InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Piano Lessons With Kanna ❯ meh ( One-Shot )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
Souta Higurashi stood up from the piano bench and walked into the room where the other contestants who had finished playing waited. For some reason his piano teacher, Ms. Ryota, felt the need to hold these competitions every so often. She said that they gave the students incentive to practice. Nobody practiced, though, because the prizes were cheap plastic toys from the nearby Eckards. Despite this, Miss Ryota kept on with the contests. Souta heard his teacher call out, “Miss Kanna?” He watched from the doorway as Kanna, a small, pale, totally blank girl who always wore white and didn't seem to have a last name, stepped up to the beautiful grand piano. The one good thing about these contests was getting to play at that piano, like a professional musician. Kanna spread out her sheet music in front of her and turned Ms. Ryota. “I am going to sing as well as play. Is that alright?” she asked in her monotone voice. Ms. Ryota nodded. The strains of Vannessa Carlton's “A Thousand Miles” poured from beneath her slim, almost white fingers, and she began to sing:
Making my way downtown,
Walking fast, faces pass,
And I'm homebound.
Staring blankly ahead
Just making my way
Making a way through the
Crowd
(chorus)
And I need you.
And I miss you.
And now I wonder,
If I could fall
Into the sky.
Do you think time
Would pass me by?
`Cause you know I'd walk a thousand miles if I could just
See you
Tonight.
It's always times like these
When I think of you,
And I wonder if you ever
Think of me.
`Cause everything feels so wrong
And I don't belong
Living in your precious
Memory.
(chorus)
I
I
Don't want to let you go,
I
I
Don't in your memory,
I
I
Don't want to let this go,
I
I
Don't.
Making my way downtown
Walking fast, faces pass
And I'm homebound.
Staring blankly ahead
Just making my way
Making a way through the
Crowd.
And I still need you
And I still miss you.
And now I wonder.
If I could fall
Into the sky.
Do you think time
Would pass us by?
`Cause you know I'd walk a thousand miles
If I could just see you...
Oh, if I could fall
Into the sky
Do you think time
Would pass me by?
`Cause you know I'd walk a thousand miles if I could just see you.
If I could just hold you
Tonight.
Kanna stood up and walked into the “waiting room”, leaving several astounded, impressed classmates gaping at her.
LATER
“And Kanna wins...” Nobody was paying attention. Why should they be? All Kanna was going to get was a cheap yo-yo! “...two free tickets to see The Tokyo Shock Boys live!” “WHAT???!!!!!!!!!” The class was on their feet in less than an instant. The Tokyo Shock Boys?!! Ms. Ryota smiled smugly. “I do give worthwhile rewards to students who deserve them!” she announced. Then she guided Kanna off the stage, leaving the other students gaping in shocked disbelief.
