Chapter 2: Relationships.
Miroku followed close behind Sango as they walked to the hot spring. Ever since they had left camp, he had been thinking about Sango’s recent change in behavior. He understood what his near-death experience may have done to her, but to ask him to bathe with her, just seemed very strange coming out of her mouth. As he saw the steam coming from the spring, he glanced at Sango.
As she walked in front of him, she was both nervous and happy at the same time. She thought that he wouldn’t join her, since earlier that afternoon; she knew he had overheard the conversation that she had with Inuyasha. She never mentioned Miroku’s name, but talked of sex. She had wanted to talk to Inuyasha, as she thought of him as an older brother as well as a friend. Inuyasha had heard the soft gasp come from Miroku as he listened in the woods. After telling her Miroku was there, Inuyasha stopped her from following and explaining by telling her “No. Don’t. He’ll understand.”
They reached the spring and it was now the moment of truth. She put her bathing supplies down next to the spring and looked back at Miroku. He was staring off into space. Sango went up to him and asked “Something wrong?”
He looked down at her and shook his head. Sango nodded and returned to the spring and bent down to test the water. She reached behind her and went to untie her obi, but stopped when she saw Miroku, once again, looking away. Knowing what was wrong, she went up to him again and joked “After all the times you tried to peek at me, now that I’m letting you look, you won’t?”
Miroku looked down at Sango’s smiling face and he sighed. He smiled and told her “I know what you’re doing, Sango. That attack by that bear cub with the jewel shard changed you and Inuyasha too. I don’t want that incident to make you do something you’ll regret. I heard you talking with Inuyasha earlier; you don’t plan on just bathing with me tonight, do you?”
Embarrassed, Sango looked down, unable to look him in the eye. Her lip started to tremble. As she whispered “He doesn’t want me.” so low he hardly caught it, her shoulders started to shake.
He placed his finger under her chin and lifted it up. Tears were streaming down her cheeks as she looked into Miroku’s eyes. He used his right hand to wipe the tears off her face. He smiled and said “Of course I want you, Sango; I just want you to make sure you know what you’re getting into.”
She sniffled and nodded “Miroku, I know everything I need to know about you. I know your curse…” She grabbed his hand. “could kill you any minute. I know the risks I take by being with you, but I still want to do this. It may be sooner than I thought, but I know it’s right.”
Miroku looked at Sango with amazement. Instead of running like he thought she would, she became surer that she wanted to be with him. Many feelings came to surface as he looked down at her. Pride, happiness and most of all love. As Sango looked at Miroku, she nervously licked her lips. Seeing her do this brought his attention to her lips. After hearing her declaration, he could no longer hold back. He bent down and kissed her gently.
Sango gasped as he kissed her. She quickly got over her shock and kissed back. After a minute, he decided to go further and he, shyly at first, put his tongue in her mouth. She saw this coming and was not surprised. Sango put her arms around Miroku, started to pull his hair out of his ponytail and ran her fingers through his hair. He also brought his arms around Sango and repeated her actions on her hair. As they kissed, Miroku’s hand slowly made its way to its favorite place. Sango pulled away for a moment and she felt him start to move his hand away. She smiled and brought her hand behind her and placed it over his and whispered “It’s okay.”
He smiled back and leaned back down to kiss her again. After another minute passed, he found the tie to her skirt. He untied it and it fell to the ground. At the same time, she found his ties and undid them. They broke apart and they both looked down at each others bodies. Sango wore nothing underneath her Yukata, while Miroku’s robes fell, leaving him in his hakama.
Miroku saw Sango blush as he gazed at her. He saw that the years of demon slaying had made her body muscular, but not overly so. He stayed away a moment longer to give her one more chance to change her mind. When he saw she was coming towards him once again, he quickly undid the ties to his hakama and stepped out of them.
Sango thought it was sweet how he gave her that one last chance, but their making out had ignited something in her he just had to put out. She quickly closed the gap between them and started kissing him passionately. As they kissed, hands moved all along each others bodies. They touched each other as if they were trying to commit each other to memory.
Slowly, Miroku pushed Sango down on to her back. She watched him as he touched and kissed down her body. The lower he went, the less she could stay still. She arched her back to try to get closer to him. He looked up at her and smirked. He continued his path until he found his main destination. As she felt him, she gasped, blushed furiously and could no longer look at him. She had talked to Kagome about this, but never thought it would happen to her. People didn’t do things like this in this era; at least she had never heard anyone speak of it.
All thoughts left Sango as he hit as spot in her with his tongue that made her see stars. She shook and screamed his name as she came. As she lay panting, he crawled back up and he smiled as she looked up at him.
She looked at him for only a moment before she leaned up and kissed him. She could taste herself on his lips and missed the sake she had tasted before. She swore that if he wasn’t traveling and had to have his wits about him; Miroku would be just as constantly drunk as Mushin. He loved his sake, and thankfully knew his limits.
Slowly, Sango had rolled Miroku on to his back. As she straddled him, she began to get a bit nervous. She thought she knew what to do, but wasn’t sure. She was afraid of hurting something. When she bit her lip, Miroku knew what was troubling her. He smiled and told her “Go ahead. I’ll help you.”
Nodding, she leaned back down and repeated what he had done to her. She was doing great until she got to his hips. When she hesitated, Miroku showed her what to do. Where to put her hands, where to lick, and his sensitive spots. Sango was a fast learner and had him hard in a couple of minutes. She kept going and about a minute later he went to move Sango off of him, but stopped when she smiled up at him as she worked on him. A couple more sucks was all it took to set Miroku off. He was shocked to see Sango actually swallow every drop. As he did before, Sango crawled up his body and kissed him.
Sango snuggled against Miroku as they caught their breath. She lazily rubbed his chest and he gasped as she brushed his nipples. She smiled and began to do it intentionally. After a minute, he had become hard once again. She went to reach for him when Miroku stopped her by rolling over. He rose up on his hands and started to touch her. With his hands he had her ready for him in no time, but then he hesitated.
Confused, she looked up at him. Looking into her eyes he asked her “Are you sure? What we’ve done is enough for me. We don’t have to do it if you’re not ready.”
She smiled. ’He’s so sweet.’ she thought. Sango looked up at him. “I’m sure. I’m ready. I want this.”
He slowly pushed in and let her adjust. It had been a little easier for them both since she had no barrier to break. After a moment, she squeezed his backside to tell him she was ready. He moved gently at first, but quickly sped up. Soon, their gasps, moans, and whines filled the clearing.
Back at camp, Inuyasha nearly knocked Kagome off his lap when he started to jump up when he heard the screams coming from the springs. Quickly remembering who was out there, he calmed down as quickly as he was startled.
Sango laid her head on Miroku’s chest and looked up at the stars. As Miroku ran his fingers through her hair, she snuggled closer to him. Sango wanted to stay like that all night, but soon she could no longer resist the urge to wash up.
She got up and gave Miroku her hand. He took it and they went to use the spring to wash up and as soon as they got clean, they got dirty again. After washing up again and having to stop Sango, telling her that they had to get back, they dried off and got dressed. As they made their way back to camp, he smirked when she smiled when he rubbed his favorite spot. Just before they got there, he grabbed her and gave her a quick kiss, telling her “I think I’ve created a monster.” She giggled, he took her hand, and they walked the rest of the way back to camp.
Inuyasha sat as he watched Kagome. Over the six months the whole group had been traveling together, every night they had camped out, he noticed they had a routine. They would make camp about sunset, make dinner, someone would bathe if there was a river or spring nearby, and whoever wasn’t bathing would set out the sleeping bags Kagome had brought for everyone and make tea. When everyone was back together, they would all have tea and talk about the day, what was going to happen tomorrow or whatever else they wanted to talk about.
He looked up as he saw Miroku and Sango emerge from the bushes with smiles and blushes on their faces, their holding hands. Miroku saw the smirk on Inuyasha’s face as they looked at each other. When Sango turned to look at him, not wanting to embarrass her, Inuyasha’s smirk quickly faded. Making sure Miroku couldn’t see, she mouthed the words ‘Thank you.’. Inuyasha gave her a slight nod and turned back towards Kagome.
Still somewhat high off the lingering smells of Miroku and Sango, Inuyasha actually groaned as Kagome bent over the fire to pick up the kettle and he adjusted his hakama. She turned towards him and with a grin that no one else could see, she asked innocently “Something wrong, Inuyasha?” They both knew the effect that they had on each other, but did nothing about it. She gave him a compassionate look and went back to making the tea.
As Kagome made the tea, she remembered how they had almost gone too far several times. She remembered the last time it happened, the night before.
No one in their little group was shocked when Inuyasha and Kagome got up and went towards the woods after dinner. This had been happening for the last three nights. Shippo had explained to Miroku and Sango that Inuyasha’s instincts had been kicking in ever since the attack. His youkai felt the need to be as close to Kagome as he could. It had almost lost her and it would never let it happen again. Being alone with her was the way his youkai seemed to settle down the most.
Inuyasha silently thanked Shippo as they walked. He would have never been able to explain that without stuttering and blushing. Kagome looked up as he grabbed her hand. The first night they did this, he explained what his youkai and his human side were both feeling. That his youkai actually wanted to mate her, while his human side knew that if he did, it wouldn’t be safe for them. Naraku would use it against them. He had been surprised when she told him that she’d love to mate him but knew he was right about Naraku. Even though Inuyasha and Kikyo had done nothing but kissed, Naraku went after them anyway fueled by jealousy.
After admitting her feelings, they had kissed. At first gentle, it soon became passionate. Before they knew it, Kagome’s top was off and she was about to take off her skirt when the first smells of arousal hit Inuyasha’s nose. This was enough to bring him out of his daze. He sadly stopped her. It took her a moment, but she realized what they almost did.
The both of them stood in the clearing disappointed, sad, upset, and most of all horny. After a moment, Inuyasha put his haori around her and led her to a spring they were camped near. He let her go and he went back into the woods to give her privacy. A couple of minutes later, Kagome went to Inuyasha and told him sadly “Your turn.” He nodded and went to the spring. Soon, Kagome sighed as Inuyasha finished in the spring.
He returned to her and they walked a different clearing as the scents of the first were too much for the hanyou to take. He sat at the base of a tree and invited her to sit in his lap. She hesitated at first. He smiled and told her “It’s okay, I can handle it.” She sat in his lap and snuggled into his chest. He gave her a quick hug and ran his fingers through her hair. They sat like that for a while, just holding each other and looking at the stars. He looked down to tell her that they had to get back and noticed she was asleep. He smiled and gently put her top back on and carried her back to camp.
In his memories, Inuyasha barely heard her when she said “Inuyasha.” He blinked and turned to her.
“Yeah?” She let go of his hand, wrapped her arms around his waist and laid her head on his chest. He brought his arm around her and hugged her.
She squeezed him tighter and whispered “It’s not fair, Inuyasha. It’s not fair.”
He laid his chin on her head and told her “I know. I know.”. He loosened his grip and put his finger on her chin to bring her face up to look at him. “Kagome, look, I’ll promise you something. I know what I’ve said before, but soon my youkai won’t let me be able to hold back like I have before.” He smiled as he told her “Remember us about three nights ago. “
“That was your youkai?” she asked sarcastically.
Inuyasha blushed as he answered “Not entirely. Anyway, like I was saying before, soon I won’t be able to control myself, even if I’m holding Tetsueiga. It’s a different type of energy. If I try to hold back too long, my youkai will take over. Now, back to my promise. I’ve thought about it and I don’t want you to have to deal with my youkai. I promise you, the next time we go back to your era we’ll mate, if you still want to.” He went to continue but Kagome had hugged him so tight he could hardly breathe. When she loosened her grip, he said “I guess that’s a yes. I would do it here and now but it’s not safe here, even with Sango and Miroku nearby.” Kagome nodded. They made out for a while and soon her top was off again. He realized what had almost happened, again, and shouted “Not again!”. This time they looked at each other and ran for the river nearby, this time not caring about privacy, finished themselves off at the same time, back to back.
They went back to camp that night and shocked their friends when she rolled her sleeping bag back up and curled up next to Inuyasha with him holding her. Across the fire, Shippo looked at the couple and bit his lip. Inuyasha saw him staring. Making sure no one else saw it; he gave a small smile and nodded. Shippo lit up and ran over. He went and curled up in Inuyasha’s lap. Kagome ran her fingers through Shippo’s hair. Soon everyone except Inuyasha fell asleep.
No one would see him tenderly stroke the kitsune’s cheek and whisper “I’m glad you’ll never go through what I went through, Shippo. You’ll never be alone.”
No one would also ever know, even Inuyasha, that Shippo and Kagome had been awake the whole time.
Kagome smiled as she remembered the tender moment between Inuyasha and Shippo. She knew his past and knew it took a lot for him to say that to the kit. She gave Miroku and Sango their cups and brought Inuyasha’s, Shippo’s, and her cups over to where they had been sitting.
The group sat talking as they did every night. They talked about the villages they passed through, the things that had happened during the day, and the people they encountered. When they started to talk about where they were going to go tomorrow, Inuyasha surprised everyone when by saying “If we start early enough tomorrow morning, we should get to Kaede’s by the middle of the afternoon.”.
Kagome gasped and asked “Really?”. Inuyasha nodded and smirked. They all agreed to leave at sunrise and went to bed.
Kagome was so excited she could hardly sleep. When she finally did fall asleep, her dreams were making Inuyasha uncomfortable. He could tell she was dreaming about what would be happening tomorrow night. Smirking and shaking his head, he thought ‘She’s going to have to wash up in the morning.’.
