Pieces - Part VI
The fire raging storm blue and red and black and crystal clear cycloning water spout of his battle heavy heart crashed against the cavity of his chest while lightning flooding flashes white and gold and silver and blue when he visits the ocean on calm nights like this.
Left to think and alone for once, amber horizons reflected in the salted stinging of tranquil desire rose like the tide and scurried back to the deep creviced sea.
That was life with Kikyo and Kagome.
In and out tossing and churning, strong and free, melancholy and wild;
In and out bubbling and babbling, teases and chatter, joking and singing;
In and out mirrors and memories, a sunrise, a sunset, truth and consequences;
In and out like the riptide and he was pulled under - not once, but twice - left to drown in places unknown as he held his breath knowing that someday he'd quit sinking and stop panicking and quit swimming against the natural flow and order of things that his mind preoccupied and stop fighting the current of his instincts and human loyalties and human expectation.
In and out he'd made a promise…he'd made two promises…he'd made so many that he couldn't remember them all since he'd met the two priestesses. His promises meant something since he never bothered with them before. He promised. He promised. He promised. Of course, more than half of those promises were broken whenever he didn't remember to protect Kagome or didn't remember to avenge Kikyo. Still, he promised.
In and out his consciousness opened up and shut out the infinite possibilities. He never was one for possibilities and relied on what he could do to control a lethal situation.
Moments of meditation cluttering and clattering filled his head with debris and doubt and after he had lingered encircling the memories and truth and life and reminisces of all that encompassed his beloved Kikyo and precious Kagome with protective viciousness, he returned to his friends and allowed himself the appreciated luxury - even though illusionary - hour or so of peace.
