[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]
A/N: It would be a good idea to, if you haven't already, read the original Popularity Contest fic. I don't own Inuyasha.
A young silver haired man looked out the window at the sun as it roze into the sky. His hand gently massaging a young girl's triangular ear as he used his other arm to hold her tightly to him from behind. A low pur filled the room as she reacted to his touch in her sleep.
"Inu...yasha?" the young girl purred.
"Yes kitten, I'm here," he whispered softly, nuzzling her neck. This was his favorite activity. Kagome talked in her sleep and with proper coaxing would tell her deepest secrets.
"F-feels good..." she mewed in pure pleasure.
"Kagome, do you love me?" Inuyasha whispered softly into her ear.
"Inu...yes..." She leaned into his touch, trying to snuggle closer to him.
"Good kitten." Inuyasha gently nuzzled her neck, then pulled back when she moaned.
"Inu..." she whined softly. Her mind still asleep.
"Are you hidding anything from me?" Inuyasha whispered into her ear.
"...Inu..." Inuyasha moved back and watched as she began shaking, sweat appearing on her forehead. Her eyes remained close indicating that she was still asleep. He watched her head turn from side to side as if trying to shake something away. She groaned as if in pain and seemed to brace herself against the bed with handfulls of the blanket below her.
After a few seconds, Inuyasha grabbed her around the waist once again and pulled her to him, this time wrapping his other arm around her chest, an inch below her collarbone. He pulled her to him forcefully, immediately quieting her. Her eyes fluttered open and she looked around, her breathing ragged.
"Inuyasha?" She looked around the room for a threat. "What's happening?"
He relaxed and reluctantly released her. "You were just having a nightmare," he lied, standing up. His bangs covered his hair as he walked toward the door. "Get ready. It's the first day of school. You don't want to be late." He walked through the door and closed it behind him. 'She's hiding something...' he thought to himself. "...but, the question is 'what?'"
A black motorcycle skidded to a stop in front of a large school building and two demons stepped off, removing their helmets.
Kagome looked around the familiar school building and sighed. 'Back at school again.' She handed Inuyasha her helmet and stepped onto the sidewalk, her skirt moving with the wind.
"Kagome, wait." Inuyasha pulled a small box out of his pocket.
Kagome turned around and looked at him with feline curiosity. "Hn?"
"I got you this..." He opened the box and showed the contents to her. Inside was a thick bright red collar with a silver bell in the middle. He looked sadly up at the scar on the left side of her neck, just above her collarbone. "In case you-"
"It's nice Inuyasha. I love it, but I don't need it." Kagome closed the box and left him there staring.
"Kagome..." he whispered, watching her walk happily toward the school, head held high for the first time in a while. After a few seconds, he followed, catching up to her and staying close until they reached the door to their classroom.
"Hey, Yash!" Inuyasha turned to see two panther demons walking toward him.
"What's up?" Kagome asked casually.
Both panthers looked at her then brushed her comment off, turning back to Inuyasha. "So Inuyasha how was your summ-" Sango began before her eyes widened and she turned her head slowly to Kagome. The panthers eyes seemed to cloud over as her gaze turned to Kagome's neck. Before she knew it, Kagome was being pinned against the wall by a very confused and curious panther demon.
"Hey, what are you-?" Kagome felt her head being pushed to the side as Sango inspected her neck with glazed over eyes.
Miroku chuckled. "Cat fight."
"Literally." Inuyasha nodded. He turned back to Sango who still had Kagome pinned to the wall. "Sango. What are you doing?"
The panther demon turned around, releasing Kagome and walked toward Inuyasha, hissing angrily. Inuyasha backed into a wall and was pounced on by Sango. She jumped up and straddled Inuyasha's waist. (A/N: In this fic she's a lot shorter than him because of her species.) Inuyasha opened his mouth to protest her actions only to have it held open forcefully as Sango looked into his mouth, her eyes glazing over again.
"What's she doing?" Kagome asked, walking slowly up to the male panther.
"She's using her infrared vision to look at his fangs," he explained, pointing to his eyes.
"Why doesn't she just ask?" Kagome looked at the red marks on her wrists.
"Two things. One: She doesn't have as much training as I do so she needs the thing she's looking at to be completely still to see it correctly."
Miroku moved forward and began carefully prying her from Inuyasha. "What's the other reason?" Kagome asked, watching him.
"She just doesn't like playing nice," Miroku said as he finally managed to rip the hissing cat from it's prey.
"Whaddya do that for, Miroku?" the panther growled, struggling against the other's arms. "I almost had it."
"I can already see it. They're mates," he said, setting her down a good ten feet from Inuyasha as he walked toward Kagome.
Kagome watched the female panther's eyes as they turned red. "NO! HE'S MINE!" She shrieked, dodging past Miroku and pouncing on Inuyasha again. This time she knocked him onto the floor and pinned him down. Kagome immediately ran to Inuyasha's side and kicked the panther hard in the stomach, sending her flying into a locker.
"Bite me, bitch!" Kagome's eyes turned a dark crimson as she helped Inuyasha to his feet and stood in a defensive position in front of him.
Inuyasha quickly ran to stand next to Miroku and watch the scene as it played out in front of them. "Five bucks on Kagome," the hanyou chuckled.
"I'll take your money," Miroku smiled mischeiviously, watching a crowd gather around the two very angry demons.
Inuyasha walked calmly to his locker and pulled out a long wooden box. He turned as one of the felines shreiked and crashed into the lockers, leaving a large dent.
"Bitch!" Kagome hissed, pulling herself from the lockers.
Inuyasha moved to the inner circle of the bystanders and stood watching the fight, waiting. A few seconds later, he found his opening. "Kagome! Here." He opened the box quickly and tossed a light double bladed sword to her. Kagome looked at it for a second before using it to block an attack from the side by Sango.
Sango slid on her back across the floor before jumping quickly to all fours and looking at Kagome with an evil grin. "That sword's going to be mine at the end." Kagome watched as the woman began to change. A few seconds later, Kagome found herself face to face with a snarling panther as it swiped at her with it's claws. Once....twice....three times...Kagome blocked all of the blows with her sword then dove to the side and rolled to her feet.
She was too slow. Within seconds, Sango was standing infront of her, claws ready to plunge deep into Kagome's chest. Kagome's sword was only inches from the large cat's skull. Without hesitation both cats attacked.
Suddenly, it was all over. Both women lay unconscious on the ground with Inuyasha standing over them brushing off his sleeves. "Breakfast anyone?"
A/N: I made a longer chapter than usual as a peace offering for going back on my word.
