InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Part Of The Pack ❯ A Month In ( Chapter 13 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

A few days later they had started on their quest. They had gotten a few good leads, though two of them were dead ends, and the other they were currently checking out, though it didn't look good. It was like the guy dropped off the face of the planet. So now a month into the quest, let's just say not everyone was have a good time.

“Inuyasha we've been at this for four days, with little rest.” Kagome said knowing she was the only one he'd listen to. “Let's take a break, for a while…”

“For about three days!” Sango yelled from behind them.

Kagome looked back shaking her head at Sango, and then looked at Inuyasha saying, “Three days does sound nice.”

Inuyasha looked down at her like he was thinking about it. All he wanted was to kill Kee then get back home, so he could spend time with his mate, which under the circumstances he wasn't getting very far with, the most time he had spent with her, at least one of them was sleeping, or Shippo was in the room. Sure he sound selfish, but she his mate! He had the right to be selfish. “Enough with the face, we'll stay here, there's a hot spring over in that direction.”

Kagome and Sango both made a happy noise before running off at top speed in the direction of the hot spring.

“Well they're happy, and I won't be following them.” Miroku said from beside Inuyasha.

“You know that's annoying.” Inuyasha said looking at him. “And I wouldn't let you, but why wouldn't you follow them?”

“What them being happy?” Miroku said as he took a seat by the tree next to them, and dropped a bag beside him. “Sango took her weapon.”

“Oh....but yeah, you suddenly popping up out of no where, and being all calm about it is annoying.” Inuyasha said as he took a seat at a tree across from him in the clearing. “Isn't it strange, that the girls waited to just the right time, when we were in this clearing.”

“They have this thing in their head, that when they find some thing they want their brains temporarily shut down on all other things till they get what they want.” Miroku said with a shrug.

“My dad said that's how they chose where to build the mansion.” Inuyasha said with a shrug. “That's why we ended up so close to that hot spring and that field filled with flowers.”

“You know, I always wondered about that.” Miroku said as he leaned his head back and looked up at the stars, happy to be sitting down.

“Ah this is nice…” Sango said as she sunk into the water.

“Yeah…” Kagome said as she too sunk into the steamy water.

“Thank you Kagome, Inuyasha wouldn't have stopped if you didn't ask.” Sango said before dunking her head under the water.

“It's no problem.” Kagome said. “I was sure you would have knocked him out sooner…Like two days ago.”

“I wanted to, really I did, but I thought that maybe you should ask. Then if he didn't listen to you, we could go to drastic measures. We would have had to tie him to a tree.” Sango laughed at the last part.

Kagome dunked her head and came up to say, “I wouldn't have stopped you, but with what rope would you have done so with?”

“Miroku has some rope in that bag he has, along with a few smoke bombs, masks for said smoke bombs, and some bandages.” Sango said with a shrug.

“Ah ok, I was curious to what was in that bag.” Kagome said with a nod.

“Hmmm…”

“What is it Sango?” Kagome asked looking at her questioningly.

“It's odd…Miroku hasn't showed up…”

“Well Inuyasha is with him…” Kagome said as she looked around. “But then again, Inuyasha can have bad judgment…”

“Bad judgment as in, he'd let him go, or bad judgment as in he'd join him?” Sango asked raising an eyebrow.

“He'd join him…” Kagome said looking to the side.

“And you would know this how?”

“Well you see the other day when we caught Miroku and you chased after him, the reason I wasn't behind you was because I was chasing down Inuyasha.” Kagome said with a shrug.

“Ohhh…well I can always get him tomorrow…” Sango said as she sat back.

A half hour later the girls went back to camp only to find the guys fast asleep. “You think they'd at least stay awake till we got back.” Kagome said as they put out the fire for the night.

“I'm sure they tried, but it is late.” Sango said with a shrug as she sat down next to Miroku.

Kagome nodded as she sat down and leaned against Inuyasha. “Night Sango.”

“Night Kagome, see you in the morning.” Sango said before she drifted to sleep.

Kagome yawned slightly before closing her eyes as Inuyasha put his arm around her waist. “Night Inuyasha.”

“Night mate.” Inuyasha mumbled as he picked her up, and jumped up into the tree they were sitting under.

“Inuyasha…”

“Yeah?” Inuyasha asked the half asleep girl in his arms.

“I love you.” Kagome yawned.

“I love you too Kagome.” Inuyasha said closing his eyes, a half smile on his lips.
