Everything in sight collapsed to pieces, grounds ruptured, cloud darkened with series fits of horrendous shrieks, painful moans, and battle cries. Atmosphere reeked with foul smells of deaths, blood and…fears. Many women and children were either decapitated, shred to pieces, seized off the ground, or bombarded by the enemy's weapon, whereas the men continually tried to fend off their enemies-but it was just no use. Too many of their adversaries just came and came out of nowhere and had managed to ambushed their rival enemy. Sadly, this just might be the end of the most ancient race of all-the Makai, the hell demons, and including other rare breeds upon the Risoukyou planet.

It had all begun way too soon, nothing is ever right, especially since the day of a hostiled event when the rival leader came upon their planet and terrorized them with the threat to end all on this planet-and he finally did it. A demoness, Zoë, the daughter of a leader of the Makai race ran through the screaming crowd, followed by her humanoid Traiex guardian, Echo in search of Zoë's family. "Mom! Dad! Where are you!?" Zoë hollered through the band of loud noises, her eyes scanned the area until she caught sight of her mother fending off one of the enemy. Her mother was only skilled as a sorceress, and a healer-not as a fighter, and she was no Makai, instead more of a witch demoness, one named the Rusuima demon.

At such sight licked the fire deep down within her, and she let out a menacing snarl, her indigo eyes flashed instant blood-shot red. "Echo, go find my father, immediately!" Echo, her guardian, bowed her head without question and hopped from ruined building to another, carrying on her wishes, and thus left her standing there among the crowd.

Zoë's body soon concealed itself in flow of red light, her fangs grew an inch longer, sharpened and her voice resonated a thunderous, ominous growl straight across. "You fools!" A flash of red light came across, Zoë thundered her way at once, and used her two Sai; slashed two rival demons by stabbing one through one's throat and another through the eye. She pulled her weapons out and watched the dark red liquid dripped from it. She stood there, her chest heaved heavily with shouts of war bypassed her mind until her mother's ever melodious voice woke her up.

"You must leave." Her mother spoke with fierce look, and it was a sure sign that she would not take 'no' for an answer.

"Mother! You cannot possibl-."

"Do as I say! You and a few others shall survive through this chaos, just by using one of the spell and a special potion I've saved. Now is the time to do it." She shouted at her dumbfounded daughter, a flow of tainted golden hair brushed by her face, some stuck and some brought the taste of blood across her scarred beauty. Her indigo eyes soon flooded with tears and she quickly wiped them away, "I must do it now." She had done the potion a while before, just before the bastards tried to attack her, preventing her from doing so. The first four steps were already done-now all she needed to do was to incite the simple words that would activate the spell.

Just before she invoked the spell, she threw a bag and few other items at her daughter who caught it just in time and instantly dropped her bangs with anger on her face. She took a few moments, taking in the sight of her beautiful daughter. A near-pure breed demoness, such hair she had, all black with golden highlights, she had her mother's eyes, lips and her slender body. Her spicy personality, some she got from her mother and mostly her father's. She would miss her daughter so much, much as she missed her youngest one, who had already been sent off many years before. She had no worries-she knew her youngest child, Blair, is already safe with no knowledge of this chaos.

Time suddenly slowed down, the sorceress raised her hands just as her daughter took few steps forward, tears flooded down her cheeks and screamed for her. But she was confronted by the invisible wall. Her eyes widened in shock and she quickly slammed her hands upon an invisible shield-it was starting now, the spell.

Kani bao desa brittanyo…

Hordes of white, illuminated orbs appeared in certain places, collected some worthy creatures. Zoë, now slamming on the invisible wall, her face crumpled with fear, and cried for her mother, as she hurtled herself onto the unseen wall. She screamed with all her might, demanded her own mother to stop-and demanded a chance to stay and fight for her planet. She used fire against it, used water against it, even the power of shadow-but it was no use. Nothing is working. Nothing ever is. She was slowly encased in an orb and still, she fought against it, went wild like an untamed lion.

Jinyk degina prikero…

Flashes of black beams swarmed around each orbs, and they were sent soaring into the blackened sky. Zoe, the crushed demoness screamed on top of her lungs with tears flooded down her cheeks. Both hands continued to bash on the invisibal wall of an orb and slowly brought herself to stop when she realized that it was no use. She failed to save her plaent, failed to help others. She failed to be strong.
She leaned down against the wall, her forehead pressed against it, with her red puffed eyes, she watched her mother, and the others. Yet, right before her very own eyes, a flash of flying weapons whistled by and her mother was brought down to her knees. Zoe's eyes grew wide, her heart seized painfully on its own, with a flood of emotions ragingly crashed by. Her mouth gaped open in shock-her mother…murdered.

"MOTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" She screamed deafeningly as she sobbed, her heart torn in pieces or so she felt it-her life…now ruined. Her voice, wreaked with bawls, her eyes continued to spill tears until she fell away unconsciously, never knowing where she was going. Luckily, she did not leave her planet, alone. Her guardian, also blacked out, traveled after her in another orb.

Now roving through by one of the many portals-each that was activated by the fearless…sorceress who had taken her life for the sake of others. Together, Zoë and Echo passed through the portal that finally took them far away from the advanced modern time, straight into the feudal time. Just before they went into the portal, the planet, now lined red on the ground from the distance, exploded to pieces, particles of the detonated planet floated around in space. Just as the portals shut closed, the very same group of demons that killed all species on the diminishing planet stopped in their tracks and growled in annoyance.

One of the demon rushed back to his leader's side, "M'lord, what shall we do?"

A sinister, iniquitous smile creep across the thin lips of the very murderer who started the whole thing, finally whispered a hoarse, deep voice, "Just sit back and relax...there's always a way."

"Yes, Lord...Yuma."

Along the way down to the feudal world, Zoë's ring she had worn, trigger itself right on, as if a specter had summoned it to do so, quickly brought in a large cloak over her unconscious slim figure and Echo's humanoid body automatically took the form of a full-grown golden cat with a slash, but sinuous mark on the forehead.

The burning white orbs soon turned into the appearance of a fireball as it entered the certain heights of the atmosphere and something happened…the orbs collided onto one another with a loud bang and it went their separate ways.

~::~ Writer's Place ~::~

Well, what did you think? I know, Zoë and Echo are actually my made-up characters, and to be truthful, they are absolutely one of my best and favorite characters out of all others, I've done so far. Don't worry, I will have the biography of Zoë (with Echo included) up soon, but I prefer to have her information revealed throughout the story here. It's much more exhilarating that way, neh?

Anyways, this chapter is actually a prolog, of how things came to be. The next chapter will be written out between me and my good friend. Just hold on your pants and your tongue-because it'll be coming soon, hun!

Let me know what you think of this prolog. Thanks a bunch!
