Inuyasha sat in a tree, watching the well. Waiting for Kagome's return. They had lots of shards to find yet.
"I wonder what's taking Kikyo so long..." He mumbled under his breath.
'Wait... did I just say Kikyo?' He thought
His hand unconsciously went to his shoulder. The one the arrow pierced and pinned to the tree. Even thought the outside had healed it still hurt him on the inside. He felt a shiver run down his back.
Immediately he started searching the area.
It was one of Kikyo's soul collectors. And the chase began.

"You look so beautiful tonight
Reminds me how you laid us down
And gently smiled before you destroyed my life"

He wasn't sure what he would do once he found Kikyo, he just knew she had to be stopped. All the souls she took, would never rest in peace.
Sooner then he thought he was looking directly at Kikyo.
"Inuyasha." She said coldly.
"Ki... Kikyo..." He stuttered.
His mind went back in time. She was, and still is, beautiful in his mind's eye. But she had deceived him. And it broke his heart.
"Inuyasha, why did you wish me dead? Did you really just want the Shikon no Tama?"
"Never! Kikyo, you betrayed me! You tried to kill me..."
"I will make you remember me in you heart, forever."
Kikyo made her way next to Inuyasha and embraced him, both began to glow.

(Inuyasha's POV)
'WHY!' I screamed in my mind 'I could never forget you. I would never want to forget you!'
My heart suddenly ached. She died! Oh the pain I felt.
'NO! Not again! I can't take this again!'
My mind reeled! Pain, Loss, Sadness, Anger! I couldn't take it.
I felt Kikyo's arms leave me. Her body moved back.
I dropped, like a rock, to the ground.
Last I heard was my own horrified scream, then the world went black.

(Kagome's POV)
I made my way out of the well. Looking about I noticed no one was there, particularly Inuyasha.
'Wonders where Inuyasha is?' I thought.
I figured they miss counted or something and they were expecting me yet. So I headed toward the village.
As I entered I saw Sango watching Shippo and Kirara play one of their many games. Miroku was shamelessly flirting
No sign of Inuyasha. Where was he? Could he be hurt somewhere?
'Why am I so worried?!' My mind screams.
Immediately I flashback...
*I dove into Inuyasha's arms. Immediately embracing him. The best part was next, he returned the imbrase...*
'Big deal! I hug my friends all the time...' I lied to my mind.

The group had begun searching and soon enough, Kirara had tracked him down.
His crumpled form on the ground scared Kagome to no end, but she hid her fear and they approached him.
"Inu... Yasha..." Kagome questioned slowly.
A soul taker was spotted leaving and they knew who did this.
"Kikyo... don't go..." Inuyasha mumbled in his unconscious state.
'Of course...' Kagome cried in her mind. 'No matter what she does... it's always her...'
Kagome turned away, the others assumed out of fear but not out of self pity.
'Why does it hurt so much, why do I care that much...' Kagome wondered.
"Let's get him back to the village." Sango suggested.
:"Yeah." Kagome agreed quietly.
