she gave them their weapons.
“They're free! Lord Watnabe! They're free!” came a shout. Kia started.
“Hurry! My brother will have surely heard that! If he did he'll steal Kagome's soul right away, married or not!” they ran towards the cathedral as fast as possible, the little girl amazingly keeping pace with Inu-Yasha!
Chapter Four: Souls Released and the Second Happier Kiss
Kagome entered the cathedral. All hope was gone, she'd never see her family or friends again. She would be dead within a few moments. As she got closer to where Watnabe was standing she noticed a large glass cylinder that touched both ceiling and floor. It was glowing a bright blue.
`That must be where the souls that he steals go.' she thought miserably. She stood in front of him. He tilted her chin.
“How about a kiss before the wedding?” he laughed. He lowered his face.
`NO! No one except Inu-Yasha is allowed to kiss me!' she thought, panicked.
“THEY'RE FREE! LORD WATNABE! THEY'RE FREE!” shouted a voice. Watnabe released her face and looked up as one of his guards came running in.
“Oh. So Kia has turned against me. Well, they'll be to late to save you!” he placed his left hand on Kagome's neck. Kagome screamed as pain enshrouded her.
Inu-Yasha burst into the cathedral his amber-gold eyes burning with rage. He growled as he saw the blue light encircling Kagome.
“Let her go, you bastard!” he shouted. Watnabe laughed. Kagome looked at Inu-Yasha through pain-clouded eyes.
“Inu-Yasha.” She said weakly, then her heart missed a beat. It caused her soul to leave her body. Inu-Yasha's eyes went wide with surprise then shrunk back into angry slits.
“You son of a bitch!” he charged at Watnabe. Watnabe gathered a ball of blue energy in his left hand and blasted him back. Inu-Yasha landed near Kagome's lifeless body.
“Kagome?” he whispered gathering her in his arms. For the second time that day tears welled in his eyes and began to fall.
“Hey.” Sango looked down at the girl that was tugging on her sleeve.
“Yes?” Sango asked wiping her tears away. She felt Miroku put his arm around her shoulders. She didn't whap it away. She needed the comfort.
“You see that big blue glowing cylinder behind my brother?” at Sango's nod she continued. “That's where he puts the souls. If you can break it with that boomerang of yours while he's occupied with me and Shippo it'll release all the souls including Kagome's!” Kia explained.
Sango began to smile. “Okay.” She agreed. Kia grabbed Shippo's hand and they charged at Watnabe.
“You big bully! When will you learn to stop it?” Kia asked as she and Shippo began to kick and punch at Watnabe. He laughed.
“What? You wish to hasten your death?” he laughed. While all this was going on Sango was aiming her boomerang.
“Hit it.” She whispered before launching it. It made contact with its target and shattered the glass.
Inu-Yasha watched in amazement as the balls of energy went back into Kagome's body. Her eyes opened slowly and she looked up at him.
“Inu-Yasha? You've been crying. Why?” she asked. But as she asked tears were welling up in her eyes also at the thought of how close she'd come to losing her one true love.
“Because I thought I had lost you for good.” Was the answer she got.
“Hey, you're up. My brother's power is in that jewel shard embedded in his left hand. If you can strike him there, you have as good as beaten him! This is a bow of our kingdom, this arrow is called the death arrow it kills whatever it is shot at.” Kia handed Kagome the bow and arrow.
Inu-Yasha stood and drew his sword, Sango aimed her boomerang and Miroku opened his hand. Inu-Yasha charged at Watnabe, Sango launched her boomerang, Miroku turned his hand on him and Kagome let her arrow fly. It hit Watnabe in his hand releasing the jewel just as the three attacks made contact.
“NOOOOOOOOOO!” was the last sound he ever uttered. A shout of joy was heard outside, then another and another as the girls previously thought dead finally came home.
“Good-bye, brother and good riddens!” Kia said, picking up the jewel fragment. “I believe this belongs to you.” she handed Kagome the fragment then went over to thank Shippo.
“Kagome.” she turned around to see Inu-Yasha standing right behind her. “Inu-Yasha.” she stepped into his open arms.
“Kagome, I don't know why I couldn't tell you earlier, maybe it was just fear, but I love you.” he said.
“I love you, too.” Their heads got closer until their lips met once more, until everything else was forgotten.
A kitsune, a perverted monk, a young girl, and a youkai exterminator stared on in amazement.
Chapter Five: The Wedding
Five years later………………
Inu-Yasha stood nervously beside Miroku and Sessho-Maru. He was in a red silk kimono, awaiting his bride to be to show up.
“Calm down, little brother.” Sessho-Maru laughed. Inu-Yasha glared at him out of the corner of his eye.
“Be quite. You're not the one getting married!” Inu-Yasha growled. Sessho-Maru and Miroku sighed, never try to calm down Inu-Yasha it never worked.
Suddenly the traditional bride music floated towards them. Inu-Yasha watched as a beautiful Kagome in a pure whit kimono walked down the aisle. She was smiling and her smile warmed his heart. The ceremony soon came underway.
As Kagome danced with her little brother Sessho-Maru came up to his own little brother.
“So, how does it feel to be married?” he asked. Inu-Yasha looked at his brother, not bothering to hide his smile.
“Very good. Now if you don't mind I'm going to steal my wife away from my brother-in-law.” He walked over and cut in.
“Inu-Yasha, this is the best day of my life. I love you!” she said looking up into his eyes.
“And I love you!” with that they had their second kiss as a married couple. They lived peacefully, or at least until their first baby came along and kept them up all night long!
THE END!!!!!!
